CornishTT''s weight loss diary

Re: My Atkins diary

Well, my love affair with coleslaw continues. It's getting quite serious now, and I'm not sure if I should tell my husband? Can you elope if you're already married? And what about the kids? :D

On other things, my ankle feels much better today so back to 30 DS tonight once kideos have gone to bed. Will keep the support on just in case.

Weather's turning and I'm not too happy about it. Wish we could have summer always.

Rubbish day here also - grey, dull, miserable and trying to rain - meh :-( x

What's the chocolate recipe please xx

Sun just came out again - for the weekend:D

Been gorgeous here all week Katie until today. And our forecast for the weekend is rain, rain and more rain - followed by a bit more rain - bloody typical!

Still sunny here today, but hoping it cools down tomorrow or I will be like sweaty Betty at the wedding not a good look x x

Re: My Atkins diary

Well, luckily the weather held out today so we managed to go out but it's coming in tonight and we'll have rain all weekend.

On another note, meg, I made your dinner with chicken. I deboned 1kg chicken thighs and cubed them, mixed in spices and baked for 1h20 at 180. See pics below, nice, thanks for sharing!

Omg I could so so so eat that right now, 2 questions - where do I get coconut oil and what's the best coco to use xx

Re: My Atkins diary

I bought mine online but you can get it at Tesco (I think it's called KTC) and I use bournville dark but not sure if that is best.

In fact, not sure you should even take any advice from me as I've not lost any weight again today and I could just cry. I have lost 1lb in a month, that isn't right. I have not cheated and have been so good, exercise or no exercise, I should have lost more :mad::( *cry*

Hi Toni

I just posted in the other WI thread - so sorry you've STS for a month. I just wonder whether you need to take things back to basics - which I'm afraid means leaving coleslaw, cocoa and the like off the menu for a week or so, see what kind of difference it makes.

Big hugs love xxxx

Re: My Atkins diary

Don't beat yourself up honey, Atkins is renowned for it's stalls.... As long as you enjoy the low carb way of eating then continue and it will come off, go back to basics, clean and green....... X x

Re: My Atkins diary

Thanks Susie, I must be doing something wrong. But I'm confused about why I can't have coleslaw, you're allowed cabbage, mayo and lemon juice, during induction. I make it myself, it's not shop bought. I'm sticking to within 20g crabs? Should I just have boiled and fresh veg without anything on? I'm hoping I get book today and that may help.

Chin up chick! Have you taken measurements? I sts for a long long time but there was slight movement in the tape measure.

Stick with it, I'm going to pop over to mfp and nose at your diary :) iv not wi yet as (tmi) iv not been to the park yet.

That chicken looks amazing!!!! x

I would maybe drop the lemon juice but not the slaw :) I'm going to make some this week x

Hey you, don't be disheartened!! Your doing the shred and I bet all your muscles are getting toned and lean without you even knowing it. Do your measurement and stick with it, I bet you'll have a loss next week. I've gone back to basics this week and I think it's good to remind you of the rules again.

Looking forward to hearing about your loss next week :) xxx

Kimmi's right, you've done lots of excersise and it will take time to see the effects.

I've had to add in loads of cardio to get a loss as the scales were creeping up from doing the shred.

are you sure you haven't got a few naughty carbs creeping in here and there - it's very easy to go over without realising (I've been there!)

Dont worry - you will get there.

Sorry to hear you are a bit down. I think finding the right balance of exercise to feel good without it being all consuming plus the impact on bodies is important. Hope you are having good weekend
X

Hi everyone, thanks for your support and encouragement! Yesterday I had a rubbish day, I was so sure I'd lost about 3lb or so as I was feeling trimmer than ever. Anyway, when I sts AGAIN for the 4th week in a row (well, 1lb isn't much) I was gutted to say the least.

I went off on a carb mission. I had popcorn. I had chocolate. I had muffins. I had gnocci for lunch and then out for dinner at a local Indian Restaurant with poppadoms, naan bread and rice and it was all YUM! In fact, I couldn't finish my meal and was full about 2/3rds of the way in and I left the rest (unusual for me, usually never enough!). I had 1 whiskey with a mixer and half a pint of some beer at the beer festival (not much of a drinker). Basically, I had a 'free' day yesterday, I enjoyed it at the time and I needed it.

I needed it because it reminded me how crap I used to eat before getting back on atkins and how bad it makes me feel.

I needed to go to bed AND wake up with the sickly feeling that I always get, at the back of my throat, when I am eating loads of crap and sugar.

I needed to feel that pang of regret because as I was walking to the restaurant I realised how loose my jeans were and I thought, "why did I cheat today?!"

SO, I AM BACK FLAB, WATCH OUT!! :D

I have been thinking of everything you guys said, the excersise is def not helping the figures on the scales (sadieley, the measurements are showing I'm slimmer - about 5cm off in waist and hips) and my shape is changing so you know what, I AM NOT GOING TO QUIT! I am going to keep going kimmi but not too much katie!

I am going to carry on with the shred and to hell with the scales. I am going to stay off the scales again and go back to my original goal of weighing in about 2-3 week times (whenever I finish the 30DS as I injured my knee and ankle, too many jumping jacks). I will def try do more cardio jonsgirl, you have a point there!

Susie & Teeney you've said all along about C&G and going back to basics and after reading some of the book (had to skim, no time, aaargh!) the most interesting paragraph so far for me was this one, " ... This allows for approximately 3 cups of salad vegetables (loosely packed) or 2 cups of salad plus 2/3 of a cup of cooked vegetables in the below 10% cab category. So, if I go by this, (like when eating my coleslaw) I was like eating 2-3 cups per meal! Now, I went according to mfp, so I am probably doing something wrong. Having said that though, I never remember eating so many veg last time around. So I am going to go by the book, 3 cups salad veg, loosely packed.

So, I'm not doing mfp for now, just writing things in here, and should then be able to see how I'm doing without all the figures and percentages.

Today's meals as follows:
B - 2 boiled eggs
L - 1 cup lettuce, mince with cayenne, cumin and cinnamon & mayo.
D - 1 cup lettuce, left over mince/chicken donner and mayo.
S - Coke Zero, 1 slice of cheese & 1 slice ham rolled up. 1 slice salami.
W - 3l +

Thanks for reading my essay and going to catch up on your diaries now.

Best of luck starting over. Going back to basics with the food as per Dr Atkins' rules but keeping up the exercise sounds like a very sensible approach. Sure you'll get the scales moving again in no time.
