CornishTT''s weight loss diary

I'm a scale addict too!!!! Scales and ketosis sticks are my weaknesses!! Hehe!!! I have out them both away until Saturday though, being a good girl this week!! Xx

Hi Toni,

Sounds like it's going well. I think focusing on feeling fab and clothes fitting is the best way to enjoy and be successful at atkins:)
Keep going!

Re: My Atkins diary

Thanks Katie, I try!

Today I am trying to be clean and green! I have ordered the original book (i think) to help me get back to it.

I have to say last time I did this diet (successfully) I never had the book or mfp (this was 11 years ago) and I did fine on it. I do wonder if sometimes tmi is a bad thing. I struggle to complete mfp cause I just don't have the time, esp with 2 small children. I have a little notebook to write what I am eating but that hardly gets filled in, so by the time they've gone to bed I probably have forgotten what I ate.

How do you guys do it? Do you have a set time in the day you update your diary and workout what you'll eat the next day?

Maybe that is what I should do, then I only have to think about what to have tomorrow and not the whole week.

If I build it into my routine, after exercising and dinner +- 7.30-8, then sit down n plan what's for tomorrow.

My bacon, egg n courgette muffins are in the oven and I can't wait, hungry today. Wonder if it is totm, I'm all over the place with that since I had my second (and last!) 17 months ago, so it's anyone's guess.

So I think menu looking like this:
B
-3 bacon, egg n courgette muffins
- Half Haas avo

- Fried turkey breast with cumin and cayenne
- coleslaw (about 150g cabbage, dressing 2-3 tbsp mayo, 1 tbsp lemon juice, pinch of herb salt, plenty of pepper and a pinch of lightly crushed caraway seeds).

Not sure what's for dinner, maybe fish of sorts with broccoli?

Re: My Atkins diary

And, after trawling through Tesco to find gia sundried tom paste, chilli hog bites and KTC (?) coconut oil. Could I find any of them? Nope, not a one! It's not the biggest Tesco but it is big enough, wonder if I need to go to the super store? Would be worth it to get those things! On another note, ordered cocoa butter online to make chocolate, will post on here how it turned out, think it will be an improvement on coconut oil!

We have a really small tesco's here but I can get everything on your list except the chilli hog bites so don't know what that's all about. Maybe go to the bigger superstore and stock up - it's all stuff that will keep.

I have not seen the hotdogs for a while in my tesco! Prob looking in the wrong place x but I did get the purée and saw the coconut oil there x I have fav things from each supermarkets it's a nightmare shopping, takes me forever popping into different shops x

Re: My Atkins diary

Really bizarre then jonsgirl, wonder why I couldn't find them. Was going to go to customer service but was a queue n couldn't be bummed. Will ask next time.

I know what you mean meg, I've just going without, don't have the time! Which are your fav low carb products? I love Maggie liquid seasoning (found in Tesco too btw) - does have carbs but I love the taste. I also stumbled upon red pasta with olives, only 3g carbs per 100g! I love spreading it over cooked chicken, topping with cheese and popping it under grill for a bit!

Wondered if it was worth making our own sun dried tomato paste? For 100g sundries toms it was only 8g carbs (from the 1 jar I looked at, others may vary) and we could use 50g and thin out with water (or cream or cream cheese!) or bulk it out with olive oil? According to mfp gia is 20g carbs per 100. Is that right? A bit of a faff to blitz it but less than half the carbs may be worth it.

I tend to do mine at work in the morning (I usually get in earlier than everyone else and have a little net trawl of forums, etc) but I usually have the same brekkie so it's simple, you just use the Copy Yesterday function under quick tools.

For stuff like the muffins, add it in to the recipe section, then it's super quick to add in :)

NOOOOOOOOOOO!! Lol don't know how it's worked that out.

Gia paste is less than 0.5g of carb per 100g. There's 80g in a full tube.

I have the box here in front of me so I'm certain lol. Just make sure you get the one in the gold box x

MFP is only as good as the people putting the information in, I often have to try twice or sometimes more to get the right measurements :)

Good thinking Susie, will try that. Haha meg, you're funny. Won't be long and your scales will be able to read you!

I have a hankering for coleslaw today, I am just dying for it! I've had about 300g cabbage (12g carbs, eeek) so far and the mayo too, think I'll have to skip carbs at dinner or I'll go over. It was nice but I could eat it again! Drink more water n step away from the 'slaw Toni.

Add a dash of mustard to the slaw :) nom nom nom x

Re: My Atkins diary

Oh well, not been a good day Atkins wise in the sense that a) skipped lunch, too busy, b) had two chocolate genaches, (teeney's version, tho had no coconut oil so used unsalted butter and it worked very well, just don't melt butter too much, get it to the just melted stage, c) only drank 2l water (been aiming for 3-4 per dat) and c) not eaten enough veg.

And I wanna weigh! Damn it! Have resisted so far but they are calling me. I have hidden them right under shelving unit so can't even see em from any angle in the room but the desire is there!

AND, no 30 day shred today! :( Manic day sorting out house for estate agent to take pics so no time in the day and had friends over this evening, in kitchen from time picking kids up from nursery and they've only left now. Though, I stuck to Atkins and didn't even cheat!

Hope you all had good day, catch up tomorrow, off to bed now x
