Couch to 5k challenge

HP, week 8 is:
Brisk five minute warmup walk, then jog 28 minutes. Finish with a five minute cooldown walk! So same as week 7 but increasing the 25 min jog to 28. Bet you wished you didn't ask now!!!
 
Thanks woodland girl. I knew I wouldnt fly through it but also didnt think I'd struggle so much at the end! started to wonder if I would have to repeat weeks! lol x
 
The advice given to me (good advice!) was dont repeat weeks, keep going, you just might surprise yourself! Then if you do find a day too much, have a day off and then try it again!

My physiotherapist has said no running because my pelvic alignment isn't right and I'm making it worse :( oh poo! I can swim only :(

Lol yeah I do! Is that extra 3 mins a killer?! Saying that I misheard the app earlier as Mark was talking and thought she said start when really we had a minute to go so ended up doing 26 mins instead! X
 
I'm done. Week 9, day 3 passed without incident. After a few days off to rest an injury, I got back on the treadmill and enjoyed it so much!

Week 5 starts on Wednesday for me. Am a little scared but I managed week 4. I tweaked my ankle today so will need to watch that.

I was away last week so haven't been out for a while. Did the 5 minute runs today. The last one was up a big hill and was a bit of a struggle! Don't think I'm looking forward to the 8 minutes!!! X

Got pod for week 1 i'm starting on Monday any tips for shoe wear, clothes wear? what to take. Im staying local to my house for the first week or 2.

very nervouse never gone street running before.

I just wear trainers t shirt and baggy bottoms. I am on week 5 run 2 and I feel so pleased that I have achieved everything so far. I haven't been able to run before. I am thinking about getting some running trainers but no idea what to look for. Any suggestions?

Just got back from run 2! was a little easier than day 1 which shocked me as I really couldnt be bothered today.

lookingforme... I was very nervous about running close to home too, mainly because I didn't want me neighbours seeing me in that state and laughing! So I go to my friends and run near hers and for some reason that doesn't make me uncomfortable.. maybe worth thinking about if you're nervous for the same reasons? Also I was worried about people hurling abuse at me because i was fat and running but haven't experienced this.. as for clothing, whatever you find comfy to start of with although if you're brave enough Lycra really is great for keeping you cooler and less clammy!
 
I have read elsewhere that asics (think that's the name) are the best runners for running or to go to a proper running shop to get advice and fitted, I am suffering very bad with shin splints and I think this could be part of the reason that my footwear is not good enough!

I go out very early about 7/7:30am and there does be hardly anyone around, possibly pass 2 others out walking but that's it! I hide a single front door key in my garden so as I don't have to carry it and literally bring a 500ml bottle of water for one hand and have my iPhone in the other hand with headphones on! If it's cold you may need a hoody, I live in Spain so not an issue for me!

I too am very proud that I am on week four and jogging 5 minutes in a go, week one nearly died doing one minute!
