1st day of week 3 and boy did I struggle! Jogging for 3 minutes, not easy, my legs felt a bit heavy. Hopefully as I lose weight, it will get easier.

Don't worry I found the beginning of week 3 hard to but by the end of it yesterday I was even running an extra 3 mins on top I'm now running and brisk walking 3k which is just over 2 miles :) it does get easier :) xx

Thanks for the encouragement, jude. When I realised I would have to run for 3 min straight, I was really nervous but I will hang in there. Well done on your progress so far :D.

Thanku I'm really chuffed with myself and yeah keep at it each week seems harder but by the end of the week u start to think well that was easy I can't believe I managed it and it makes u feel really good :) xx
 
Been lurking on this thread for some time. Needed to ask a few questions.

I do a lot of walking, very brisk for about an hour each day. First question, how hard is to make the change from walking to running?

Also, I don`t own a pair of trainers. Do you need anything special?

Considering giving this a go. Any advise would be appreciated

Doing that much walking you should already have a good fitness level I didn't do any exercise before and I'm loving running :) and the c25k does a mixture of brisk walking and running and the walking gradually decreases as the weeks go on so I think you'd get on fine with it and I was running in normal trainers but I did invest in running trainers and there's lots easier to run in and I'd also advise investing in a sports bra lol I defo needed one go for it I'm sure youl love it hope this helps xx
 
Week 3 day 2 done. Tomorrow is day 3 and then off onto week 4 come Monday or Tuesday. I read somewhere that alot of people quit C25K after 4 or 5 weeks. Don't know why.

I`ve done it. Bought a pair of trainers yesterday and did my first day today.

I`d say it was reasonably difficult but not as difficult as I thought it would be. But then it was only day one!! lol

Bring on week 4!!! I'm gonna do 6 week 6 pack in conjunction with C25K. I have 6 weeks of both to do so expecting some awesome results at the end of both.

So was thinking of starting the c25k with the app on my iPhone. Just wondering how fit u need to be before u start?

Hi jo, good on you for considering C25K. I can't give you an answer as I was doing quite alot of exercise before I ventured outside so I was kinda fit to start with. I reckon you should start with walking first, maybe for a couple of weeks and then get started. Or even start right away, the good thing about this programme is if you feel you are not ready to move on to the next week, you don't have to. Just listen to your body, and you will find it easy. I'm not fitness expert so maybe I'm wrong. But if you are thinking about it, then it's worth it to give it a try. Good luck hun :D

You don't really need any fitness before starting it. Just give it a go. I found that I did have to push myself all the time though. There were times when I felt like I really needed to walk but I'm a bit too hard faced and refused to let it beat me!! I started from very little fitness and completed the programme in may. Haven't done as much running as I'd like since, due to other commitments, but I can still happily run for 3 miles now without a break. C25K rocks. :)
 
Thanks for the responses guys I think im going to give it a go. I find walking boring do want something that is going to push me a bit and keep me interests. My fitness is zero tbh ad regards proper exercise so his may be the thing to get me started.

I shall let u know how I get on! X

Welcome back Welshtigger, good luck on your journey towards B210k. As for me I've just come back from my first day of week 4 and I must say I am really impressed with myself. Never in a million yrs did I think I would be able to run as much as I did, lol but I did it. The first 5 min run was easy but the one after was a little bit harder and I had to stop for a min and just walk but I stopped the timer and then continued. And before the last 5 min cool down, I jogged for about 8 mins becoz I always like to finish on a high. Wednesday is day 2. Good luck everyone.
