I'm not a huge socialiser it was always just a few nights out over a year at most for me, but I have missed having friends over it's been too cold until recently albeit it's due for another cold snap according to the forecast.
I plan to have one friend over at a time, for dinner in the gazebo on a fairly regular basis until we're allowed more. Last night was lovely, we had our dinner, then I fired up the chimnea, daughter went out and son went to play in his room so we had some peace for a lovely catch up. I ate lots I shouldn't tho, we melted chocolate on the fire and dunked fruit in it. My friend left about 10pm and I stayed out until the fire died down stargazing and watching satellites sail quietly across the sky (I saw 6)
However today is weigh day - and I am 2lbs down! my measurements are all the same tho. I didn't want to measure every limb so I only went with bust, hips and waist. I must be losing it from somewhere tho.
I wasn't due to start back at work until tomorrow night, but a workmate's Dad has passed away so he's off unexpectedly, I said I'd cover tonight so I'm starting a night early. I didn't think about it at the time (not that it would have changed what I chose to do), but I think this will tip me over into earning too much for the dentist again this month.
Things will settle, I find I can manage 5 nights in a row not to badly but by 6 I'm exhausted so I don't want to keep doing 6, but that will be 6 this run and last run too as I covered a friend to have time off around her birthday.
But to cover a guy who just lost his Dad, a valued part of our team who is always reliable, our team help each other out. 3 of us doing one night each at the moment then I think he's off another few days on the rota after that.
Sooo. Plans for today, being lazy at the minute. I have shopping to pick up between 1 and 2 and a covid test I need to do and drop in to work on way to pick up shopping. When we come back I want to get the trailer tent sorted out, I've been threatening it all week and it's only half done. I might get a batch of low carb cooking on the go soon. Throw rattatouille in the slow cooker, make a batch of coconut flour muffins and a set of low carb naans, I have chicken curry on the menu over the next few days and I like using them to make pizza anyway. All of those can freeze. I might pick something else to try as well altho I'll be lacking the ingredients probably! I have last nights chicken carcass in a pot too, to make soup. I usually make a curry out of the leftovers but there won't be enough this time. I've a butternut squash sitting that needs roasted, will probably get that cooked as well. So I guess it could be a busy cook day - but as I'm about to start 6 nightshifts it feels wise. See if I can minimise the damage I do this week. See if I can get my bag packed for work tonight with low carb friendly fayre.
Son is being picked up by his Dad at 5pm, daughter is going out so me and the pup will have a nice walk around then. I'll probably try to fast until after the dog walk, but it's a change over day I'll not worry too much.
I'm excited that I lost 2lb
