Daily chat...

Vickki - your poor mum! I'm hoping for good answers for you both.

I'll be thinking of you Vickki...
Easter I'll be in the UK and will walk to my sister's (4.5 miles along a very straight boring road... alone cos no one else is daft enough to walk!). Then Dukan friendly lunch! (then back to my father's, cos he's going out, to catch up on the Soaps we'll have recorded!!)... and have a siesta! It usually takes me a weekend to catch up on the best part of a night's missed sleep when travelling in a car overnight!

Positive thoughts from me too, Vickki. xxx

Easter - we have friends coming for the weekend and more friends added into the mix for Easter Monday. Kids still have a fortnight of school (they break up just in time for Easter) then husband has a week off for their second week - starting to plan that week just now!

Sending positive thoughts Vickki.

Easter I have no plans, just any other weekend but will have to remember to food shop on sat as everything is shut sunday.

did anyone get the dukan email today trying to flog " natural " appertite surpressants ...mmmmmm dont know what to say on that

as for easter ............... the kids will have been off school two weeks then so killing each other , chocolate will be their day and no doubt a chicken for me

I've not received that yet... but I'm sure I will! (I read somewhere that the konjac noodles are an appetite suppressant - and that's not the ONLY reason they're regularly appearing in my menus at the moment!!)

Easter going to be quite a workout!
The heavy snowfall damaged the roof and drainage on my home, so I have roped in the family to dig and carry and heave and dredge with me, in return for a bbq (which is at least Dukan friendly!).

Hope the weather stays fine...

ooooh dear... I had to reread your email twice, because I was trying to figure out where you were in the UK to have had a snowfall this weekend, then I realised what you meant!

Well - I did wake up to snow just 3 weeks ago. My home is north of the Wall, and it's cold up there. This winter the first snow fell on Nov 24 and by Nov 28 was deeper than most of the sheep are tall. It stayed on the ground continuously until well into the first weeks of January.

I had to move out and in with family, then back down to London to work - I can't fix the roof or the flooding or the frost damage until the ground is dry enough to allow a 4 wheel drive through!

Hence - busy Easter, with lots of friends, lots or exercise and lots of chicken and steak on the bbq!

That sounds wonderful Atropos! I bet you have some fabulous photos (but I now have visions of the poor sheep...).

How is everyone? Temperatures cooler outside, I hear, which is a drag after such summery weather :)

Morning Jo! (and everyone else)

Weather definitely not as good as recent days. It's overcast and much cooler. I still put the washing out to dry though - no rain forecast for this week.

Starting the Spring cleaning today (yawn), mainly decluttering (vide grenier at the end of the month). Decluttering at the library too this afternoon - much more interesting though - I don't mind decluttering books, especially when they're not mine!

btw, Jo. Patricia Cornwell - Black Notice is yours for the taking - PM me if you're interested.:)

Theres a beautiful blue sky here today, much nicer than yesterdy morning, though still a bit cool.

School holidays mean emptier buses (and office) so much nicer journey to work.

They looked so miserable - just little black faces marooned in an expanse of soft powder snow...

My nieces had the same problem - it was almost over their heads, and it was too dry and powdery to climb on top of. They weren't impressed.

One day just after Christmas the 3 year old came to me at the window and stared mournfully out at the white landscape.
"Auntie" she sighed "I remember, once, a long long time ago, there was grass. And flowers".

Ahhhh :) the time scales of a 3yr old - I can relate to that comment!!

Sunny hello from here. It's gorgeous but chilly (very windy) outside.

A bit of blatant advertising coming up!

Anyone in / near Cambridge: come to a brilliant concert on Saturday:

I love snow, but I've certainly never seen as much as you're describing Atropos!

Anja... would love to but...

Robin- the story looks familiar (that's the trouble with the Scarpetta series - I know I've not read them all,but can never figure out which ones I have and haven't!) so I've sent an email to the OH back home who remembers plots far better than I do! Thank you!

Morning!

Hope everyone's well today, nice out but very windy - off for a walk anyway.

Good luck for your concert, Anja. Get it up on You Tube then we can all have a listen.:)

Snow, pah. I don't love it. Hope you get your Easter repairs done with no hitches, Atropos.

Jo, PMd you re book.:)

HI everyone, another nice-ish day today though it's gone cold again!

Sorry about the youTube but no can do, I'd be in trouble with the PRS and the musicians over that ;-)

Other [Mendelssohn's Elijah] performances on there, but the one I just found cut the Overture off the first chorus and it's the transition that's my absolute favourite moment of the piece so I won't bore you with the link!

Sorry I've been quiet - I'm busy at home and at work...

Cheers Robin!

The sun is flickering in and out but there is a much cooler chill to the air... (and here was I hoping to bring summer gear to the UK Friday week!)

It's definitely cooler - there is a real nip in the air. But (so far) at least no snow!

The sheep seem to have survived the winter quite well - there are lambs in the valley already, and the hill sheep will be mums very soon as well. There are much fewer twins this year, mind you, thanks to that weird alchemy that allows animals to regulate how many offspring to carry to term ...
