Daz FINALLY has a food diary

Hmmmmmmmm that looks so yummy, did you make it?

Indulgence after taking a very long walk (in my situation) along a very narrow path, with no walking stick. Felt so good and in need of a small reward.

indulgence Kay, probably not good for the waistline. lol.

a sachet of low fat jelly crystals, a broken up orange or 2, a couple of sponge fingers per glass/dish. Pour the prepared jelly over the orange segments and broken fingers, allow to set. Top up with custard from a 1 ltr low fat custard carton, top with a lite squirty cream and grate some chocolate over.

Make it one sponge finger per serving and i doubt that it is that bad really. Hope not anyway as i have eaten 2 today. haha.

Its sugar free custard, not low fat, doh, was late, lol.

It was made with every intention of being a proper trifle. As i said, indulgence.

I have just checked slimming world and the sponge fingers are actually only 1 syn each. And the advantage of making them in individual dishes is that you get full control of how many fingers you want in each one. So all in all its actually not that bad an indulgence.

Hartleys sugar free jelly crystals per sachet 1.5 syns
Basic sponge fingers 1 syn
Low fat custard per portion 4.5 syns (100ml)
Basic aerosol cream 2 level tbsp 0.5 syns

So my version, with a tiny bit of grated chocolate, was around 8 syns. Going by the 15 syns per day rule, thats 2 per day as long as a brisk 10 minute walk is had after to lose the 1 extra syn.

But yes, real cream would totally blow it.

All good Kay thanks, hope you are good.

To be fair, the sundae glasses are possibly to big for a trifle anyway. Smaller pot like dishes and i would guess that the portions could be

(lets be tight)
6 portions (bear in mind the jelly can be boosted. I actually forgot to say that i had 2 full sized orange segments in each glass. Mixed fruit would work, strawberries, etc)

Share the jelly between 6 cups/bowls/pots (i did 4)
Use only 65ml of the custard on each (i used 100ml per glass)
Half a sponge finger (i used 2 each)
Just the 2 tbsp cream (i used 4 ish)

Smaller individual portion but this time less than 4.5 syns (inc grated chocolate)

Dessert looks delish Daz and well deserved I reckon. Well done on the walk without the stick - progress indeed :D

Lol Daz that made me giggle.

Well - i went to Morrisons for fromage frais and bought ------ sponge fingers and squirty cream - 2 things I never buy hehe

The squirty cream shocked me, really would never have thought it was that low in syns. I actually had a guilt thing going on because i couldnt get a low god knows what they call it one, but hey, half a syn for 2 tablespoons is a result.

I will say though that as nice as it is, the 100ml of custard is probably a little too much for the amount of jelly. Maybe with more fruit it will equal itself out.

Well if I can use it before son gets his mitts on it I will lol - Im just looking for different ideas for meals and desserts. Trying to mix things up to get this last 6lbs off grrr

Not really sure, you know me, i live a day at a time so don't really plan and have a need for recipe ideas. The advantage of having time i suppose. Although i would much sooner be better and back to work. Oh well. I have some recipe books here and i keep meaning to take a look and see if i can modify some things to make them friendly.

I have tons of recipe books I could make something different every day for at least a year, its difficult cooking for the boys (more so my son) cos hes so fussy, Im bad but he's worse. I could cook for me and OH but would still have to make something different for him. I made Katsu chicken curry tonight I didnt ask if he wanted any I just dished it up, he scraped all the sauce off the top of the chicken and ate the rice and chicken grrrr
