Daz FINALLY has a food diary

Well thats not good. Pffft.

I have only tried the 2 things so far, but really, that beef is to die for. I couldn't stop myself from eating the lot though, lol. Mind, i don't know what they think constitutes a portion, that recipe would not feed 4 people in many households. Could fill it will lots more veg i suppose.

Depending on whats in it, it will probably only need to serve 2 cos son is fussier than me lol

He would get a clip round the ear and told to do his own meals in my house, lol.

I just seem to be able to eat and not feel full since i had the stroke, its something that does make me wonder if something in the brain is affected as it was while i was in hospital afterwards that all the weight went on mostly. I never had an issue with weight before the stroke. The only thing i had was the belly, to which i am back at the same point now.

Lol If I could reach his ears he would he's too tall.

You could be right about the brain not knowing when your full, maybe something in time that you could research?

Yes i will look into it, i sat and ate a roast dinner yesterday, finished before everybody else, when i was always the slow eater beforehand, then had crumble for pudding, and i didn't feel as though i was full at all. And it wasn't small portions.

That's weird. I know there is a medical condition some ppl have which means they never feel full called prada will syndrome but its genetic I dont think it can be caused by a stroke :-(

Don't know, it maybe just how i have evolved, lol. Just strange that it all happened around the stroke. If i went for a meal i would struggle to eat a main course and starter or dessert, but now i can eat 3 courses and still eat more. Not that i do of course.

It is strange :-( the other part of your brain is obviously stopping you going totally off the rails with portions though

And i dont struggle with that, i dont have to fight a need to eat. I did succumb to the offer of a dark chocolate truffle yesterday, but that was only sue to being out and off plan anyway. Its like being late, what does it matter if its 5 minutes or an hour, its still late. I had just eaten a huge meal, a pudding, and had far too much beer on Friday and Saturday, what can a small truffle do? lol.

I have a box of Lindt chocolates here and i must admit im not certain how i haven't scoffed them. Chunky Kit Kat, that has to be my favourite themed bar, but otherwise anything dark, especially Green and Blacks 70% bars. mmmmmmmm.

I was watching Secret Eaters the other night & they did an 'experiment' with people who had alcohol & who didn't to see who would eat the most food, it was those who'd had alcohol apparently there is something in it that stops your brain telling you its full!!

Not sure i would take too much from this. Most people can eat a kebab if they have had enough alcohol, but it doesn't show anything towards an imbalance. How much alcohol, over how many days, when was the food eaten in relation to the alcohol intake, what is the tolerance levels of the individuals involved? After a night in the pub a lot of people can eat a huge takeaway on the way home, but can they eat as much the next morning?

As much as it was not healthy for me in any way i could take a high amount of alcohol due to my body being used to it coping with it on a daily basis. The end result as far as food was concerned was that i could not eat much, and after the stroke, with next to no alcohol intake for a lot of months, suddenly i can eat food by the lorry load. That's the opposite of the mentioned experiment.

Hey Daz I wouldn't read too much into it either, the 'experiment' was over day & with a group of people of a variety of ages & were offered a buffet afterwards!!!

Not really an experiment, in the true sense:cool:

I think i have given up trying to analyse everything. This last weekend i had lots of beer on the Friday and Saturday evenings, and a full blown roast with all the trimmings, followed by apple crumble, firstly with cream and then a second helping with custard, and also 2 chocolate truffles, and today i am only 1 lb away from what i was last Friday. I should be at least half a stone heavier going by slimming worlds rules.

My version of the Fakeaway book Turkey Kebabs.

i used what i had to hand, mushrooms, peppers, and red onion, rather than what they had listed, and i didn't go a lot on the yogurt version of the garlic dip so have done it with extra light mayo and garlic granules.
