Diary of a menopausal Yorkshire lass...

Tuesday 16th July

Don't know what was going on last night, but the app wasn't working and I couldn't be bothered to get my laptop out.
Today my MIL arrives from Inverness at the same time as I go to my brother's FIL's funeral. Why does everything happen at the same time?
I'm going to try to be good, but it's going to be a tricky few days...

A - Milk
A - Cheese
B - Oats
B - Chicken

Breakfast - muller and oats

Lunch -

Dinner - hunters chicken with new potatoes, peas and sweet corn
 
Not too bad thank you. Just taking it one day at a time.
 
Hi Mandy, you have a busy few days ahead of you so just do the best you can, if you have a few slip ups don't worry you can catch up next week.

Nothing new to report here, same story different day lol

Hi Mandy hope all is well with you. Back now after 2 weeks "partying"; resulted in me gaining 4lbs but today when I weighed in I had lost that 4lbs so really chuffed. Not doing much cooking as too hot. Eating mainly salads, fruit and yogurts and using my healthy choices on bread and cheese. Using syns for drink and nibbles.

Here we go again...
Am so ready for this, I feel bloated and horrible. I always think it's strange that when I let rip and eat anything I want I end up feeling rubbish.
A lovely peaceful weekend for me as OH is driving his mum back to Inverness and staying for a few days to catch up with friends and family. Timeout is exactly what I need after the last few weeks, I wouldn't be without my Hubster, but I lurve being on my own ;)
I haven't a clue what I weigh at the moment, there's a group on Tuesday night that might suit me so I'm going to try to get to that. If not I'm going to do it myself with help from this forum (thanks ladies) and weigh in at home on Wednesdays.
 
OH Mandy you don`t sound so good. It is funny how we feel rubbish after eating all in sight.
I do hope this time to yourself helps some. Maybe you could do some meal planning. lol

I don`t like having too much time to myself, the day tends to drag a bit. I knowI can always find something to do but don`t always feel like it. Take no notice of me, feeling a bit weird today. Sugars not feeling good.

Do you feel that you may feel easier doing it from home rather than a class? I prefer to go to class if only so somebody else weighs me.

When was the last time you were weighed. Can you pull back any damage by Tuesday. I`m sure you can.
Give it a try and post when you feel like it.

Hi Mandy I know what you mean about time on your own - love my OH to bits but time out keeps a marriage strong. I do SW online and weigh in at home on Thursdays. I can't get to a class so this forum is great for my motivation. Really helps to have like minded people around to keep me going. Whichever route you choose we can all do this together. Good luck

I'm fine honest, just enjoying the peace before Rob arrives back with a bag full of washing lol.
I think I would rather go to a group, but my old Wednesday one isn't possible now I have to run my Mum about more. I could do a 7.30 group, but once I'm in from work and settled I can never be bothered to move again, so I'm going to see if the Tuesday one works in ok. Other than that I'm happy to go it alone, though I might pester you endlessly for tips :D
 
Sunday 21st July - Green Day

I really haven't got a clue! I seem to plan my meals around stuff that is sw friendly and what Rob will eat - now I can have what I want I really don't know...
I am going to try the sw rice pudding later though.

A - Milk

B - Oats

Breakfast - Porridge mmm

Lunch - Beans and egg on toast?

Dinner - Corned beef hash (found lurking in freezer) peas and sweetcorn

Snacks - Pear and ice cream, super noodles

Have done a HUMUNGOUS online shop, including a veg mountain that I'm determined not to let rot - weight loss here I come!!

I forget about the lowfat super noodles.I could take someof those with me tuesday. Don`t have to leave till 11am now as kids are in school till 3pm and daughter-in-law leaves at 11 and wants to give the dog an hour on her own in the new house. That alsomeans I get a couple of hours to sort my stuff and have coffee before going to school.

You are sounding much more positive today Mandy. Hope you have a good week.

The supernoodles are fab, but they've recently changed the recipe, and they're not quite as nice :(
 
Confession...

As you all know (says me talking to self lol) I've been having a dilemma about getting to a group, what to do, what to eat, what is the meaning of life etc etc...
Maybe the menopause is frying my last few working brain cells?
Anyhow, I've signed up to ww - don't kick me off here yet! - and have embarked on the menopausal Mandy's combo diet :devilangel:

I'm going to try their filling and healthy (sw rip off) but with sw principles, but I'll also be able to have tinned fruit, which I love and I know I'm not eating enough fruit, and a bit more bread. I'll also be able to have the occasional day counting, which will allow me to go to pizza express and have a yummy leggera pizza (my fave)

It may or may not work, but I'm going to give it a couple of weeks to see what happens.

I'm going to weigh myself at home on a Wednesday morning.
 
Monday 22nd July - Blue Day!!

Breakfast - Oats and ww yogurt (1)

Lunch - Hot and spicy chicken breast, ww pitta, lettuce

Dinner - Haddock, sw chips and peas

Snacks - pear halves and ice cream (2)

What I love about doing a different diet every other day, is I still actually eat the same!!

I'm still feeling really motivated, and am almost looking forward to getting weighed in the morning so I know where I'm at.

I will be very interested to see how you get on, its years since ive done ww so im sure its all changed, when you get time will you explain how it works please.

we were both thinking the same at the weekend, i did a big tesco onling shop too, i forgot how nice it is to shop while im sipping a glass of wine lol
anyway good luck with this weeks diet,,,,,whatever works mrs x
