Diary of a menopausal Yorkshire lass...

Hi Mandy hope your having a good weekend.
We have tried nearly all the pasta and sauce range and personally the only one I like is the Macaroni cheese one... I think it's nice topped with some chopped up smoked rashers, mushrooms and cooked cherry tomatoes.
They can be a bit bland so need some extra flavours added in but are very handy when your in a hurry to eat
Hope your mums keeping well and your having a bit of time for yourself too
I had planned to do some gardening today but its too hot here, maby later, I just need to keep myself away from the chilled wine lol

Hi Moira,
It's too bloomin hot for me! My mid life crisis husband has bought himself a ford capri *hangs head in shame* so we've been belting round the countryside with no air con (it's amazing how soft you get) and the worlds hardest suspension. I've been desperately trying to smile and be enthusiastic while secretly wanting to throttle him...
Your day in the garden with a book sounds much more fun!
Mum isn't doing too bad thanks, she's pretty fed up about losing her independence, but we're getting closer to a routine that works for us both.
SW has gone to the dogs this weekend - oops! Will be back at it tomorrow x

The first day I'll miss my class :( there is no way I can manage to get there anymore, so now I need to find another and pluck up the courage to go! No point this week cos my MIL is coming to stay next week, so I'd have to miss it. Bit fed up about it tbh.
On a brighter note, it's my day off, it's not silly hot and all I have to do today is sort my Mum out.

Thursday 11th July

Yesterday turned out to be a complete disaster, I was so fed up I hit the fridge BIG TIME! Have kicked my own butt, drawn a line under it and am going to try to find another meeting I can get to. The only trouble is I definitely won't be able to go until the week after next and anything could happen between now and then...

Oh it is so difficult isn`t it. We know all the keep positive cliches there are don`t we. I am not keen to go to weigh-in tomorrow but know I should but am sure have put on at least a pound and it was so nice losing the last 3 weeks I don`t want to loae that feeling. I may leave it till Saturday as there is another class 10mins away - I am a coward.

I probably help you Mandy to find another class. I always feel better to weigh in a class than at home. I feellike I am owning up to it. What do you think.

Keep trying for the next two weeks and see how it goes. I feel for you.
Doreen

Aw, thank you both, it helps a lot getting support.
I'm pleased to report that I was good today! I tried the chick pea dahl loaf for tea, it was interesting and very filling, I'm not sure I'll make it again though!

Hey Moira! I did sit in the garden and drink wine...
I've found a Tuesday 6 o'clock class that would fit in, but can't go next week because MIL is arriving from Inverness. I just hope I'm motivated enough to go by then, I sort of feel like everything is slipping away at the mo.
Hope it's a bit cooler tomorrow x

Saturday 13th July

For some reason I've woken up feeling motivated. I think having yesterday afternoon to myself doing what I wanted to do for a change did me the world of good. I wish I could get to a meeting next week, but don't think it'll be possible with having MIL here and also a funeral to go to. I've just been flicking through the new mag and have a few meal ideas to try and add a bit more variety.
Can you chop and change which meeting you go to, or is it best to stick to the same one?

I'm delighted to hear you all motivated for the week. I think you should stop stressing about weigh in at class for the next few weeks, just keep doing the plan and you will have a great result when you do get back to group. Sometimes I think we put ourselves under far to much pressure to do everything.
So go easy on yourself and enjoy your new recipes,I'm dying to hear all about them.

You can changed meetings Mandy tho` it is best to go to either a morning or an afternoon group. If you swap & change it messes up the weigh in a bit.

I am lucky as my consultant runs 2 morning groups, Thurs & Fri so I go to either.

There is one slight problem, if you let them know you are not going say tomorrow because of being on holiday you don`t have to pay. However you have to go to your home group the week you go back as it is only registered on your home group. So you would have to pay.

Don`t know if you know you get 6 weeks either sick or holiday per membership year.

Hope that makes sense. xx

Think you've hit the nail on the head there Moira, I need to cut myself some slack. I'll get next week out of the way and take it from there. Thanks for your support - it's a great help x

Thanks Doreen, I think I need to see how things go over the next few weeks, at the mo it's going to be hit and miss getting to group, and I wouldn't know for sure until just before, so it could work out expensive!
On a happier note I'm still feeling very motivated - must have had a bump on the head :)
