Diary of a menopausal Yorkshire lass...

Hey Missa, I'm not too bad ta, I think if I get a good nights sleep I'll be fine tomorrow.
How are you doing? X

I'm ok thanks. I'm so glad its the weekend. How's your mum foing?

Me too, I need a break!
She's not too bad ta, a bit fed up now reality has kicked in, and it's sunk in that she can't drive anymore.

Morning diary

Had a better nights sleep, but still feel a bit blurgh. I'm going to have an easy day today with nothing more than a bit of washing and ironing. My stomach doesn't feel to bad at the mo, maybe oats and muller is better for me than bran?

Saturday 29th June - Green Day

A - milk
A -

B - oats
B - tuna

Breakfast - oats and muller

Lunch - dunno yet

Dinner - maybe tuna balls in tomato sauce with pasta? If I can find my recipe.

Snacks - tbc

Yep oats will be less work for your intestines.

Thanks Doreen, it's nice to get a bit of support. I've phoned my brother today and asked for some help, I can't manage everything on my own anymore. He's going to go see Mum this weekend and offer to take on shopping duties, the trouble is my Mum expects everything her way at her time, David rightly says she'll have to be flexible. It'll be an interesting conversation and I'm not expecting a happy outcome, but it's worth a try...

I am sure it will help if you can do it between the two of you. D-in-law mum is down this weekend to have her haircut. She has driven nearly 80 miles to get here yesterday and asked me today to take her 10mins drive to the hairdresser cause she feels nervous. !!!
I told her `no` as she lived here for years knows where to go and was quite capable to drive herself. grrrrrr

It is frustrating and she ain`t my mum.

Enough twaddle, I hope things get better for you especially your Mum. If someone is a bit selfish it is so hard to please them. Here`s hoping you and your brother together get somewhere. Good luck. xxxx

Mandy, I take buscopan. I have gallstones and have had them for some years. One day the pain was so bad the doctor sent me for another scan. They had not got any bigger but he offered me an op. Nooo I said. Not another. So he gave me Buscopan. Now sometimes the pain/discomfort I get is not like the gallstone pain.

Anyway he told me that if I got the pain to take a tablet to see if it helped. If not take another later as per prescription. It always stops it. Hope this works for you.

Google them. sometimesthat gives you ideas. Also I don`t eat if feeling the `discomfort` until tablets work.
When I get the pain it makes me bend over to try and stop it.
Don`t know if this will be of any use for you.

Gallstones are the worst pain EVER :( I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. I had them but didn't know what it was for a while....they thought it was ulcers till I was rushed in hosp, had my gallbladder removed and instant relief. Xx

Sorry about your mum hun :( I was my mums sole carer for years after my dad died (she was hit by a drunk driver & was in a wheelchair, then when she got cancer it was solo draining trying to cope with it all swell as working. My bro lived less than a mile away but did nothing....just made the obligatory visit when he felt 'pressured' even when I ended up having brain surgery he STILL didn't help ! My son had to take over from me a bit......its hard work sweetie, I feel for you xxx

Thank you so much for your kind replies, its good to know someone is listening. My tum is feeling a bit easier today, reading up I can only think it's ibs. I was always under the impression that it was toilet troubles, not the cramps I've been getting, but I've found out otherwise. Buscopan does seem to help.
Dizzy, you poor thing and your poor Mum. It makes my situation seem like a walk in the park! My brother is pretty much a waste of time too, I've not heard if he's contacted my Mum yet and I'm not holding my breath that anything will be sorted.
Keep your fingers crossed for me x

Right then, I so need to get organised. I seem to have been rushing round with a list of jobs as long as my arm for ages!
Things seem to have settled down *touches wood* at the moment, so hopefully I can get back into some sort of routine. I'm a bit of a saddo and like my routines lol.
So here we go again...

What is JP Mandy.

Pasta bake, love it. Must do an ee and make myself one. How do you do yours?

It's me being lazy - JP is jacket potato!
I use the homepride pasta bake sauce, my fave is tomato and bacon 7.5 syns for a third of a jar, my husband has the other two thirds, but it's also nice cold the next day if there are any left overs.

Hi Mandy how's life.
Just had a wee catch up in your diary and I'm glad to see your brother will be helping out with your mum, there's only so much one person can do.
Hope your stomach cramps have settled down, remember the increase in all the fruit and veg your eating has probably caused the problem, I take 2 buscopan at a time to ease the ibs when it flairs up and ponstan forte too if I need it.
Give it a wee while but defo get yourself checked with the doctor if it continues

Chat later x

So good to have you back Moira! It hadn't crossed my mind about all the fruit and veg, but it's bound to have had an effect hasn't it? It seems to have calmed down at the mo, and I'm going to avoid my usual bran flakes because they really set me off.
