Oh now that's just mean. :cry:
I had a good day today, did a 2hr bike ride and walked on beach. I did have some apple pie which probably negated my good work from bike ride
Ah well. Strictish again tomorrow methinks. I had about 1700kcals excluding whatever I could take off from the bikeride which is something like 600 so... shouldn't in trouble yet??
I get confused. Ah well. School again tomorrow... blah. Have to get up early, I suck at that..............

Nah. Would have done you loads of good. Reinforcing good habits, good for lungs, heart etc. All part of the healthy lifestyle. All good :clap:

I'm too obsessed with the calories to even think about those things, honestly. It's quite terrible isn't it?? I did enjoy it and consciously have it and all.. Calories, calories.......
Pfff. I feel a wee bit obsessive now, really I do. I know it's good for me but I just... arggh, can't vene explain it. It's late, that must be it. Almonds stink! Grrr boo almonds. They're too posh and expensive!! :cry:

But normal at the beginning of maintenance. If anything, I think it's important to be a bit obsessed for a while until you gain confidence.
Anyway, I admit, I surrender
but then I go away and think..but I wanted to say X and Y:cry:so I'm back
What I wanted to write was something you probably know, and what I hope will happen with you.
I had always thought of lifestyle changes in terms of weight. Losing weight, maintaining weight. Everything revolved around weight. I exercised to control/lose weight. I chose my foods to control/lose weight.
I get it now. It isn't about weight. Not when you've settled into maintenance. It's about lifestyle.
So I exercise because I like to. It makes me feel good. If it didn't burn any calories, I would still do it.
I eat well, because I enjoy the benefits of good food. I like the fact that it doesn't control me any more and I can enjoy healthy stuff and know that it's helping protect me from all sorts of nasties later on. I don't want to stuff myself any more. Not because I'll gain weight, but because I don't like the feeling now.
It really has nothing to do with weight. If I was told that I could binge forever more and not put on weight, I probably wouldn't want to.
My whole attitude to this lifestyle change has...well...changed
I do believe I understand what 'they' were on about now Okay..53 years late, but got there in the end

Yay for long posts.
I understand what you mean about having to settle in. I am very obsessed with exersize (mainly in my head but this weekend I did pretty well!!) and kcal etc.
I should really get over it but in the mean time it does sort of work for me.
I still have slip ups, yesterday I ate half a packet of cookies (gave other half to people around me thank god :')).
They were just too good. I know now I can't buy a pack of cookies; I need to buy those individually packed or packed per 2 things, makes it a lot harder to go wild on
I am learning though and I think I'm doing relatively well. Right now I'm just obsessed about the kcals on some moments and though I know it's needed I'm not really sure it's good.
Ah well.
Time wll tell.
Been good today, had 380kcal so far. Will be having some grapes soon <3 Love em.. and maybe a muesli bun later on if I'm hungry.

Too right you're doing well - it's been a while since you first started your maintenance diary and though you've had your up days and your down days you've always stayed within your limits or if not then made up for it the very next meal/day.
Keep going you are doing fab xx

Hi i've been reading your diary and just wanted to say well done, you've done great losing the weight and you seem to be doing really well with maintaining. I've got a long, long way to go before i'm there but enjoy reading how other people are getting on with maintaining.

I guess you're right hun. Haven't had week-long binges or anything yet. Doubt I will but you never know ;-)
Will be at about 1445 kcal with dinner (dinner will be chicken sate, prepackaged so 300kcal, and Rosti (calced 350 for that) and veggies with sauce calced 150 to be safe) so most my kcal came out of dinner lol
Just feel like the world ends when I've had too many kcal.

I know I loved reading what the maintainers were doing but there wasn't a lot of that around when I started. That's why I'm so glad this forum was made, I think it can really help both us maintainers and also you guys

Oh yes, terribly shy. They refuse to be seen really.
Taking it for walks everyday is good! You have to feed it well though or it might start crying!

Yes, they are quite demanding really!!
But... you get your moneys worth I guess, they really are good pets.
