Ding Dong the Enemy's dead!

Oooh love the sound of your supper! Love having little bits like that with a dip - loverly aint it! :D x

Oh yes I love it too, infact, I am just about to head to the kitchen to get it now.

I have to work an extra shift this weekend, Saturday dayshift, so at least that will save some calories from Friday, as we intended to go out in the afternoon, which usually leads to a binge the following day.

Food yesterday.

Breakfast - Fruit and fibre with semi skimmed milk.
Dinner - Small portion of pasta, bolognese.
Snack - 2 oatcakes (I had to buy them yesterday lol) and a slither of cathedral city.
Supper - Nibbled at crisps in a bowl, half a slice of bread with jam.
Drinks - 3/4 bottle of white wine and HALF A BOTTLE OF BAILEYS - xmas feeling fast approaching.

Food today.

Breakfast - 2 slices of wholemeal seeded bread toasted with a scraping of lurpak, with grilled bacon (fat removed)
Pub lunch - Hot madras curry, half rice, half chips.
Snack - packet of crisps.
Supper - something light, but not too sure what yet.

I am suffering at the moment with hot flushes, I dont know when I last had a whole nights sleep without waking up drenched in sweat! Do any of you know any natural remedies which work for menopausal symptoms?

Half a bottle of baileys!!!  lol!!!!!!!! I hope you're head wasnt too bad today! xxx

Haha, it wasn't too bad at all, my neighbour brought the bottle of Baileys around, and we both had 3 rather large glasses then the bottle was empty, good night though.

Lovely neighbour! But seriously lose the christmas spirit for a few weeks please lol. I love port and sherry but only drink it at xmas, same with cheeses and mince pies, nooooo its too early!

Re: Soon be Xmas

So Tanya is that 57 nights of half a bottle baileys, cheese board and mince pie fest? If so I better go to aerobics and take up running...every day lol. Wouldn't it be bl**dy brilliant if you could though eh drool.

Re: Soon be Xmas

Love them, esp the tesco mini ones. Also love brussels pate on toast with cranberry sauce and with oatcakes and cheese biscuits, you can see where i'm going here lol. xmas for me is about family, the kids, but also food. I shall indulge and enjoy but try and keep the good days here and there too, now THAT will be hard!

Re: Soon be Xmas

Mmmmmm pate on toast!!!!

Sorry Mary (she said - sticking her nose in the air and studiously ignoring all talk of Christmas and Christmas food!) ... I must have tried every herbal/natural remedy under the sun but never got any relief from hot flushes until I went on HRT. I've had to come off it now but fortunately they're not as bad as they used to be. I only have about 2 or 3 an hour now whereas they used to be about every 10 minutes - literally! It's horrible how they wake you up though isn't it? :( I even paid £90 a month for 3 months for chinese herbal stuff which was totally and absolutely DISGUSTING! AND it didn't work! I hope you do better than I did and one of the many remedies works for you!
Hate to say it but alcohol does make them worse you know (don't hit me ;)) xx

Thanks Jan. I still have them as bad on the nights when I dont drink alcohol, and I am one of the every 10-15 minutes flushers. They dont come as regularly during the day, maybe 2-3 an hour, but come early evening and all night long, I am like one wet chick..........gross!

There were a few things mentioned in a magazine the other day (I forget the name) so Phill is off to the Herbal shop later to get some for me to try, as I am in work today.

Now now girlies, all this talk of mince pies........yummm.

Hi Mary, hope you don't mind me butting in..... I put off taking HRT for two years as I just didn't want to and was scared by some of the potential side effects etc......but I've been on it for nearly two years now and have never looked back. I'm on an oestrogen only pill, just one in the morning and no more sweats or flushes....tropical moments I used to call them! Cheaper than central heating though x

Thank you Sandra, and no of course I dont mind you giving any advice or help on the subject.

My Husband has just called me and the Herbal shop I thought of, is no longer there. I will have to wait until Wednesday and have a trip to Port Talbot and see if I can get the ones mentioned in the magazine article.

I am trying to put off the use of HRT due to medication that I take for my heart, but I will try for another few months with some natural remedies before heading back to the Doctors. I cant possibly carry on like this as I dont know last when I had a full nights sleep without waking up every hour or so.

I bet you feel so much better with no tropical moments - you lucky woman :)

Thank you for your advice, it IS appreciated.

Tropical moments! :giggle:

I've got all this to look forward very soon I think. My mum started the menopause at 37 and seeing as I'm 40 now I think it could just be round the corner. My sister's 43 and has already started the symptoms. Can't wait (not). I'm taking onboard all advice about this cos I hate getting hot flushes if I'm ill or anything anyway.
