Ding Dong the Enemy's dead!

Yeah, its just a shame I have to work tomorrow night, so I will be straight home from the funeral and off to bed.

I did plan on having it off, but I would then have had to work on Monday night, but on Monday we are down Pontardawe all day with my neighbour and our two dogs for grooming and a one to one therapy session for Spike. I then have a mammogram on Tuesday morning at 9:25, so I decided not to go to the wake and work on Saturday. I will have a drink for her on Sunday.

Oooh yer prob best to have the Monday off then :) xx

Hope the funeral went ok Mary.......as I said to my sister, I suppose we will be going to more as we get older......just wish that they weren't friends who have been taken too soon.

Good luck with the mammogram too, I had one on Monday, bloody undignified isn't it? X

Sorry, am v tired........ Hope it's ok......well as ok as it's possible for funerals to be x

Hope it all goes okay Mary. These things tend to put our lives into perspective don't they? :(

They say live for the moment and live every day as if it was your last and I agree to a point. Only trouble is if I really did that seriously I would be the size of a house! ;) xx

Oh absolutely Jan, I too would be the size of a house.

Yes, circumstances that happen, sure put tings into perspective. I guess we only have a short time on this earth and I believe in living life to the full.

Me 3 girls!!!!

Well what a wonderful send-off Elaine had at her funeral today. The crematorium was packed and people were standing outside with the doors opened to hear the service.

They played Bette Midler 'Wind beneath my wings' before the service started, then 2 traditional hymns. The song that was played as everyone was leaving really brought a lump to my throat. It was 'Over the Rainbow' but it was like a soft reggae version that I have never heard before, and it was really lovely.

When we got home, the postman was just passing, and I had a letter from New Zealand to let us know one of our dear friends, Bea had passed away. Bless her, she was only 54! She suffered for a few years with really bad arthritis, then she had lung and heart problems. She died peacefully in her sleep with her Husband holding her hand.

RIP Elaine and Bea.

Aw glad your friend had a lovely send off today. Would live to hear that version of over the rainbow myself....

Sorry to hear if your other friend passing Mary :( but a little comfort to know her husband was there with her.

Xx

Absolutely, and he is a really caring guy, so I am happy that she passed peacefully with him by her side.

Brings things into perspective for deffo.

Glad your friend had a good send off Mary and really sorry to hear about the other one! There is a message there you know ... you'll know best what it is as it will be personal to you but don't ignore it! :)

Sorry you've gotta work ... I'll have a Pinot for ya ;) xx

Oh Mary, I'm so sorry. It just seems so wrong to be losing friends like this, it's been two for me two in the last month, both in their 50's.....
