Bit of a change to the day as above, I had my bran flakes with banana then went to bed at 12, I woke at 2pm with a strange feeling in my stomach, and I actually thought it was a craving for a cigarette, so I just told myself all the sensible thoughts, but the feeling was getting worse - I then realised it was not a craving, but actually that old darned horrible shaky feeling when you need something to eat - I went downstairs and ate 3 small tangerines, and a yogurt, half a pint of water and a cup of tea.

Well obviously I didn't want dinner then before I came to work, so I just had 2 stuffed mushrooms and 2 tiny roasties.

I will have my Steak, Pots, Salad and Mushrooms tonight.

Strangely enough, I have monitored this shaky feeling, and all the time I get it (apart from once) was when I eat cereal WITH fruit in the morning. I might google it all later on as I think its to do with the sugar levels rising because of the fructose in the fruit.

Otherwise - fine and dandy.

Most of what I am reading reckons it could be hypoglaecemia (sp) but usually just caused by the fruit, recommended to eat protein at each meal. Might invest in some cottage cheese and on the days I do have cereal and fruit, I could just have a ryvita with a spoonful of cheese or an egg, or maybe even just use a hard boiled egg as a snack an hour or so after the cereal and fruit.
 
Yeah that's what Jenna's got (DD) Reactive Hypoglycaemia (sp?) and I often wonder if I've got it too. Waking in the night with the pounding heart - having that shakey feeling etc etc ... don't get diagnosed though coz they tell you you can't have alcohol!! ;) .... when you don't know ......!! ;) xxx
 
Hahaa, they tested me for it about a year or two ago, just with the pin prick, and my blood level was normal, but I wasnt experiencing the shaky feeling at the time - :)

It doesn't happen often enough to worry about or seek the advice of the Doc to tell me to stop drinking, so I will just stick to the rules when eating cereal and fruit and have a bit of protein ;)
 
Good Idea!

The test Jenna had was a fasting blood test 1st thing in the morning then she had to drink a glucose thing and have another blood test 2 hours later. xx
 
I would look for that test if it was causing me serious problems, or happening too many times.

Have you noticed anything similar when you get the shaky feeling Jan?
 
Funnily enough I was only thinking the other day that I haven't had that feeling for ages! (fingers crossed!) ..... maybe because I've been eating so well (last week excepted of course) - I don't know xx
 
Probably right Jan. When I bring a shake to work for breakfast, I never get it, its only after the cereal and fruit - oh well, will keep an eye on it anyway.
 
You are doing fab Mary. You should be really proud of yourself! Wierd about the shaley thing but I'm glad you seem to have an answer to it!

Well I woke up really early today and went downstairs for a cuppa, and I had some breakfast, bran flakes and SS milk, a tangerine then I went back to bed, then I realised, I wasnt going to eat breakfast cereal with fruit unless I had protein :confused: so I went back down stairs to have a yogurt :D

Food today.
B - Bran Flakes, SS Milk, 1 tangerine, 1 yogurt.
L - 1 large fish finger, salad. 1 Banana, 1 pear.
Supper in work - W/M roll, prawns, rocket and mayo lite. Side salad. Yogurt and 2 kiwis.

Snacks - found a packet of fruit pastilles in the drawer and nibbled at them :rolleyes: Mental note not to go looking for any more sweets!

News on the enemy - not missing him one bit, and feeling good. Got a bit of a chesty cough appearing though - must be all the muck coming up :p
