Ding Dong the Enemy's dead!

I'm really confused about calories in apples. Do the calories depend on the weight of them?

I have two calorie books:

Thorsons Calorie counter and The calorie bible.

Thorsons says calories in raw, peel and flesh apples are 60-65 calories. But the calorie bible has says they're around 80 or go into a lot of detail like weight and stuff. I dunno which is correct.

I weigh mine Yasmine and then work it out from the calories per 100g. If I buy a bag of apples though and they all look the same size, I just weigh the first one and then count all others at the same calories.

I see. I guess I'll leave it at 80 then, the more calories written even though I haven't taken in that many will just benifit me in a way I guess :)

Cant say I have heard that Ollie, but if its true, I will be living on apples :D

There is a "negative" calorie diet that was doing the rounds a while back. Not sure if I have a book in electronic format somewhere...I'll have a browse at home this evening if I remember. It's probably hidden amongst the GI, Calorie and Recipe books I downloaded whilst on TFR! ;)

Oh you have downloaded calorie information?
Where'd you get that from?

Oh I see :)

Oh yes please, that would be great :D

No I think I'm good thanks :)

apples = neg cals?!!?! banging if its true im following kered and living on apples!!! :rotflmao:

Oh I know Ollie, I am so looking forward to seeing my Son this weekend, but alcohol and chinese is on the menu for Saturday night, and I am not in charge of the kitchen lol.

Enjoying refeeding, just adapting it now to calories, but struggling to get the required 1200 calories per day, and they reckon its not good to have less. Bloody refeeds lol, its just as hard trying to eat more as it is trying to diet!!

Your menu's are looking good too, but probably a lot less calories than what I am taking.

Hope you have a fab time away, have you got much planned to do?

I read through Mary again to get tips on refeed for this week, so it's bad to have less than 1200 calories?

Why's that?

ooooh very interesting rach :)

That is so confusing!

Do the calories count or not? my book says there are calories in them, sites say they do as well.

I'd imagine they'd count yeah but if you are litterally just eating the foods on that list then in effect your not consuming any calories as your body uses more to burn them up.

If that makes sense!

Oh right! YAY! APPLES AND PINEAPPLES GALORE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

YUUUUUUUUUUM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Its some information I got from KD's threads, to do with the starvation thing, but you need to build up to it Yasmine, not straight away hun. Stick to your 1000 ish on the refeed, then give it a week or so and build up to 1100 etc until you are finding your ideal intake for maintaining.
