Ding Dong the Enemy's dead!

Yas is it Dark choc- you will generally find because its highter in cocoa solids you will only want a little at a time anyway. We are having a chocolate testing day in my office today - the girls have brought in 70% and 85% pure cocoa solid chocolate 9this means its generally less sugar and fat. i have only managed a small square of each! its made me feel really buzzed! Even on that tiny amount! Just not used to it! x

Most of it is milk choc. That's the problem.

Maybe break it up into small pieces and put in the freezer, then take one piece out a time? xx

Full confession from me today, I had a naughty day yesterday, not naughty in eating too much, but naughty in NOT eating enough.

Woke up at 12:30 after my nightshift. Had 2 cups of tea then me and OH went shopping. When we returned I had

1 boiled egg, salad, 1 piece of wholemeal bread from a small loaf and a cheese triangle - total 226 cals.

Then we had to go and pick up my Daughter and Grandson, because they are going away on holiday today, so we decided to have a few drinks.

After a couple of vodka's we had a wrap filled with chicken, salad, 0% greek yogurt etc which was a total of 256 calories.

That was all I ate yesterday, plus 6 vodkas - 600 cals.

Total 1104 calories, but not good calories.

I promise to be a better Mary today.

The question is....were you a happy Mary yesterday? :)

You're well in control Mary, so don't worry about it! ;)

Are you trying to lose more Mary or are you trying to maintain?

Just trying to maintain now Yasmine. I weighed today and lost 1lb though, but I will weigh officially tomorrow morning as I might have been a little de-hydrated with the vodka.

Oh I see, well congrats on the loss, better than gaining. But I guess that's not what you're aiming to do heh :p.

Is your calorie intake around 1000-1200? maybe you should add another 100 if you keep losing weight still.

I weighed the next day and I had a stay the same, so pleased with that.

My calories are approx 1400 per day.

Only 1 week left to the holiday so I am going to try this week to NOT count calories just to get used to it for when I am away.

Friday 22nd May
Breakfast, Porridge with half milk/water, sultanas and syrup
Lunch, Chicken salad.
Dinner, Lentil soup and a ham wrap.

Managed 2 litres of water.

Wow, well done. It's funny though, I mean, you drink vodka and have biscuits and stuff like that. I only had veg, fish, chicken, fruit and low fat yoghurt. How are you managing to stabilise? I gained and I followed refeed exactly as it said :(.

The vodka works its magic.......lol.

I dont know Yasmine, its just a case of we are all different and like you said in your other thread, you hadn't been to the loo today as you usually do, so that could have affected it.

Wondering why you need to take dulcolax though, my motions are normal with no need for laxatives, again the water should help that though.

I haven't been since eating. I think I have real issues with my bowels.

You would be best to try and take in foods which contain a good source of fibre as this should help things along the way.

What foods contain fibre?

Crystal Davis, United States

Dietary fibre is the part of a plant that provides and maintains the plant´s structure. Cellulose, hemicellulose, polysaccharides, pectins, gums, mucilages and lignins are dietary fibres. These fibres cannot be digested by the human body. For this reason, they can help correct disorders of the large intestine (colon), and keep it functioning normally. To increase the amount of fibre in your diet, you can include some of the following:

  • whole-grain foods (bran cereals, whole-grain pastas, brown rice) and breads (those made with whole wheat grains)
  • fresh fruits (including the skin and pulp)
  • dried or stewed fruits (such as prunes, raisins or apricots)
  • root vegetables (such as carrots, turnips or potatoes)
  • raw or fresh vegetables, such as cabbage
  • broccoli, dried peas and beans (e.g. kidney, lima beans, chick peas, lentils and soy beans), corn
Examples of low and no fibre foods are e.g.: white bread, sugar, meats and fish.

kered i got that calorie book today - I LOVE IT! hahaha
