Ding Dong the Enemy's dead!

I'm having your share as well as my own tonight Mary ;) ... We took 3 of the grandkids to the World Museum in Liverpool today. I may not eat as well as I could when they're around but crumbs I'm a hell of a lot more active!!

How old are yours Mary??

From Sept I've been asked to look after my middle son's 2 boys, 2 tuesdays a month - they're 1 and 2&1/2 ..... that'll be fun  - the others are 8 & 5 (eldest son's adopted 2) and 3 (stepdaughter's)... all boys xxxx

The Grandson I had up the other day is 7 but I also have a Grandson in Scotland who is 5, we dont really get to see him very much due to his Parents (My Son and his ex not together any longer) and I have another Grandson of 10. I love to see them, but I also love to see them going home........lol.

Thursday's Food.

Early morning snack (dayshift) small banana.
Breakfast - Porridge made with skimmed milk and water.
Lunch - Home made soup and ham salad sandwich on seeded wholemeal bread.
Snack - melon slices.
Dinner - Same as last night, beef casserole, fat free roast potatoes, cauli, savoy cabbage. Fruit and Greek yogurt if required.

oh you are making me sad. I have not seen my little 18 months old grandson all week, cos of this swine flu. I miss him.

Joy, just peel your spuds and chip them as usual, then I make the chips in two ways.

1 - Put chips into a food bag and add 1 tablespoon of olive oil, give it a good shake and place on a baking tray and cook for about half an hour in a very hot oven, I cook them around 220, turning them every now and again. During cooking you can always squirt them with frylite if they are drying out too much.

2 - Just place chips on a baking tray and give them a good squirting with frylite spray. Squirt with frylite during cooking if necessary. Again cook for the same time and same temp.

I love them and I make my roast potatoes in the same way now. You can also sprinkle them with anything while cooking. I like to sprinkle with sea salt and paprika, but you can use anything to your taste.

Ha Ha! I know what you mean .... I must have had a hell of a lot more energy 25 years ago when my 2 eldest were similar ages than I've got now! ;) xx

You're very good with your food aren't you Mary? - Put me and my picking to shame. xx

Hehehe, I know, but I cant drink on my 4 days in work, so I usually drink on 3 out of my 4 days off, but I might try and cut that down to 2 days.

Oh, I do LOVE your menus....you cook like my mum used to and it brings back lovely memories....good wholesome food!!

Aww Iris, I do cook exactly like my Mum used to do, and when my Sister comes to visit who is 8 years older than me, she always say my cooking is exactly like my Mums - so I take this as a compliment.

Friday's Menu.

Early morning snack - 1 small banana.

Breakfast - 35g porridge made with skimmed milk and water. 2 plums.

Lunch - 2 slices of wholemeal seeded bread with a scraping of low fat mayo, lettuce, cucumber, red onion and prawns. Strawberries, blackberries and 0% Greek yogurt.

Snack of 1 plum and 1 apple - while in work (if necessary).

Well just not organised today at all and feel very lazy...must have been the chocolate last night - nothing to do with the vodka!!

Nights tonight and I dont have a clue what I am going to take to work, done absolutely nothing all day except hang a load of washing out.

OH grilled some bacon this morning and I wasnt hungry, so I put mine to one side.

Up to now I have eaten:-

Midday - 2 slices of wholemeal bread toasted with 2 extra light cheese triangles and 3 rashers of bacon.

Will edit later once I have thought about what to eat and take to work with me. I hate feeling lazy like this.
