:8855::8855::8855: you need to invest in a Teas Maid!!! Tanya, we are showing our age (Mary and I) as you may not know what this is...or if you do, then I apologise for being presumptious!!!! :8855::8855:

Aww reminds me of the talk about old things the other day - I remember my Granny having a teasmaid. I used to love when she came to our house for the weekend in Ayrshire, she always shared a room with me, there were two single beds, and she would sit up in bed, with her bed jacket on, and a towel over the top of the sheet as she opened a bar of Cadbury's Dairy Milk and share it with me. Then drop her teeth in the tooth pot with Steradent!

Awww my wee Granny.

Anyway Girlies - I have been up since 4:50am, and much as I am loving having a chat and a good laugh here, I just must hit the sack.

Iris, I hope your Boss gets back to you soon, otherwise hun I would have to be in the mindset that I was working tomorrow with the hope of finishing on a half day.

Nitey nite all xxx

oh, what a lovely memory...although, not sure about the teeth though...:8855:

which part of Ayrshire Mary? have I asked you that before?

I worked in a rehab in Catrine, near Mauchline for years...loved it there..lived in as well..it is a bit run down now which is quite sad as it used to be a nice little town/village but when I went through it a few years ago was shocked at the state it was in.

Just read this as I was about to log off...............OMG, I am from Auchinleck, its only a couple of miles from Catrine.

What a small world.

I used to go to Auchinleck !!!!!! Oh my word! It is a small world.

Do you still have your accent Mary? I do.....although people in Glasgow say I have an English twang, but people down here say I am very Scottish but not broad Glaswegian!!

Eh - I used to have to go and do a big shop every fortnight in Kilmarnock....a shop to feed around 30 people! That was a nightmare! I loved Ayrshire, was hard leaving but had lived in for years and it was time to move on...and then I moved down here!!!!

I went out for a cigarette in my Turkish gazebo, but thought, I wont log off just yet, I need to see Iris's reply.

My Mum (passed away now) was a Hurlford Girl, but she moved to Auchinleck when she married my Dad.

Aye, I still have my Scottish accent, but it only seems to come out when I speak to someone from Scotland, but my family think I sound Welsh now, but this is just my "lets be understood accent".

In my eyes, I am still broad Scottish.

I was born in 1959 and married a fella from New Cumnock, I moved from Scotland just after my second Son was born in 1982 to Derbyshire, via my Ex Husbands Job, then I moved to Nottingham still with my ex Husband, via his job. Then we parted and I met Phill (Welsh). We married in 1988 and moved to Wales in 1989.
I still have a Brother in Dumfries, and 2 Sisters in Lancaster - we all meet up every now and again and still very close. I am the youngest at 50, the others are 58, 62 and 64.

I am waffling on a bit here huh!

Glad to know you still have your accent!!! :D

Derbyshire as well!! Where I live now......haha...whereabouts!

Small world Mary, small world!!!!

miles away from me..heheha.....but, I was sorting out something re Ilkeston today as I look after a shop there (utility manager)....does that count!! :8855:

Sure my friend's hubby came from Ilkestone...cant remember now!

I think where you are now is far nicer! I love Wales!!!!

Well after the meet in Liverpool, maybe we can arrange to have a meet in Wales. You are welcome anytime and at least your OH would feel at home as my gazebo is all dressed in Turkish Style lol.

Is it Glasgow you are originally from?

:8855::8855::8855: you need to invest in a Teas Maid!!! Tanya, we are showing our age (Mary and I) as you may not know what this is...or if you do, then I apologise for being presumptious!!!! :8855::8855:

 No idea what that is! :giggle:

Then drop her teeth in the tooth pot with Steradent!

Awww my wee Granny.

:8855:bless er!!!!!

So, did you two used to live near each other then?! Small world aint it!

We didnt live near each other initially, but Iris's work took her to about 3 miles from me, but she used to come to my village.......how uncanny is that Tanya?

Anyway, sorry to leave you on your night shift alone, but my eyes too are closing from the early rise today, so I am off to bed chick. Catch you tomorrow and hope your shift goes in quick Tanya. Nite nite hun xxx
