You are very lucky Mary......after writing it I realised that I probably spend more time with friends, than family! I suppose living so far away from them all, and 1 bro not talking to me, which upsets me no end! I think we are both being stubborn, but I dont know why he has fallen out with me....I think I need to make more of an effort with them all..bless, my sister phones me every week and I am never in and it is about 4 weeks before I get round to phoning her back!!! Bad or what!!!!!!!

Very bad - make more of an effort, and even if it means you making the first move, try and patch things up with your Brother.

Shuttle run, its a fitness test across a 20m distance. You have to run from one end to the other end within the beeps and after each level the time between the beeps gets shorter making you run a little faster.

The last time i did one was in school!!! lol

I dont think it is right, but I think they have to follow NICE !!! GRRRR........

Enjoy tomorrow Mary, as yes, they are saying it will be cooler..but I still think it will be nice. I understand that it is just going to be cooler by around 10 degrees, which is still fine....I know we were at 32 today! PHEW!!

Go easy on the voddie though....dont want you getting sunstroke!! Too near to your hols now!!!

I will not drink until about 5pm, and then the sun should have died down a little, but after working 5 x 12 hour shifts, I would imagine a few vodka's will soon have me in an early bed. Dont be alarmed if I dont get online tomorrow, as I dont take my laptop outside with me, as I can never see the screen :8855:

This is what OH keeps saying, but I think it is his wife....long story....but, you know, he and his wife had fallen out with mum and dad...and then mum died! He has to live with that..I remember when she died, and my bro came to the house and knocked ont he door and asked dad if he was welcome! I would hate for that to happen! The counsellor reckons that is something that is contributing to my bingeing! Could be right but I suppose I worry about how to go about it...

I did start sending Christmas cards 2 years ago and have had one back from them, so I suppose that is a start. I sent him a text at NY, but found out he had changed his phone!! haha..

I will Mary, I know I have to, just trying to muster courage and frightened incase I get a knockback and he doesnt want to know!!!!!!

Sad thing is, him and OH got on so well!!

Really make the first move with your brother! Go for it!

My grandma hadnt spoke to her brother for well over 30years then one day got in touch as she thought it was ridiculous and now they speak every single week without fail! Whatever it is that has driven your brother to not speaking to you atleast you will have peace of mind that you made the move, you want to patch things up so hopefully he will to

9th June!!!!! 9:30am ..... :fingerscrossed: the level i have to get is very low and apparantly if i can run for 30mins non stop then i will be fine. I have downloaded the audio though and will practice before it just to make sure!

I know where you are coming from Tanya, and sadly, we never were a close family...me and my bro (who is the minister) are close, but the others ...well,mum and dad kinda kept us together but with them gone now, we have just drifted, BUT I will do it!

Iris, your talk of your brother reminds me of mine. I have only one sibling and he did not speak to me for about 12 yrs. Long story but anyway, I never shut the door to him, emotionally. I sent him birthday and christmas cards every year and made sure mutual friends always told him I had been asking for him. Anyhow, just two years ago, he actually started speaking to me again. Seemed to forget he had not spoken to me for years and I did not bother going back over old wounds. We were never close as children, chalk and cheese and all that but he rings me now and again and we have called to each other once every few months. I am happy enough with that.
Reach out in small ways, no need to overanalyse. Respect each other's differences and deal with the common ground you have. Life is too short for sadness to linger in our hearts, imo.

Thats nice to hear that you have both made up and can at least share parts of your lives again. Really pleased for you Molly.

Well thats my 5 long 12 hour shifts over with, I can now have 3 lovely days off and hopefully catch some good rays in the garden this afternoon when I get up.
