Morning ladies, and lovely Sarah, and Steve if yr still awake but not hobbling round Asda...

Well, a quick synopsis is...

Work...dire

Lunchtime...brilliant...Sarah met me at the hospital and spent a lovely hour chatting and laughing at the patients!

Wi...lost half a pound

Food...Xmas meal out with gwyns old work colleagues at a country pub. Was very nice but far too much food!

We had Christmas lunch at friends this week and now I wonder why I was concerned about it being off plan.

Guess I should have consulted my 2 mega intelligent daughters first.

The pud. was apple and mincemeat tart with cinnamon and clotted cream. Was that syn free too. Oh and the Stilton mousse with cheese thins.............they must have been if I work on Sarah's theory. You gotta love that wee daughter of mine....................

Yup, Mumsie. Of course that was an on-plan meal.
Let me explain, like I did with Dawn's:

Apple = fruit = free food
Mince = free food
Meat = free food
Tart = not sweet = no sugar = syn free
Cinnamon = free food
And when they clot the cream, the syns all go into the liquid that gets thrown away = syn free

Stilton = cheese = Healthy Extra
Moose = free food
Cheese = Healthy Extra
Thins = Not fats = syn free.

Simple, isn't it?

I've got my own work Christmas do tonight, where I think I've made reasonable choices:
Melon & ham - Good.
Salmon - Good.
Chocolate torte... Ummmm, can somebody justify that as syn-free for me, please?

I've tried hard - very very hard - but apart from the
eggs (free),
cream (HexA as it's only thick milk) and
nuts (HexB which apparently a PROPER German torte is supposed to have in)
I can't justify the rest of the ingredients. I'll keep thinking . . .

Evening all x :wavey:

Got up this morning quite excited as there was quite a bit of snow coming down but it didn't last long...the rain washed it all away lol!

Made it into work early, despite the 3 hours sleep again, and we were incredibly busy. In fact it was manic, but the crews were all lovely today and just got on with it without too much moaning!

I forgot to say yesterday that my new uniform arrived yesterday...and I'm now the very proud and amazed owner of size 8 work trousers...and they fit!!! :bliss::bliss::bliss: In nearly 20 years of working in the service, I've never worn anything so small! I think 12's were the smallest I've ever got down to, so I'm completely over the moon!

Tomorrow afternoon I'm going with Gwyn to his choir rehearsal for his concert in the evening, as I'm doing the punch and mince pies so I need to sort the glasses out. Thankfully Vicki and Matt are helping me in the evening, as they do every year, as it takes ages to warm up the punch and get it poured out into over 100 glasses! arty0036:

So, that's about it for me. Fell asleep on the settee tonight so I suppose I'll be up all night again! At least I haven't got to get up for work!

Sarah - I really like the dress too. And I do think it is flattering - definitely shows off the assets very nicely indeed.
Mind you, black tights and boots (?) don't do it for me.
