Another champion breakfast.:)

Off into town in a while really looking forward to a day out with the family. Yesterday an unmentionable day I felt so flat and low :( but have nothing to feel flat and low about at the moment I am so much happier than I have felt for so long. I'm guessing hormones may play a part here. Now I write a diary and have a record of these day maybe I will find a pattern and then can be prepared for them.

Confident today will be a goodun'!;)

Ate all sorts of things I shouldn't have today but not going to worry unduly. Although I can't have another day of eating rubbish, my stomach and bottom won't tolerate it. I have noticed since coming off sole source that if I eat rubbish my body complains LOUDLY and uncomfortably:eek: I did eat my planned dinner of Grilled Cod and aubergines, tomatoes and potatoes. Found the turmeric and added and it was much nicer, makes all the difference.:)

Enjoyed my family trip out but didn't manage to motivate them into going until 1pm  so it was just afternoon out and so did what we had to but not much extra.

Hope you are all enjoying a lovely weekend.;)

Thanks KD! I am proud, he is such a good boy and a real cutie.:D

How old is he?

He didn't mention not getting a certificate yesterday so don't think he's getting his hopes up so much now.

It's a shame :( I noticed the worst kids in out school won the headteachers award this week. It's difficult as they want to reward them for being good...but you know..........

I sometimes have a party list and all the class are invited. Give me grief and they are knocked off the list:D That way the gooduns get their rewards. Don't do it often as I use other methods to get what I want from them;)

We both seemed to have a 'difficult':( maintenance day yesterday.
Sounds like we did. Must be something in the air. I don't do hormones :D I was ready to pack it all in and decided I preferred my fat life. I don't really, but that's how I felt yesterday. Bored with it all now. Want to be free again.

Should keep this to myself really, or should be using my thread not yours!

Your experience seemed to help you keep more under control than me.
Dizzy x

That made me smile. I'm a novice in this department;) You sound more together than me.

Must try the turmeric on my fish next time. Sounds lovely :)

:break_diet:

Tasha, I've been wondering how you are? Hope you are better now and not still suffering!

Gi Diet: Day 13

Weight 11st 11lb:eek:

Breakfast:

Cereal and Beans on Toast

1oz HL Branflakes with skimmed milk.
4oz Tesco Baked Beans
2 slices wholemeal toast with low fat spread.

Feeling a bit more comfortable this morning body wise. Will be careful today don't want the discomfort back.

MacKenzie's friends birthday party is at a kids place at the designer shopping outlet. So looking forward to taking him and doing a bit of shopping while there. No money to buy anything much but I could do with trying on clothes as I am still working out what size stuff fits me and also what suits me now I am this size and age.

Dizzy x

How old is he?

MacKenzie is coming up to 5 so is in reception. The children I think are all lovely in the class but I think you are right is the teachers pick up on an area the child struggles a bit and they see an improvement they want to encourage it. I think that's correct and I don't think it will hurt MacKenzie to have to wait.

My eldest Theo who is 10 got a certificate the first week! He's not naughty either but is disorganised. He is very intelligent and doesn't have to work hard to keep at the top of the class. His teacher told us in the parent evening that he faffed about for the first half of the lesson and then rushes out his work, it's still great but he could do so much more. Then the first assembly they gave out these certificates he got one for an excellent piece of work where he got straight on with it and did so much in the time given.

Also have Artie who's 8. Hasn't had a certificate yet. Will see what he gets it for, he usually seems to be praised for his Artwork but he'd probably like to be recognised for something else this time.

It's a shame :( I noticed the worst kids in out school won the headteachers award this week. It's difficult as they want to reward them for being good...but you know..........

I completely understand this and they look so proud when they pick up the certificates I bet it does help reinforce better behaviour to some extent.

I don't really believe you I think you like me get much more of a kick out of being in control of our eating. Enjoying good fresh food that we know is nourishing or bodies and keeping us slim and healthy.;)

I guess we will never understand  what takes us over. I wish we could and that that understanding would bring us the answer.

Must try the turmeric on my fish next time. Sounds lovely :)

The turmeric was on the Aubergines, Potatoes and Tomatoes dish. I made it the day before and couldn't add the turmeric as it was hiding. It was so much nicer when I added it in yesterday. The fish was just plain. I will put up the recipe sometime soon incase you are interested.

Hope today is a pleasant one for you.

Thank goodness you are feeling better. That is such a long time to be so bad!:(

My middle son is 8 on the 22nd of this month so they are close in age. Have a great party. Look forward to hearing from you again soon.

I'm OK really I wish I knew why I have flat days I always put it down to problems but my life is relatively problem free at the moment.

The first week on Gi was so fab I am annoyed it was only a week. Going to perservere though as I love the meals.:)

Must go get ready to take little one to his party. Present to wrap and card to write too.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend.

:) Had a nice time shopping. Bought some new pillows, been meaning to do that for a while and some rice bowls from Denby. Unfortunately my faulty radar took me into Thorntons:eek: where they were selling 750g bags of mis chocs for £1.49. How sad am I had to buy them just because they were cheap?

The boys have enjoyed some but sadly I have helped them out.

Lunch:

Unmentionable amount of Thorntons mis chocs!

Recipe post

Aubergine + Potatoes with Tomatoes

1 tsp of veg oil
1 tsp of mustard seeds
2 cloves of garlic
5oz of aubergines
1 small potato (4oz/100g)
1 pinch chilli pepper
1 pinch turmeric
1 small tin chopped tomatoes (200g)
1 tbs of chopped fresh coriander.

Heat the oil in a non-stick pan and add the mustard seeds. When these begin to pop, add the crushed garlic and cook for 30 secs before adding the cubed aubergine, diced potatoes, turmeric and chilli powder. Cook for 5 minutes on high heat and then add the tomatoes and cook, stirring for 2-3 minutes. Add enough water for a sauce consistency, cover and allow to simmer for 25 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Sprinkle with chopped coriander before serving.

This recipe is a large serving for one. I usually make double quantity at a time.

Gi Diet: Day 14

Weight 11st 13lb:eek:

Breakfast:

Bowl of porridge made with water
Splash of skimmed milk on the top

1/2 pomela (large grapefruit type fruit)

Back to seriously sticking to the diet today. Buying the Thorntons was stupid and I didn't even like them that much. i think the fact that they were cheap makes them not taste so good. Not savouring the taste as much maybe.

Went to gym this morning had an aerobics class and burned 750 calories in the gym too. Will try to go to the gym each day this week and bed early too. Try to make up for laast week a bit and get diet really on course.

Stay away from those chocs Dizzy! They are the devils food!

Did alot of thinking last night about food and dieting. I am not doing myself any favours starting and stopping like i am. I have no social engagements booked, so there is no reason why i cant ss. Carlos will have to lump it. He hates it when i am not eating.

So, i have weighed this morning, and i am GONNA STICK TO IT THIS TIME!

Wow  750 calories - thats so good - you must feel the difference after 2 weeks going to the gym and all those classes!! I bet you feel much more toned and energetic.

DOnt worry about those few lbs - they will drop off - you are at a good weight for your height especially if you are getting toned so surely its more about maintaining - and everyones weight fluctuates - even people who have never been on a diet!!:) (I should take my own advice  )

Did you start to SS today? Good Luck. I think you are right to try to stick to one plan or another. Lets hope SS is the plan for you at the moment. :)

I feel much better today.:) I am expecting a ticking off from ediets today as it's weigh in and I'm more than I started at. I am up for making up for it this week. :D

I do feel good but that low spell last week was a bit confusing as I can't think of anything that broughtt it on tired and low. Apart from maybe lots of exercise and not enough sleep. Want to make the most of the gym this week though as I do feel great on days I go and with it being half term next week.

I am not very worried by the weight I know I will get it off easy but it is close to my comfort zone I don't want to see 12 again. Oh no! I could feel my boobs bobbing up and down at the gym today so they are bigger, probably more to do with TOTM next weekend than the weight gain but maybe a bit of both.

You are right though about maintaining being more important than losing for me. I am seriously considering scrapping my ticker as I consider myself to be maintaining not still dieting but wanted the trend to be down over the long term. It will be but this week has shown me how quickly thngs can change and the weight can pile back on.

Just had my lunch so need to write it up.

After I've done that it looks like I will only have an hour  to do housework before picking up the boys!

Catch up with you later

Lentil and Walnut Salad

11/2 oz of dried brown lentils, uncooked weight
1/2 tsp of olive oil or walnut oil
2tsp of red wine vinegar

1/4 tsp of dijon mustard
1 serving of mixed salad leaves
1 oz of walnuts

Rinse the lentils under cold water, then place in a pan, cover and bring to the boil. Simmer for 30-40 minutes or until the lentils are just tender.

Drain the lentils and while they are still warm, stir in the oil, vinegar, crushed garlic and mustard. Set aside to cool.

When ready to serve, toss the salad leaves together with the lentils and walnuts.

This was nice especially if you are fancying a big plateful of salad.
