Dizzy's Diary - Fitness First! Weightloss too now.

Hi Tasha

I'm never sure how much to believe the calories burned in the gym can't be very accurate but even so I know what you mean. Especially on days when I do a class and the gym.

Have you managed to start the Gi plan today?

If so how have you got on. Maybe I need to wait for you to have time to update your diary so no need to reply. I'll be patient!;)

Hope you are doing OK today with day 2.

Well I'm not that good! But I do feel better to have a possible explanation for going off track last week. I did have one of my Thorntons tonight which I guess is absolutely fine. So I have had a bit of sweet. I know it's not low Gi though.

I find I can only allow myself a very small amount of sweet or I may ending up overloading on it. In fact I partly chose the Gi diet to help combat my cravings for sweet stuff. So it may be worth considering when you get to goal as long as you like the foods.;)

Absolutely! Everything in moderation, and it can be learnt. I know I have trigger foods, but I don't want to completely discount them from my diet, just learn when is the best time to have them, and learn to control my portions of them. That's the hard bit, but I don't want to deny myself anything.

BTW...about the chocolate. I sometimes have a chunk of the 80% plain chocolate. I never used to like plain choc. but I find one square of this satisfies my desires and doesn't lead me any further.

Of course, I can eat the whole bar without a problem, but it's much easier to control than milk chocolate. Don't know about the GI levels, but I was told that 80%+ cocoa was more likely to keep me on the straight and narrow than other types.

Still enjoy a choccy or two out of a box though....especially if it's Thorntons;)

Yes a little bit of what you fancy does do you good. It's sticking to the little bit right?

I do have dark choc in the fridge and it is nice to have the odd square. Do like a little bit of milk choc too or white, white's my favourite and the least healthy too I believe!

Love the graphic with the choc rabbit, won't be long will it? Easter I mean!

Gi Diet: Day 16

Weight 11st 13lb:eek:

Breakfast:

Greek Yoghurt (Total 0%)
Blueberries
1tsp honey

2 slices wholemeal toast
lowfat spread

Medium sized Banana

Am also allowed one more fruit serving according to my new plan. (510 calorie breakfast! ) Will have during the morning if fancy it.

Weight up this morning but I know I have been good. My legs are looking a bit swollen and TOTM due in a few days so I know it's water retention.

Legs are feeling quite stiff and tender so will see how I go this morning may skip the gym and just swim today.

Going to make Jo (Devonbabes) Butternut squash and Apple soup this morning for the family to try tonight.

The butternut squash and apple soup sounds devine - wonder if Cambridge fancy trying to copy it??!!! Let us know how it tastes - and I'm going to copy it and save it for when I'm eating properly again.

It does sound good, fancy that myself. There's something so satisfying about home made soup, plus you know what's in there - no rubbish.

I too am a dark chocolate lover, in fact GI converted me as you're allowed a square of it a day (when you're maintaining). I now find milk chocolate tastes too sweet for me and rarely have any - which is an incredible achievement for me as I really was a chocoholic.

Ooooo so there's hope for me and my sweet tooth then??!

Absolutely - I'd have laughed if anyone told me this time last year that I wouldn't really like milk chocolate anymore - would have thought they were barking :D

Thing is after SSing and having no sugar or sweet things, everything tasted too sweet for me, so I eat a lot less sweet things than I used to. But for some reason I notice it more in milk choc than anything else and if I do ever pinch some of my daughters - I always regret it afterwards because I didn't really enjoy it.

Absolutely - it's my favourite. My christmas treat was a box of mixed mini wrapped ones, gorgeous. Must admit I do like their milk chocolate ones, not as sweet, but my DD "helped" me with those!

Well done, once opened the box didn't last too long:eek:

BTW Karen, been meaning to say for ages, I'm a Cardiff girl myself, although it's been a long time since I've been in Cardiff so it's probably changed a bit but my parents still live in Penarth.

Hi all!

While you lot have been on here chit chatted about chocolate. :D I've been to the gym burned 600 calories and then 20 lengths in the pool.:)

Better get my lunch now.
