Donna's fighting depression and weight diary!

Well done with getting back to work and so positive the plan sounds great like a fresh start x I have every confidence you can do it xx I agree I feel like me have all made friends over the last few weeks and miss you all when you missing for a day x

hello everyone:wavey:

feel we are like Donna cheer leading squad :party0011::party0011::party0011::party0011::party0011::party0011::party0011::party0011::party0011::party0011:

so sorry that the cold sores are back and the inflamed gums - I am sure it was stress

I really do like your work program and the fac that you could have your say
now I assume there is conflict in the work place - is it resolved or might it reoccur - if there is a chance it might occur again what is in place to protect you from it
you need to evaluate that issue and ONLY if there is protection in place should you stay where you are (however I truely feel it should be the other party that is asked to move) if you do not feel protected could you do like a taster session and move to the other job for a couple of weeks to see how you feel - afterall you dont want to jump from one difficult situation into another potentially worse one

I have worked mornings only and loved it - I could take my children to a friends on the way to work - she took them when she took hers to school and then I went home from work did my chores then picked them all up from school and delivered hers - so if you can get some child care in place do consider it as an option :)
hope the next day goes as well as today :):)

Sounds like a positive first day - I couldn't be more pleased. Sorry about the cold-sores etc - they will go again once everything has settled back down. Remember to make use of any support that's offered and don't stay quiet if things don't go well. Take care.

Hey Donna- so glad to hear todays gone well for you, your manager seems very supportive and just think carefully about the different hours and being moved- they might suit you better but on the other hand its nice to have a couple days off in the week especially when its the school holidays, suppose there's pros and con's for both.

That coronation chicken looks delicious x

That's how i do mine, less the sultanas. Stu hates them!

similar to mine, too! except i use a mix of garam masala, tuneric and curry powder, and a mix of extra light mayo, light natural yoghurt and light creme fraiche. i tend not to use mango chutney because i keep forgetting to buy it :( but i have dried apricots that get thrown in there instead with the raisins. i find it's best the next day, the spices have a chance to really blossom in the mayo mix :)

well today for you should be a day of sunshine and relaxation - but I bet you have a list 'as long as your arm' to get through today - but please take some time just for you - it will benefit you in the long run
and even I who am not a crocs fan fancy the retro wedges :):)

glad all went well for you going back to work. sounds like your manager is really helpful and friendly. enjoy the rest of your day :)
Thank you LMC - Sally is lovely and she has even sent me a lovely email at home, she is wonderful!
Pesky coldsores - I get them really bad too so feel your pain!

I'm glad everything went well and that your work are being so supportive. Definitely no point in looking backwards just focus on each day as it comes and remember you are in control!!

Totally trying that coronation chicken recipe! x
Thank you Erin - Well amazingly this coldsore responded to the zovirax, never has before, must have treated it before it had a chance to take route, thank god! The corrie chicken is so quick and simple to make - dinner in minutes! Even better left up and made in fridge - tastes even better 24 hours later x

Thanks Cas - at the moment working 3 days is perfect I am confident that now manager is aware of how I feel about certain things - she will do her best to keep me busy as we agreed. Its nice to know that she doesn't want to lose me as one of her team - because i woulnd't want to work for any other managers
Sorry for not getting on here yesterday - but I'm glad to hear work has gone OK - here's to it continuing to improve in he step-up period.

Was going to ask for the corchick recipe but you beat me to it I'm gonna have to use that one cos just now I'm a lazy mare and use a bought sarnie filler. One of my faves too. Hope you have a lovely evening. :D
Thanks PP - will be heading to your Fred in a mo - I love the sarnie filler but when you make it up yourself its so much nicer xxx I will send you some xxx

Oh that sounds lush - I love it with dried apricots as well - this is actually my fav coronation chicken recipe - I haven't calorie counted it yet - takes a lot longer than my quick lunch version - its my SW version

1x large onion, chopped
Chicken cut into small bite sized pieces
Frylite

Fry onions and chicken in pan (gentle heat) until onions go translucent and chicken is almost cooked
Add 2 tbsp tom puree, 2 tbsp mango chutney, 2 tbsp curry paste, lemon juice, tsp tumeric, chilli flakes.
Reduce to low heat and stir occasionally. Once chicken is cooked thru remove from heat.
Add 5tbsp fat free creme fraiche or fromage frais (i added more but just stir and taste til its how u like it). 8 syns for whole thing i had 1/3 so calling it as 3 syns)

Hi Donna - talking of Crocs on Aaleigha's Diary I came across these when I was looking for something else on Amazon.

Crocs Women's Crocs Retro Flip Wedges: Amazon.co.uk: Shoes & Accessories

have you seen these before? I think they are brilliant and might just have to press the buy now button. :D
Woman what are you doing to me lol!!! Am going to pick the crocs i want and order some tomorrow (when I have more time on my hands), my husband will ban me from here
well today for you should be a day of sunshine and relaxation - but I bet you have a list 'as long as your arm' to get through today - but please take some time just for you - it will benefit you in the long run

Had a long list but apart from 2.5 (yes 2.5) hours of boring ironing, visit to farm shop and tesco (to pick up pyrex) I did bugger all! Oh i did take Noah to park for about 35 mins but it started to rain we'd only been in there for about 15 mins poor little lamb)

Well RC sounds good esp if you have daughter to go with - maybe its just not the right time for you right now? what about coming over here to calorie counting, we are a fab bunch over here xxx

Well Ladies - the sun is shining but not sure for how long - as weatherman has suggested rain is on the way!

Think I might have over done it on the curry powder content in my corrie chicken yesterday I am sure there is a whiff of it coming out of my pores lol!!!

We are off to my dad's for dinner today which is nice - my sister & bro in law are foster parents - their first placement has been adopted and will be moving to his new home and family at the end of this month - as my dad will be away he is throwing a goodbye lunch for my little foster-nephew - its so heartbreaking, he has been one of us for almost two years and he is Noah's best friend, i have been talking to Noah trying to prepare him for his loss

Dad;s on Weight Watchers diet so he is cooking a ww shepherds pie - the cals are minimal so i haven't got to worry about breaking the calorie bank

No plans for tomorrow - i would love to get all my hosuework done so I can rest all of monday before i return to work on tues - still feeling absolutely shattered - slept from 7:30 to 7:45 last night and in honesty would still be alseep had Noah not woken me up

BUT I AM SO HAPPY TO BE BACK HERE WITH YOU ALL!!! BEEN ON EDGE BECAUSE I COULND'T GET ON LONG ENOUGH FOR A GOOD CATCH UP - BUT FOODSWISE I HAVE BEEN ANGELIC AND V NAUGHTY PEEK AT SCALES THIS MORNING - SHOULD SEE A GOOD LOSS ON TUES

Aw, that's a shame about your foster-nephew. Well, it's really good news and the best thing for him etc but I can understand how you all must be feeling, especially Noah. Will they be able to keep in touch somehow?

Oh absolutely - he is going to really good parents - and they all look alike - its so uncanny! My sister I am sure will get little updates and I confident that at some point in the future he will want to meet up with her and her lovely little family at least - although I am worried about Noah in the back of my mind a little voice is telling me that kids bounce back - he'll ask for him for a while and will then find another friend - you know what kids are like lol!

Morning hun (just about!) :D It sounds like you've got a lovely day planned. It's a shame about your little foster-nephew, but like you said, he's going to a good family and hopefully you'll get updates as to how he's doing. I guess every child wants to feel like they're a permanent part of a family. I do believe that children are far more resilient than adults though hun, and I'm sure Noah will soon bounce back, even though he'll undoubtedly feel the loss for a while.

I'm glad to hear that your first day back at work went well hun, hopefully you'll get some rest now before going back to work on Tuesday. I've only been back in school a week and I'm already exhausted, lol! :D:D

xxx
