Dukan Recipe Thread

How do I make a galette? is it like an omlette

nope it like a pancake but with oatbran. its in the book.
Dukan Oat Bran Galette (Pancake) Recipe
on attack only 1 1.2 tbsp oatbran and no wheatbran. i dont put wheatbran in mine at all only oatbran. you can use fromage frais or quark.
cook it low and slow and it does take practice.

The recipe is on the recipe thread and no its nothing like an omlette. Its like a tiny bit eggy but tastes like a wrap or pitta bread. Its nice. Or you can have it as a sweet pancake

I've got LOTS of recipes in French, and I'll try to translate a few for you, but if there's a specific ingredient you'd like a recipe for, try me.

Here's a spicey recipe I particularly love on PV

Tajine de kefta aux oeufs - PV

Ingredients :
- 500 g lean mince meat
- tin tomatoes
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1 onion (chopped finely)
- 1/2 tspsn chopped mint
- 1 tspsn chopped parsley
- 2 tspsns coriander
- 2 tspns chilli powder (or to your taste)
- 1 tspsn cumin
- Salt and pepper

- eggs (optional)

- courguettes (or other veg)

In a cup mix the coriander, parsley, chilli, cumin, garlic, onion, salt and pepper.

In a large bowl, add 2/3 of your herb/spice mixture to the mincemeat... and make meat balls... (smaller you make them, the quicker they cook...). Set aside (I often leave them overnight in a tupperware).

In a large pan, place tin of tomatoes, the remaining 1/3 of the herb/spice mixture, and stir over gentle heat... add a few spoonfuls of water if it might stick.

Add the meat balls, and cook COVERED for five minutes (hmm that mightn't be enough for the English palate... check!). Then take the lid off, break an egg per person into the pan, and cook until egg cooked UNCOVERED.

Meanwhile, you'll have peeled your courguette... when the green skin is removed, continue peeling all the white flesh into tagliatelle type strips... (the centre you can simply chop). Cook in microwave for 2 mins... plop in your sauce, and you have "tagliatelle" with your meat dish.

Enjoy! I used to have this every week... until my other half got fed up with it! I found a piccie, served with a salad, and a galette

Mmmm. Wonder if i can try it tonight. Ive still not been the shops yet. I cant be bothered to move!

Oh yum that sounds lovely (but without the eggs and corriander) will definitely be giving that one a go.

meat loaf

  • 1kg lean minced beef
    1 finely chopped onion

Place the sliced hard-boiled eggs on top in a row then add the rest of the meatloaf mixture.

Cook for one hour.
Let the loaf stand for 0 minutes before slicing.
Serve hot or cold with a herb sauce, horseradish sauce or Tomato sauce if in cruise phase of Dukan.

Mine too. Maybe a little over/under cooked?

Possibly ,my oven is a bit rubbish so probably not quite the right temperature

I tried this today as I was fed up with 'bread' or galette for breakfast and had yoghurt with oatbran and a pancake instead!

Pancake /Crepe

1 tb skimmed milk
2 tb skimmed milk powder
1 egg
a bit of sweetener if you like

Mix powder into milk, then beat egg into it. Beat well. Use a good non-stick frying pan (I also wiped mine with a drop of oil) and pour into hot pan. It's ready to turn when set and edges begin to brown - just like a normal pancake. Watch it, it cooks and browns more quickly than a normal pancake.

I have a big pan so it just made one, but that's fine by me!

Yum yum. I spread mine with a bit of cottage cheese.

Wow theres loads on there, I might start my own blog when I have made sense of this diet. ooh Our post usually comes between 2 & 2.30 the book could be on its way, I am trying not to get my hopes up

oooh fingers and paws crossed ;)

having read with interest a blog on a dukanner - the biggest losses were always after PV with asparagus. So i thought I would find some recipes for us to boost those losses x

Crispy chicken & asparagus pie recipe - Recipes - BBC Good Food- (dukan friendly it with quark/from frais and oatbran breadcrumbs?)

Flambéed chicken with asparagus recipe - Recipes - BBC Good Food - again take out oil/butter and replace creme fraiche

oh its lovely. my favourite is dipped in boiled eggs like little green soldiers. oh be aware the colour and smell of your wee though with the asparagus! dont think there is something wrong with you!

"Orlac pancakes" (cos the girl who created them on a French website's pseudo was "Orlac").

Crêpe légère d'Orlac

2 whole eggs, beaten
2 tablespoons skimmed milk powder
1 tablespoon sweetener
(instant coffee powder, or drip of food flavouring of your choice)

Beat together. Heat a good non stick small frying pan (or use a squirt).

Put a spoonful or two of the mixture in. Wait for the bottom to cook before attempting to turn (with a wide spatula). Then quickly cook second side.

First one is usually not pretty, like with "real pancakes", but I became quite proficient at making these at one stage. Must have another go...

OK ON ATTACK!!
