Consolidation Dukandebut's Trying to Stay the Same Diary

It certainly was a lovely day and pud, Em! :)

She said that I looked wonderful, bless her, but she didn't mention anything about weight loss. That's probably because I was slim the last time I saw her - probably about 8 to 8.5 stone, so there wasn't so much of a difference.

Just another quick visit as we're still in the midst of painting and touching up because of the new bathroom. Am so tired that I just want to go to bed.

PV with Carb meal 1 today:

B Yoghurt with oatbran, apple juice
L Cheese, mushroom and spring onion omelette with bread, yoghurt
D Porcupine meatballs (contain rice) in a tomato sauce with broccoli, followed by crème au chocolat

Aw, Mouse, bless your heart. I'm so blasé about Conso now that I'd forgotten just how much I used to crave proper bread sometimes whilst on Cruise.

Had a lovely day in London today, catching up with a friend I haven't seen for years. Took her and her lovely boyfriend to a fab street market and to a lovely pub for lunch. We then ate cakes in the sunshine in a nearby park.

PV with gala meal 1:

B Yoghurt with oatbran, apple juice
L (Gala 1) Proper burger in bun with bacon, cheese and red onion relish, homemade coleslaw, chips, followed by Baileys and chocolate cheesecake
D Cheese and ham sandwich, crème au chocolat

OMG!

You always make me smile, Mousie. :D

Hopefully, one last day of painting should do the trick before we start moving our stuff back into the bathroom and bedroom. It'll be nice to be organised once again.

Normal PV day today:

B Yoghurt, oatbran, apple juice
L Ham and tomato sandwich, yoghurt
D Anja's Conso quiche (with added onion) and salad, followed by crème au chocolat

morningxx

Good morning, young Scrumps! :)

Well, that grilled aubergine soup was absolutely delicious - definitely one for Conso and beyond only. I suppose that it could be eaten during Cruise if the low-fat cream cheese was left out. Will post the recipe in the appropriate section, I think, in case anyone would like to give it a try.

The chocolate truffle torte is even better when you can actually taste it. Still got a chesty cough, but it's great to be able to smell and taste things again.

The sun is back! Just in time for me to be stuck in the bathroom, clearing and cleaning things up in there, sigh.

PV with carb meal 2:-

B Yoghurt with oatbran, apple juice
L Grilled aubergine soup, ham and tomato sandwich, yoghurt
D (carb 2) Mediterranean penne cheese, followed by crème au chocolat

mmm what about using quark in it ......may give it a bash seeing as i quite fancy that !!! im converted to courgettes being on dukan and celeriac , so it has opened my taste buds a bit

Yep, I wondered about using quark with it, so have suggested that in the post I made in the Recipes section. I think you'd probably have to blend the soup, reheat it, then blend or stir in the quark afterwards to prevent it separating possibly.

The flavour is really lovely and a bit unusual. Makes a nice change. I didn't add any cumin to mine as I hate the stuff, but popped some into my husband's bowl as he's a big curry/cumin fan.

Following Dukan has certainly been great for encouraging us to try new things! :)

mmm sounding even nicer ......
im still dribbling after seeing the baileys cheesecake lol

Had to change my menu yesterday to a takeaway (mushroom foo yung - very nice) due to circumstances beyond my control, plus am not going to be able to drink as much water as I should for the moment.

Just less than an hour after I was in the bath last night (still not moved back into our ensuite bathroom), part of the ceiling came down. Would have hit me on the head if I'd been in the bath at the time, lol!

The new pipework in the loft has obviously been leaking over several days. So we've had to turn our water off and empty the tank. I've contacted the bathroom company and the fitters are on their way.

Fingers crossed that they manage to fix it soon.

So not entirely sure what I'll be eating today for my PP day. So far, it's been:

B Yoghurt with lemon, goji and ginger muffin

Oh no DD - thank goodness you're ok! It brings back memories of our first house. The plumber had finished our central heating and we were in bed that night when there was the most almighty crash. OH leaped out of bed. I followed at a more leisurely pace, only to find him standing on the stairs stark naked with his finger in the end of a water pipe and half the living room ceiling on the floor:D It was a bit like the little boy with his finger in the dyke. Oh what a sight:D

Yes DD - wow what a lucky escape! My commiserations hope you get it fixed soon!

Hmm nice takeaway. have a good PP day. Mine is turning out very eggy as I forgot to defrost some chicken, but I do have some prawns!

Great news! We now have our water back on! Shame about the hole in the ceiling, but we can live with that for a little while until it's fixed. (I just have to pray that no big, or even little, loft spiders drop down on me when I'm standing beneath the hole.)

Turns out that the bathroom fitters weren't to blame. It was one of the old copper central heating pipes which had corroded badly, probably due to corrosive flux not being flushed out when the central heating was originally fitted. There was a nasty little hole in there, and a whole section of the pipe was in an awful state.

The fitters were absolutely fantastic. They could have told me that it wasn't their fault and not bothered to help, but they came out and fixed it for me, despite being on holiday, and they're arranging for the ceiling to be fixed. Lovely lads.

So now I'm back to the PP menu I'd planned, which will continue with:

L Turkey rashers with chive cottage cheese, followed by yoghurt and muffin
D Galette with meatloaf, followed by muffin
S Muffin

"Oh what a sight" in a good way? ;):D

I hope that you were able to get some clothes on him before the plumber popped around!;)

It's all very scary, this falling ceiling malarkey, isn't it? Not something I'd like to happen every day.

Anja - Yes, it was an unexpected pleasure (the foo yung, not the ceiling!) You could make a lovely beanspout-free prawn foo yung with your eggs, maybe?

lol and theres me reading up on red backs and funnel webs on the net !!!
