Consolidation Dukandebut's Trying to Stay the Same Diary

Don't tell scrumps, but I've just got back from Morrisons where they had cider on special offer so I stocked up on some Westons and Thatcher's, including some lovely scrumpy.

Today is PV with carb meal 2:

B Yoghurt with oatbran, apple juice
L Beetroot and tomato soup, ham and tomato sandwich, yoghurt
D (carb 2) Red pepper beef wholemeal pasta with Parmesan cheese, followed by crème au chocolat

PV with carbs

D Em's frittata, LGG muffin
S LGG muffin

i heard that !!!

PV Lovely Burger Day:

B Yoghurt with apple juice
L Beetroot and tomato soup, sandwich made with slice of Em's frittata and a couple of gherkins, yoghurt
D Galette, burger, homemade ketchup, cheese, gherkin, grilled onions. Followed by crème au chocolat

Sadly, Mr Le Bon's throat is still bothering him and so more concerts have been cancelled. I'm disappointed, but feel much sorrier for their loyal fans, like Jess and also the friend who was going with me. Hope you can manage to get to one of their re-scheduled gigs.

Thankfully, the play I'm going to see tonight is still on (unless the world inconveniently ends this evening, in which case I will be really cross). Very much looking forward to it, even though I'll probably spend the whole time crying my eyes out.

Switched my gala to tomorrow night in the circumstances, so a normal PV day today:

B Yoghurt with apple juice
L Ham and tomato sandwich, yoghurt
D Dukan pizza (galette, tomato purée, ham, mushrooms, onion, cheese, egg), followed by crème au chocolat

OMG this world of ending thing.....I'm for what they call "The Bible Belt" here in America (the south) people are literally on street corners with signs...

what play is that then !!!

Yeah what you going to see?

I'm patiently waiting for the world to end, no sign of it yet :( I'm hoping it'll be like the hellmouth on buffy.

My husband heard on the radio that companies have actually sprung up, offering to look after people's pets when they are taken away in the "Rapture". Naturally, the companies are demanding an up-front payment! I understand that they've even put up their prices as so many people have taken them up on the offer!

Scrumps and jaqys - It was a stage adaptation of Michael Morpurgo's book, Private Peaceful, although the ending was changed to fit better with it being a one man show.

The young actor, Mark Quartley, was superb and it was extremely moving. He was quite rightly rewarded with three full encores - and there would have been even more if I'd had my way.

Here's some info on it:Private Peaceful – Leicester Curve Theatre | The Good Review

If you ever get the chance to see the stage adaption (with Handspring Puppets) of War Horse, then you definitely should take it. I'm not a lover of West End shows and musicals generally, but War Horse is simply unbelievable.

The horse puppets, working alongside human actors, move incredibly realistically, even seeming to breathe. After a short while, you forget that they are not living, breathing horses and you grow to care deeply about them. It's the best show I've ever seen in the whole of my life and there are tears pouring down my cheeks just to think about it.

Damn. This awful cold, which never really went away, came back with a vengeance yesterday and is worse today. I wish I could stop coughing and spluttering. From my visit to the supermarket yesterday, it seems that practically the whole population has the same thing - it was a cacophony of coughing.

Still, it's a PV gala day today. Thankfully, my sense of taste hasn't vanished yet, although I'm not really feeling hungry, so at least I should be able to tell that I'm eating one of my favourites, chocolate brownies tonight. Am feeling too crap to face my beloved cider, though.

B Apple juice (couldn't face solids)
L Cheese, spring onion and mushroom omelette with bread, yoghurt
D (gala 1) Sausage casserole with mixed root veg mash, followed by chocolate brownie

Yey chocolate brownie day! Can't believe it has come around again so quickly! I look forward to this day every week:D

Thanks for all your support and encouragement in here Sue to Cruisers like me - it means a lot.:family2::

You are a kind and Marvellous Mousie. :)

Got to admit that Brownie Day is a particular favourite of mine. I'm due to make a new batch later today, in fact!

For anyone who happens to read this diary after starting Conso and whose willpower is as weak as mine when it comes to desserts, I would strongly advise to you divide up any cakes or brownies you make into portions and then pop them away in the freezer as soon as they're ready to be put away. Then you can take out to defrost the night before only what you need. Believe me, it really helps to fend off temptation.

PV with carb meal 1 today:

B Yoghurt with oatbran, apple juice
L Cheese, spring onion and mushroom omelette with bread, yoghurt
D (carb 1) Cider and mustard chicken (only a little of each, with the cider being cooked long and high enough to evaporate it) with green beans and brown rice. Followed by crème au chocolat

my eldest class has gone to london fora couple of days Dyl couldnt cos of the wedding , they have gone to see war horse ...i would hate to be the teachers with a few 10 yr old girls crying buckets at the end !!!!! ive told dyl we will go if i ever get the chance of cheap tickets ...he says he would rather wait and see the touring version of american idiot when it gets here

That's my trouble I think - the risk of ending up interpreting a gala meal as scoffing a whole tray of brownies.

I'm not familiar with "American Idiot", other than the song by Green Day. Is it based on that? If so, sounds like something my young nephew would enjoy as he loves them.

Hopefully, the girls won't have sobbed too much for the teachers to cope with. I'm just a soppy old thing when it comes to animals so I'd started crying even before the damn show started - one look at the picture on the front of the programme was enough to finish me off!

If you do get the chance to see War Horse, definitely try and see it, though. I've never witnessed such an extraordinary production in my life. Even my husband (who was initially reluctant and was also horrified by the ticket prices) was thunderstruck and raving about it afterwards.

I can't recommend it enough.

Me, too. The freezer is definitely our friend when it comes to scoff-prevention, Mouse. :) (I just wish they would invent mixing bowls that you can't lick out afterwards, though. )

Am disappointed today as this stupid cold is making my asthma worse and I'm having to miss my dance class. Can't wait to get back to being able to exercise again.

PV with gala 2 meal today:

B Yoghurt with oatbran, apple juice
L Ham and tomato sandwich, yoghurt
D (gala 2) Spiced cauliflower soup, cheese and garlic pizza, followed by chocolate truffle torte
