Consolidation Dukandebut's Trying to Stay the Same Diary

I used to hate it when Mum used the "last lick" spoon on her mixing bowls, but I now do the same - particularly when non Dukan cooking! Sugar free sweet in mouth is helpful too!

Kids on school trips - AAAH... on the boat, on the way over Friday evening, there were maybe 20 teenagers (13-14 yr olds, I'd say). At that "I am cool", age... weird hairstyles, VERY short skirts, and they all kept parading around the boat, talking VERY loudly. Teachers? Who knows where they were. Five adults appeared just as we docked. They'd obviously found a lovely QUIET place (far away from their charges) to read/doze/whatever - unlike us. How I restrained myself from commenting to them, I do not know. GRRRR!

DD... how's your weight?

"Last lick" spoon? Is that an ultra-efficient spatula-type thing, Jo? If so, then it's exactly what I need. Must look out for one.

I used to work in a school when I was younger and got on tremendously well with the teenagers. Alas, my tolerance levels appear to have declined with age and I can now understand why the teachers might want to hide from them. Not fun for fellow passengers like yourself, though, Jo. You have my sympathy.

Weight is going well so far, thanks. I'm slowly working my way back up to target - only 9lbs below it now (was originally 11lbs below). I'm feeling fine and don't think that I look too skinny or gaunt, but I'd like to put on at least a few more pounds, ideally. If I could stabilise at 8 st, that would be excellent.

Just popping back as I forgot to post my menu.

PV with carb meal 2:

B Yoghurt with oatbran, apple juice
L Spiced cauliflower soup, ham and tomato sandwich, yoghurt
D (carb 2) Roast red pepper and beef wholemeal pasta with Parmesan, followed by crème au chocolat

I just googled "last lick" spoon and can't find them. Maybe it was just my Mum's pet name for her spatula!

If I do find a suitably ruthless spatula, I will name it my "last lick" spoon in honour of your mum - fabulous name! :D

I had a bit of a shock yesterday when the heating engineer popped around for the annual maintenance check yesterday. In fact, I must have stood there, speechless, for several seconds when I first opened the door - it was as though the book I am reading had come to life!

Yep, there on my doorstep was a (no exaggeration) 7 foot tall, enormously broad-shouldered, red-haired, bearded deadringer for Eirik the Red! Thankfully, he turned out to be a real sweetheart and had a cup of coffee and a nice chat, rather than maurading, pillaging, ransacking the place and running off with the cats. :D

Boring PP Thursday:

B Yoghurt and toffee muffin (I'd forgotten how good these taste)
L Turkey rashers with chive cottage cheese, yoghurt, muffin
D Meatloaf with fromage frais and chive dip, followed by muffin
S Muffin

ooooh lovely story!! Did you give him a biscuit (or 10?!)

ooooh lovely story!! Did you give him a biscuit (or 10?!)

I gave him 3 big biscuits. Would have given him more if I'd noticed in time that he'd polished off the lot. And I gave him another coffee.

Huge Vikings need their food! :D

(Mind you, I would have given him a good hiding if he'd attempted to steal my cats.;) )

haaaa! It's funny how us Brits always offer coffee/tea + biscuits to all tradesmen and they're gratefully received. Here, however, they look at us mystfied as to why we're offering coffee mid-morning (cos they had one with their breakfast) or mid-afternoon (cos they had one after lunch). And I've never yet been able to give a biscuit away either - they just don't seem to snack!

Are they insane!!!;)

Mind you, French people make up for it with the amount of sugar they put in their coffee - tiny little cups with a mountain of sugar the size of Everest's big brother.

I'm sure you can guess what today's day is without me writing it down. ;-)

B Yoghurt, apple juice
L Spiced cauliflower soup, meatloaf and gherkin sandwich, yoghurt
D Galette, burger, homemade ketchup, grilled onions, cheese, gherkin. Followed by crème au chocolat

When do you move into phase 2 Conso, DD?

When do you move into phase 2 Conso, DD?

I've been on phase 2 for ages, Jo. Do you mean Stab?

If so, then I'm going to keep going for another few weeks and try to switch to Stab in approximately 5 weeks' time.

I'm a bit apprehensive about it, but keep reminding myself how worried I was initially when I switched to Cruise, then Conso I, then Conso II. The leaps of faith have worked so far - I just have to trust that it will work again with Stab.

STS for me today - hurray! (No loss!)

PV with gala meal 1:

B Yoghurt with oatbran, apple juice
L Meatloaf, cheese and gherkin sandwich, yoghurt
D (Gala 1) Beef and wild mushroom stroganoff with root veg mash, followed by chocolate brownie

Thanks, Em. I seem to be regaining the weight I wanted, but at a nice, slow pace. :)

The mixture of wild mushrooms I bought today from the farmer's market look really bizarre - some of them are pink! Tonight's meal should certainly be interesting!

Darn and blast I missed burger day again :)

Ooh what day is it today? Please let it be Mexican day :)

Aw, Mousie, sorry to be the bearer of disappointing news but it's Italian Day today instead.;)

PV with Italian Day carb meal 1:

B I wasn't feeling very well and so missed this, which is a bit naughty and I'll have to fit the oatbran in somewhere else instead
L Cheese, spring onion and mushroom omelette with bread, yoghurt, apple juice
D (Carb 1) Lamb ragu with wholemeal pasta, followed by partially-frozen crème au chocolat (forgot to get it out of the freezer - which may have had something to do with the unfeasibly strong cider accompanying last night's gala meal)
