Everyday's a SW day :) x

What my consultant always says is ....
Your body doesnt know its weigh in day... therefore it can fluctuate....just keep going and the only place that weight can go is off your body :)

Ooh, I don't think any of us are that patient! Lol I've heard when people sign up to these boot camp things they only take weights and measurements every month. Gives a more accurate reading I'm sure. X

Morning, I woulf just like to ask a question about food.

I notice sometimes on your food diaries that you sometimes have today what was left tomorrow, not the things that you cook for the week, but maybe some an evening meal. I find this almost impossible to do and eat until it has all gone no matter whether satisfied or not.

The question is do you make extra for the next day or just eat until you feel satisfied. I thought if I find out what other members do it might encourage me. I should be able to do it myself but really need to sort this out. . :sigh:

The reason I am asking I suppose is that I weighed myself this morning and my scales say I have put on 3lbs. May be different tomorrow I hope.

Sorry butting in here! But I find even if there's only 2 of you, make enough for 4 and pack the spare portions into plastic storage tubs. Even better if you can freeze the recipe, as then it's not as easy to tuck in later if it's in the freezer :)
fill your plate sensibly, don't just pile it high and eat til it's all gone x

For me it just depends how hungry I am at the time and what I'v cooked. If it's soup, stew, chilli, casserole, curry or sumthin like that I usually try 2 get at least a smaller lunchtime portion from it as well as r dinner, if not another dinner. I usually try 2 do wat Rochelle has suggested n take out the extra portions 1st b4 platin up cos if I leave it in the pot it's very easy 2 ave more ;)

when i'm making my stuff, i'm usually halving the ingredients cos i'm only cooking for me and my OH (my little one won't eat most of the stuff i cook from sw)

i eat till i'm full and if there's some left, sometimes i pick at it later if i'm hungry.
if i'm working the next day, sometimes i'll put a portion aside for lunch the next day...to save me the hassle of thinking what to take for lunch.

with things like the mac and cheese, fanta chicken etc, i'll add extra superfree and an extra handful of pasta but there's always more than enough. i've never actually followed a recipe properly (to serve 4 or whatever) and if i did, there would be at least 2 portions.

the other week i made the mac and cheese for 2 but split it into 3 portions, one for dinner that day, one for lunch the next day and one for the freezer.
if it's for lunch then i wouldn't really need the same size portion that i'd dish up for dinner.

every day's different...there are times there's no feeding me and i eat everything i take to work....other times i bring most of it home so i just listen to my body and eat when i'm hungry....i don't ever really eat for the sake of it...although i definitely could lol x

Thank you all so much for your replies.

When I got the savoury mince out of freezer I immediately halved it and put some in the freezer. I know what you all say is right and sensible. I have breakfast and lunch, not feeling hungry but my mouth is watering because if wants me to put some food in it, I am thinking of food. Have put kettle on for a coffee and if that don`t take it away I will go for another walk. I am sewing some xmas cards for the children so hands are busy it is my head.

I will definately make smaller portions so that I won`t be tempted by thr extra. Maybe I should buy less fruit at a time too then I won`t be able to spend the evening snacking when I don`t really need it.

I realise now that just that when I come to dish up if it looks a lot I can put some aside for tomorrow. I don`t suppose I had even given it a thought until I read through some diaries again.

Any ideas for my head? Old habits die hard lol. Spent my childhood & my life eating because I wanted to and not because I was hungry.

Hope the scales are kind to me this week. I am going Friday morning. Will let you know how I get on.

oooh nanny doreen...i DEFINITELY don't need to be hungry to eat lol but over the last wee while, i've found i can't eat the same amounts and i actually get to a point where i don't enjoy it anymore if i keep eating past the point that's full (or prob too full lol)
i guess i think..what's the point in eating on if i don't enjoy it?

for me it's junk...i love it!
i also love the healthy stuff too but i'm an all or nothing kinda gal and obviously on SW, it's nothing (in comparison to what i'd want lol) but i think using my syns on crisps and chocolate means i don't feel i'm missing out.

when i had my unjustified gain the other night, i said to my OH...all i want is to be able to eat cakes, white rolls, butter, crisps and deep fried whatever...and lose 4lbs a week..and then when i get to my desired weight, i want to maintain it by eating stuff like that...is it too much to ask?! haha...we were laughing....dream on miss k...dream right on eh!

you can only try your best...i hope you see the results you want...let us know xx

i read the Paul McKenna book - i can make you thin, have you heard of it/read it?

a lot of what he said rung true and basically he tells you that it takes x amount of time for our belly to tell our brain that we're full but we eat so fast, when we get the signal, it's too late. he suggests slowing down etc and as soon as we feel we've had enough, to stop.
if you feel hungry 15 mins later then eat again but follow the same rule - only eat when you're hungry, slow down you're eating and stop when you're full.
easier said than done but it means we're listening to our bodies and only giving it what it needs.

he also mentions the clear dinner plate stuff...and how so many of us are told when we're small that we have to clear our plate. he suggests learning to leave something on your plate...even if it's one chip, what you're doing is showing that you can survive and cope with leaving something and we don't have to eat everything.

it's so hard, we all have our own "baggage" and have all prob spent too many years being hung up on food or thoughts of it but skinny people/people who don't have weight problems, don't focus on stuff like we would. they eat what they want, whenever they want and they don't obsess over it. they stop when they've had enough and don't shove it down like most of us would if we had the chance....and they DEF don't give themselves the grief that we do/have so much guilt about it!

to be honest, i keep leftovers to save me the time/hassle for the next again day MORE than it being about portion control. as i mentioned earlier, i def can't eat the amount i used to but we just need to find a happy medium and what works for us x
