Everyone has a fat friend... I don't want to be yours! 2013...

Thank you for stopping by and wow at your weight loss! You have done amazing. Do you exercise as well as eating healthy etc? x

Hi again :)

I bought myself an exercise bike right at the start of this "attempt!"..and had to lose weight to reach the max user weight! :( ..but it kept me motivated! I used it every day faithfully and it definately helped with the weight loss. I also started walking everywhere and anywhere. I am very lucky to live on an island, so I walk along the beach often! I also bought some zumba dvds to work at in the comfort of my own home, with the curtains closed! ha ha

Recently I haven't been zumba'ing much at all..and the past few weeks, I have been neglecting my faithful bike (who I fondly call Andre, after a certain celeb! :) hee hee) I do still walk as much as possible, which will become easier in the better weather. I must get back into the routine of getting on my bike, it is fun and easy to do!

I couldn't face joining the gym, even though I have lost weight, I'm still not brave enough!

What about you hun? Do you exercise? How are you finding slimming world, have you tried any other plans in the past?

I have been thinking of buying the zumba DVD but I honestly have no coordination at all... I would probably trip up and do myself some damage.
I have got a treadmill in my bedroom which is neglected to say the least, I did start the couch to 5k app on my iphone but didn't last long with that, I actually plan on restarting it today. I have got couple of biggest loser DVD's which are still in the packaging... you get the picture lol
I have only ever done slimming world, the first time was about 6 years ago, I lost 2.5stone in 3 months and then got pregnant. My daughter is now almost 6 and I have tried SW about 5 times since then but always from home and I have given up. This time I have been doing it since January from home and this time its just clicked and I feel I am now ready to get rid of this chub once and for all!

That's the spirit!!..When that lightbulb moment comes on, your head is in the right place, then there will be no stopping you! :)

I love Biggest Lose UK and am disappointed it is not on this year. I am the original couch potato and in the past watched the diet programmes while munching a packet of crisps and telling myself, I must do that... one day! lol

At least you know slimming world works for you, so that will keep you motivated :) As I said earlier, I am sure I have tried almost every diet and plan over the years..this time it just worked!..thank goodness!

I lost over 5 stone a few years ago...fell pregnant..gained it all back after the birth..and then some! lol

I meant business this time, for my health, more than my looks!... I gave up on countless diets over the years, this time it is working..and cheesy as it sounds, if I can do it..anyone can!

Good luck with it all, I'll pop in daily to see how you are getting on hun x

The first time I did it I just happened to be at my mother in laws on the day she was joining and thought I'd give it a go, I hadn't even thought about it before but it was so easy.
The attempts since then were due to me wanting to look like the other people I know and were due to me thinking other people thought I was fat. I now know that I am ready to do this for myself and I don't care what other people think, I'm doing this to make sure that my children grow up with a healthy and happy mum x

Great attitude Nettie :)..exactly!..do it for yourself and everyone else benefits from it! My hubby is the one who plays football etc with our wee boy, while I always stood at the side :(...I still don't play much football lol..but I can run a bit along the beach and we have some great family walks :)

I had to talk myself into every diet I've tried, so good on you acting on spur of the moment! :) I caught sight of myself in a hotel mirror 2 years ago and was horrified (I had avoided full length mirrors for years!)..I talked myself into seriously loosing the weight for about a week after that hotel fright..then decided i would never look or feel like that again. Do you have much to lose Nettie?

Do you have just the one child at the moment? :)

Morning hun - you have a busier day than me planned lol. Ill be doing my usual drop off and pick up at the pub and thats about it. Ill be having quiches for lunch and chicken with veg for tea I think. After my veg out yesterday ill have to do something for damage limitation lol. Ive only been up 30 mins a nice lie in :D

I am going out to buy a full length mirror during the week, I have lost 15lbs so far and I can't tell but other people say they can... maybe I cant tell because I can never see past my shoulders in a mirror?! lol
My aim is to lose 70lbs this year (I use lbs instead of stone as it feels more achievable... 5 stone sounds so much more than 70lbs) when I have lost that I will then reassess whether I want to lose more. I should be aiming to lose about 7.5 stone but I have always had naturally big thighs and hips so I don't want to look totally out of proportion. I just want to be happy when I look in the mirror. I am scared of getting loose skin though so I really should start exercising now!
I have 2 children, my son Tyler is almost 9 and my daughter Holly is almost 6. They have different dads but my OH has been in with us since Tyler was 4 months old. I could never have lost weight when I was with Tylers dad, he would have accused me of having an affair and all sorts. Its funny though because since I left him each GF he has had have been bigger and bigger than the one before, its like he uses the girls weight as something to keep hold of them... he always told me that no on else would want me! He's a fool! lol
Do you just have the one son? x

I wondered when you would make an appearance! What a nice lie in. I've just had a massive brunch.. feel very overfull now... had 3 slices of bacon, 2 fried eggs, mushrooms, tomatoes and 2 slices of toast! Ste makes massive meals.. I did share my bacon with the dog in the end! How's your back today? x

You've got all the right ideas Nettie, breaking it down into mini goals helps a lot! reward yourself with wee non food treats! every 7-10 lbs, and before you know it, you'll be where you want to be. Very sensible to reassess and only aim for how happy, healthy and comfortable you feel at a certain weight. I'll never been a skinny minnie size zero, but when I feel totally fine with myself..then it is time to stop! ..and maintain ;)

I was married to man for 18 years who didn't like me losing weight, I lost over 5 stone when I was with him with great difficulty!!!..he once started shouting at me in the middle of a busy macdonalds..because I only wanted a diet drink! He didn't like other men looking at me as I got slimmer, he eventually cheated on me, i found out and divorced him! She was a bigger lady...so I know what you mean about men who try to control larger ladies! he too told me, I wouldn't find anyone else..I did!!!..I married my soulmate 5 years ago and he is everything my ex wasn't including very supportive re weight loss..as he wants me around for many years for him and my children! :)

Must go and make some lunch now, hunger pangs!!!

Talk again soon, anytime you want a chat offline, just send me a pm, I'll always answer :)

Lol I like my lie ins, theres no rush to get up cos the kids are grown now. My back constantly has a dull ache which i can cope with sitting down. Its when I stand for too long ie cooking or standing in a Q its like a dagger in my back. I wish it would just fekk off lol

Hi all, just a quick message from my phone before I have tea, I have had a very busy day today! Thought I'd get my craft stuff out and despite burning my fingers on my glue gun- which happens every time- I have started on Holly's memory box and I've made myself some weight loss jars after seeing them in the magazine. Let's see if I can add pics....

It will only let me upload one of the jars, will keep trying to add the memory box x

They're great nettie. Really pretty and very inspiring moving those pebbles I should think. Just imagine when there are more in the right Han the left. Woohoo!!! I am saving £2 for every lb I lose & £1 for every lb d loses. He is saving £1 per lb for each of us. When I get to goal there should be £135 so we will go away for the night somewhere to celebrate. If I drop my target we get a nicer room/meal too - or I get to buy a new smaller bit of clothing!

I had a 30 day shred DVD, I used it once then it disappeared, was a total mystery that. Have you noticed a difference in your body shape or toning since using it? x

Yes quite a lot of difference. Not much weight loss so far in fact poor weight loss but definitely fitter and smaller. Measuring in 5 days when I've done the 30 days. Didn't measure til day 15 so any change will be over just 15 days so we shall see!! It's really hard though...

I did start off saving £1 for every lb lost but I stopped doing it, dunno why! I think I might start doing it again and add the amounts Ste is losing too. We could use it to do something together then. We are going to a spa for the weekend when I get to target.. he doesn't know that yet though! I so cannot wait to start buying smaller clothes, I have missed shopping so much but refused to buy anything new until I get into a smaller size, although I did buy a new dress when it was my birthday x

I can imagine its tough, she doesn't go soft on people does she? I'm not sure I could do it, I'm so unfit! I am definitely going to do the biggest loser DVD tomorrow when I get back from the kids parents evening x
