I told my dad about the TEFL program so I can go teach in China or different countries. My dad looks at me like I'm stupid and doesn't say anything. It hurts. He tells me instead to go talk to my cousin and ask her about cosmology school. I told him I don't want that, I want to get out of here. I love traveling and to go to china and teach English and get paid and travel? Seriously? Heck yes! But it's expensive to get that education. I can do 4 weeks or part time of 11 weeks and I can do it online.
Sigh.
I just want to get out of here but at the same time, how would I leave my dog? He is my world and I wouldn't be able to bring him with me.
Sigh.
I've been wanting to do TEFL for years now. Its not awfully expensive in the UK - around £1100 for the 4 week course, but I'd have to quit my job and live in my van for the duration of the course as its not local to where I live. I'd then be stuck until some work came through, and wouldn't be able to claim any benefits as I'd have voluntarily left my job. So saving up for it at the minute, and waiting for the right moment to take the plunge. If its something you want to do, then go for it! Even if you save $40 a month, it will happen a lot quicker than if you don't I have friends who are living and working in China and they love it!
