Foodie thoughts and munchie mumbles, food diary of a self confessed chocoholic

Well done Girl! looking back at the last few days and I think it's so important to be honest and track everything.. even those icecreams that you didnt mean to eat.. Go You :) xx

Have u spoken to anyone about having an earlier break? X

Yes, had a chat with our duty manager and explained about the health implications for me as I'm a diabetic, I'm sure they wouldn't be happy if I ended up passing out on the shop floor lol!

Thanks Jo :) I totally agree, I used to say if nobody sees me eat it then it has no calories and doesn't count, but this time the consequences of over eating and eating the wrong stuff are too bad to ignore and pretending it isn't happening or it that it will go away could make me very ill.

Anyhoo, feeling much happier the last two days. Had two good food days and also decided to change my wi day to Sunday as it's my only set day off and rushing around on a Monday morning at 5:30 am to get ready for work, wi, eat brekkie etc is too much, plus it means I have new weeklies so I can enjoy my Sunday without worrying what I'm eating is going to spoil my wi. It's usually the only day I have a cooked brekkie, not every week but most weeks and I love my Sunday roast too :)

I have weighed in this morning and lost 1lb so happy with that :)

I did go over my weeklies this week so I'm happy I had a loss, I didn't earn any activity points but I did have 2 busy days in the bakery at work Friday and Saturday which I don't normally do and did a lot of running around so hopefully that will have covered my slip ups this week.

I am going out either Tuesday or Wednesday for dinner with my sister and family for her birthday, we are going to a carvery and they do some lighter options on their menu so I'm happy to go and will enjoy it. My sister doesn't drink and we'll be taking cars so I can stick with sparkling water and skip dessert. They do enormous portions for the desserts and you can get them to takeaway, but as my hubby, sister and her hubby are all watching what we eat it will be easier to say no lol!

Right off to catch up on everyone's diaries, first chance I've had all week lol!

Well done on the loss!! My WI is a monday evening.. It can be a good thing as it stops you going mad at the weekend but also a pain in the proverbial ass if you do tend to go a bit overboard as its very hard to claw back points with a couple of hours to WI ha.. that is the main reason I have lost and gained so often since Christmas, my night out was always a Sunday night.. I mean, dont ask why I didnt just take a break from the 8pp cans of cider I was drinking may I add hahahaha.. Also, hoping this will be my first full 7 days tracking EVER, actually not hoping, I know it will.. I love it here already :bananalove: xx

Here's to a good week hun :angel09:Mini's is a fantastic place for support, I'm doing better at home this time round and I'm sure part of it is having somewhere to come and get things off my mind and share other peoples ideas and experiences, cos let's face it, we're all here for the same thing. I don't mind the meetings but find I get bored with the same stuff week in week out and I've had one or two rubbish leaders who are only interested in their 'star' pupils if you know what I mean. This is the most weight I've lost going it alone. Before I couldn't even manage a week lol!

Sunday is the only day Mark and I get off together, so sometimes we like to go out walking or have a nice roast dinner and chill out and Mark loves his puds so I feel mean depriving him lol! So weighing in on a Sunday means I can enjoy the day without worrying about WI.

Just had my brekkie and planned dinner, having a roast chicken dinner and lemon meringue pots for afters.

So far today is looking like this

The lemon meringue pots are a WW recipe, I bought the book a while ago from Asda, they had a whole series of them, only thing is they don't give any points values, just worked out the pp for the pots and it's 3pp per serving. Hope it tastes as nice as it looks! Plus it uses sweetner not sugar so that's even better.

They had loads of these books, I think they were 2 for a fiver, they are called Weight Watcher mini series and the two I got were midweek meals and weekends but like I said, there were at least a dozen books in the series. Haven't tried any of the recipes yets as I forgot I'd bought them, only found them out the other day after moving a huge stack of books from the side of the bed lol!

Moving your WI to a Sunday sounds like an excellent idea as you and Mark (Hope I didn't just make his name up lol) can enjoy your day off together :) I saw those WW Mini Series Books but it irritated me that they are WW and don't have the PP listed! Might as well use a normal cookbook! X Did you WI today? X

Lol no you didn't make his name up. Well pudding was a disapointment. The custard wouldn't thicken and the first attempt turned into scrambled egg. The meringue on top was nice though.
My lovely roast

OMG your Roast looks yummy! Jealous.com! X

It turned out awesome, even if I say so myself :D I've updated my menu for today as I didn't have some of my planned drinks and I decided to do mash and roasties. There looks more mash than there was really ass I added an onion and a load of cabbage and some garlic, it was so tasty. I had 200g of potatoes but split them between the mash and the roasties. I took a page out of your book Serena and made up a whole pack of stuffing, I added extra sage and a small chopped onion them made up 10 stuffing balls, cooked one each and the rest went in the freezer for another day :)

I did weigh myself this morning and had lost a lb so happy with that. Marks Mum turned up as we were having our dinner so I was a bit annoyed, that's twice in the last few weeks she's just turned up because we hadn't answered the phone. Good job we hadn't planned anything lol!

Right I need to stop waffling on here and get my competition sheets typed up and printed out for tomorrow as we are having a back to school charity event this week and I volunteered to do the under 10's drawing competition :D

Ooh! Forgot to say I got my 5% this week :bunnydance::bunnydance:

Yes, it was gorgeous, made a real change too :)

Well done on losing another pound, and on getting your 5%.

Thanks, it felt good this morning, usually I'm stressed because I've eaten a huge Sunday dinner the day before lol!

Mmmm I might have to try that! Which cabbage did you use? X

Well it was some chinese flat cabbage I bought from tesco the other week. I ordered it on-line and when it came it was huge lol! so I sliced quite a lot of it up and put it in the freezer so it wouldn't be wasted. I'd never had it before but it is very nice raw or steamed, a bit like white cabbage, not so cabbagey tasting and slightly sweet and crisp.

Mmmmmm sounds nice! just bought some Posh Baby Cabbages from Asda, looking forward to trying that with dinner tonight. X

Hey ladies, just a quick post, been a bit busy this week what with work and my sisters birthday celebrations. Hopefully I will get around to posting my last few days menus tomorrow. Off to Crystal Peaks in a bit to pick up some bits for my hols. Naughty sneaky peak this morning shows I'm on track for a loss, I've planned my late lunch today at subway and this evening I think I'm going to use up a box of Ainsley Arriotts Lamb kotfa something or other. Works out 11 pp for half the pack. Trying not to spend too much as I am hanging on to my cash for our week away. I have been feeling great, pointed every morsel and already eaten out twice this week, I feel so virtuous lol! Had the salmon superfruit salad at pizza express yesterday and it was gorgeous!

Crystal Peaks is a shopping centre near Sheffield, not far from where we live lol! It's small but very handy as it has all the basics, unlike Meadowhall which is a huge shopping center nr Sheffield that has a lot of higher end shops and lots of restaurants and expensive stuff lol!

Haven't weighed in yet, just going to see if his lordship is going to get up as we are off to Go Outdoors today to get some new walking gear, we're thinking it might be a good idea to get an extra set of waterproofs each as it's been a bit wet up in the Lake District this last month lol! Think I might get a couple of fleeces and some thermal base layers too.

It's bloomin freezing this morning although the sun is shining and it's a beautiful morning, think I might be digging my woolies out today :winter_brr:

Last weeks menus

I did use all my weeklies and 6 of my 16 activity points, I also wore my old pedometer to work a few times this week and I do at least my healthy amount of steps on a normal day and well over on a busy day in the bakery so I'm very happy with that. At least I know I'm getting some exercise even if it's only while I potter about at work. I have been out shopping twice this week, once to Meadowhall and once to Crystal Peaks so I've added all the walking I did to my activity points as I only do this once a month so it's not a regular thing.Just ordered a new ww pedometer from ebay as mine is the old one that shows half points.
