Foodie thoughts and munchie mumbles, food diary of a self confessed chocoholic

Ooo! Pieeeee! Yum!

thanks for the recipe sounds delish

Are u gonna have a go at making it too? I was thinking of actually putting it in a Pie, I reckon that would be really tasty! X

Well done on the loss. The lentil dhal does look good - haven't made one for ages, so will give yours a try soon I think.

Yesterday really sucked, Tuesday night I was baking scones for our charity fund raiser and ended up trying one, but then when I got to work I had to spend my entire shift looking at a table full of gorgeous cupcakes, ultimate chocolate fudge cake, THE MOST AMAZING rocky road, huge cookies etc! I deliberately didn't take my purse to work so I couldn't be tempted but I was really bummed out :( Got home totally starving because we had been so busy all I managed to eat was 2 OSS breakfast biscuits, I was up at 5:30am and not home while 1:30pm.
Had a bit of a pants week so far, been struggling not to go and raid the cupboards, actually got up at 12:30 last night and went to get some super noodles because I couldn't get them out of my head! However I did stop and point them and they were ridiculously high so I opted for fruit n fibre instead, and I weighed and pointed it so I guess that was a battle won.

Spent last night sorting out my phone diary so I remember to order my meds before running out, added in all the birthdays I keep forgetting and put my next three weeks rotas in so now I'm feeling all organised, plus I added my WI day and each week I'm going to add my weight loss so when I'm feeling down it will spur me on.Yesterday's food

The lamb hotpot was delicious, I was using up odds and ends out of the freezer and actually didn't have enough minced lamb to make what I was going to make so ended up chucking in what was left of some swede I'd frozen and the last of a bag of mixed veg

Lamb Hotpot
Serves 2
8 PP per portion
170g Morrison's frozen minced lamb
3 tbsp mixed veg
2 portions swede (about 120g)
dried mint & parsley
half a lge leek
200g new potatoes par boiled and thinly sliced
1 tbsp tomato puree

Chuck everything except the potatoes in a pan with a bit of water and cook until leeks have softened. Add a couple of tsp gravy granules and more water of needed to thick the stock. Place mixture into 2 individual casserole dishes and lay the sliced potatoes on top, place in med/hot oven until potatoes are crispy and golden.

Total weeklies used up to now 32/49

Gave my kitchen a good scrub earlier, just waiting for dishwasher to finish and I'm going to raid the fridge and use up what's left of the fresh stuff to make soup, and give the fridge a wipe out ready for the shopping arriving tomorrow. Did my shopping on-line earlier. Ordered some odds and ends for my holiday, first day off in ages I've actually felt like tackling the house :) My energy is coming back slowly.

Lamb hotpot from yesterday :)

Just cleaned fridge and used all my old veggies up. Making vl point soup for tomorrow and weekend and prepared a big salad to go with tonights tea. Going to sit and have a cuppa now and a catch up on minimins :D

Check u out with your planning and organisation! The Hotpot looks yummy :) I think you did really well to avert your Super Noodles moment with Fruit n Fibre, such a big step to take control like that and you should be very proud of yourself. Keep up the hard work :) x

Aww thanks Serena, I'm happy I resisted but was so down from work. Everyone else was buying all the gorgeous cakes and stuff from our bake sale and all I could do was listen to my tummy rumbling :(

Well my 1pp soup is all whizzed up and portioned and put in the fridge ready for when I get in from work and salad made up ready for tea. Might have an options before bed.

well done resisting all the yums fair play to ya for staying strong. Hotpot looks yummy. God your so organised. I have to be organised otherwise i just go right off plan

Lol! Not normally organised, usually I'm flying by the seat of my pants :roofles: But after the last few days I just felt I need to feel more in control. Well it's nearly 06:15 so off to work I go, see you all later :grouphugg:

Hiya Serena :) I was glad to finish work today, I've been a right grumpy pants lol! Had a lazy afternoon snoozing and reading and then Asda delivery arrived and we could have our tea. Can't say I'm impressed with Asda veggies, actually emailed and complained, the swede and carrots they sent were almost out of date and looked like they'd already gone off! Won't be shopping on-line with them again.

Bought the Birds Eye vegetable nuggets and the quorn mushroom and garlic escalopes to try, had the nuggets for tea and they were very tasty :)Got some filo pastry to make pie on Sunday, think I'm going to make chicken and mushroom and got a tub of frozen rhubarb so might make a mini strudel or crumble.Treated myself to 1 finger of twirl today and gave the other to Mark, he's also trying to lose weight but refuses to stick to a plan so I've told him I will cook for him if I'm cooking but he has to sort his own food otherwise, he wasn't impressed with 1 finger of twirl lol!Just realised looking at today's food that I've had a lot of fruit today, plus a couple of breakfast biscuits and some chocolate, oops!

I couldn't remember which ones you'd said were nice and I don't think they had the others. Yeah! Not impressed with Asda lol!

Well I was thinking that I'm not going to used 6 sheets on my pie so there would be some left over, I might make them and save them until Monday night after WI for a treat :) Twirls are my fav so it took all my willpower to share :snooty:

How many PP do those Escalopes work out? (Mine are 7pp) Would It be one sheet per mini strudel? X

I haven't worked them out yet but can't imagine they would be much different. I think 1 sheet of filo would be enough, I'm going to sit down and work out the points tomorrow after work so will let you know then :) I think we might have the escalopes tomorrow, or I might have a go at a recipe for lentil burgers I found in one of the WW recipe books. Hmmm! Decisions, decisions lol!
