Got tonnes of cauliflower in my freezer n just seen this recipe I had on my recipes thread for cauliflower mash.. not sure if any of u wana try it out as a low PP substitute for mashed potato.. Or to trick yer littles ones into eating some veg ;)

Creamy Cauliflower Mash
1 head cauliflower
60g low-fat cream cheese
¼ teaspoon white pepper
½ teaspoon kosher salt
2 garlic cloves , minced
2 tablespoons parmesan cheese, grated
paprika

Directions:
1. Cut cauliflower into florets of even size.
2. Drop into boiling salted water and cook for about 15 minutes or until very soft when pierced with fork.
3. Drain well.
4. Put cream cheese in food processor (or blender).
5. Add cooked cauliflower and garlic and blend until creamy.
6. Add parmesan cheese and salt and pepper to taste.
7. Pour into 1 quart greased casserole dish. Top with a light sprinkle of paprika and bake in gas mark 3 oven for about 20 minutes or until bubbly and hot.

Bit daring for me lol, does sound nice though :0)

I love cauliflower.. but I think this would be good for days I've little or no PP's left.. Or just for a little something different...
Although potatoes are free on SF so no need for the low PP sub... :)

Will do.. I plan on making it soon.. But that cud just stay a plan ha ha ha...

QUESTION:
If I have 50g dry pasta.. what is that is cooked weight???

Yep it was a bold thing but it was also a low fat version! Only 8pp! :) Dread to think what it would be if I'd gotten it out somewhere hehe.

It depends how long it's cooked hon - I tend to overcook mine a little as I like it soft which means it's heavier cuz it's soaked up more water. Why do you ask hon? x

He has a bigger portion than I do.. So I just want to be able take my usual size portion (40g or 60g if I'm starving) but cook it together.. No point having 2 pots on the go with the same thing in both...
I only have brown pasta n rice in the house so if he doesn't like it, he doesn't have to eat it :D

OK so the book says (I don't know why I didn't look here in the first place.. doh!!)
Wholemeal, dreid, 40g = 4pp / Wholemeal, Cooked, 150g = 5pp
So.. Does that 40g at 4pp increase to 150g when cooked and you add the extra PP??? Or do we think the 150g - 50g dried???

Oh right,Jon was following WW with me so we used to have the same size portion,I have pasta, rice and spaghetti left from before I did sf so I don't use it but makes sense for Jon to have it so it doesn't go to waste ;0)

Jonathan would fall thru cracks in the ground if he lost any weight... He's a toothpick!!!! lol
Yea definitely makes sense for him to use it up.. I've used brown rice n pasta for a couple of years now I'd say.. White carbs n my stomach don't get on!!!!!!
