Fresh start diary

Bad news at both :-( 1.5lbs off at WI so still 3.5lb gain. Don't know what's happening with my body at the moment. When I think of the things I've said no to this week- fish and chips, ice cream, take away it infuriates me that I've stil only lost that. Hmm.
Have to have wisdom tooth taken out :-( been referred to the hospital for surgery on it. At least I'll be unconscious!
Having chicken rogan josh tonight from the curry heaven book hope its nice I'm starving!

Gonna make scan bran carrot cake tomorrow which will be 1/2 syn for the lot. Must make sure I drink double the water I usually do as last time I had scan bran I was very constipated for about 2 weeks! TMI I know!
I've got 3 red days planned this week to see how I cope with less carbs...quite excited actually!
My exercise goals for the week are to swim once for an hour and to make it to a class or the gym once. I think that's realistic given my shifts.

Remember a few weeks ago I told you about OH grandma? Well she's been in hospital ever since, gradually getting better but today she took a turn for the worse and has been told shes high risk for a heart attack. She's signed a 'do not resuscitate' form as well so my OH is distraught. Bad bad times and it puts my 1.5lb worries into harsh perspective :-/
 
oh god, what a shame....not good news chick...when you hadn't updated about her, i kinda thought she must've been on the mend.

i get what you mean about the loss.....BUT it's still a loss....so take a big well done! on the chin from me! :D
i know you were prob hoping for 5 off...but slow and steady wins the race...and maybe a wee mix up - ie red days will help? plus you might have a bigger one next week?
but just think, if you hadn't said no to those things, you might have not had a loss at all....then you'd have just felt sh1t :(

i've been thinking about doing one too but i can't really get my head around it....like having to syn beans, sweetcorn etc...i'm confuzzled lol

been hunting for someone's red day diary to get an idea but so far, haven't fancied what i've seen....gonna keep looking though x
 
I posted my red day plan on the red day thread and got the a-ok that it was all good! I'm having sausages and omelette for breakfast, pitta bread with cheese and pastrami for lunch (A&B) and cottage pie for tea with carrot and swede mash topping instead of potato. If I make the carrot cake I might have half for breakfast instead and half as a snack later on.
I could def only do red days on certain days as its not great for grabbing stuff quickly. My other ideas are pulled pork salad and wholemeal roll or bolognaise in some roasted hollowed out peppers instead of spaghetti.

i'm useless at finding things on here...i hunted yesterday for red day stuff but couldnt find anything of use! lol....obviously a "me" thing.

I think the easiest way for me to do red days is to use pitta/bread as healthy extra in my main meal. So thinking of jerk chicken skewers with peppers and cherry toms, a salad and 1 or 2 pittas depending on what I've used across the day. If I'm hungry I'm terrible, I'll end up eating something bad so need to bulk up on things. First one tomorrow we'll see if I'm chewing my leg off!
 
Good morning!

On a late shift today which normally puts me in a bad mood but given that I have a night out planned tomorrow I don't really mind. As a result I'm cutting back on syns for the rest of the week to compensate for the vodka that will be consumed lol.

First red day today....

Breakfast
Scan bran cake with raspberries and strawberries (HEX B1 and 1/2syn)

Lunch
Cheese & chicken pitta bread. Pineapple (HEX A1 & HEX B2)

Tea
Cottage pie made with carrot and swede mash, topped with cheese (HEX A2)
 
i need to get on to this and read more into it so i can plan a menu for a day. have you found it ok? x

honestly ive found it just as easy as EE. having the two healthy extras means Im still having carbs, but theyre controlled rather than EE when i probably go overboard and green when i DEFINITELY go overboard! thinking of having pulled pork with wholemeal rolls and salad one night, jerk chicken skewers and salad another night, bolognaise or chilli in peppers, a roast dinner without the potatoes or maybe a healthy extra's worth. ideas are a-flowing! im mainly thinking of meals that i eat on EE that stuff me and I think i could cope without the carbs, like the piri piri pork or pitta pasty. best thing to do is stick a menu plan on the red day thread and let the experts point you in the right direction xx
 
Morning!

At work this morning and I am so tired! Feel like a zombie and I'm going to Liverpool tonight so need to perk up big style! Probably going to end up around the 60syn mark so am cutting back everywhere else to compensate.
Back on EE today

Well stuck to plan on Saturday night, didn't succumb to the take away like everyone else did but yesterday I fell of the wagon in an attempt to soothe the headache! Oh well, line drawn happy to start again today :)

Bacon and WW sausage sandwich (HEX B1 & 1.5syns)

Sweet chilli chicken and pastrami salad with wholemeal roll (HEX B2 and HEXA1)

Carrot and swede topped cottage pie

Just a quick note- OH grandma passed away this morning so I've come home from work to be with him. Very sad time and I think SW will be taking a back seat for a couple of days :-(
