Fresh start diary

Hi!
I've decided to come back on here today and post a food diary as I'm fully back on track tonight. I can't make weigh in as it clashes with a family gathering so have booked a holiday. Hopefully the funeral won't clash next week with group but it's out of my control.
The past couple of days have been tough but there's a sense of relief that she's at peace now and not in any more pain. I know it was hard for people to see her in that state. Now the organising and sorting process begins....which is very emotional. The house that she lived in for 65 years is to be sold and all her things need going through :/
Anyway, enough sadness, it should be a time to celebrate her life too so I'm staying positive and hearing lots of stories about her which is nice.
Food for today.....

EE Day

Breakfast
Museli & 2 peaches (HEX B)

Lunch
Spicy tomato and red pepper soup

Snack
Fruit salad of watermelon, pineapple, satsuma and grapes

Tea
Steak, mash, broccoli and gravy (1syn)

Thanks

not a nice time chick...but as you say, she's at peace now.
don't be worrying about missing class etc....this puts things into perspective huh?

good food for today tho ;) x

Hey!

So Friday has arrived and I am totally ready for a weekend off! This has been such a long week we're all exhausted. Bought some bathroom scales yesterday and have decided to do SW from home...might join online and do it that way. After much deliberation I came to the conclusion I don't like the group, i dont get anything out of it, I no longer stay to IT so why pay £5 for standing on some scales which I can do at home? Eek big decision but one I'm glad (and my bank balance!) I've made. My personal mini target is '2 Stone To Egypt' (20th September) so I have a goal. Aiming for 3lbs off this week and hoping red days will help that.

Red day

Breakfast
Pomegranate and mixed fruit salad

Lunch
Spicy tomato and red pepper soup

Tea
Bolognaise in roasted peppers with salad and a pitta (HEX B &A)

Gonna make a carrot cake with scan bran for second HeX B

ooh let me know how the carrot cake goes...i've looked at the recipe lots but never done it.
and your soup...sounds fab...how do you make it??

RE doing this from home....i think you'll do just fine, you know how the plan works and to be honest, i'd be better doing the same cos i CAN'T ever stay to class so i do just pay my money to get weighed.
you'll prob get enough support/ideas on here anyway and as you say, can set your own goals and save on the bank balance too lol.

enjoy your time off...i can imagine you need it! x

The soup is a recipe I found on here I can't remember who posted it. I put 2 chopped red peppers, 2 chopped fresh toms, a red chilli, 250ml passata, tin of toms and 1tbsp bovril in100ml water, and one chopped onion in a pan. Boil for 30mins then blitz. Was really nice and I'm not really a soup person. I added some chilli flakes and garlic salt as well to give it a kick.

The only down side to going it alone is the 'scales fear' lol. Even though I don't stay to group I behave myself coz I'm still facing the scales and I'm not sure doing it at home will have the same effect. But I will try!

Will report back on carrot cake!

So the carrot cake....it's definitely the best scan bran cake I've had but its not carrot cake-like! I put more sweetener than the recipe called from and it was needed. Only had a quarter and think I'd struggle to eat the whole thing today so might have half and an alpen light x

might need to give it a go...was it the one from the sw website you did?

i did the cherry bakewell one the other day (just the usual recipe but you use a cherry yog and 3-4 caps of almond essence....its been nice for a wee change...and as near cherry bakewell we'll get for 0 syns lol x

Yep it was indeed. It's so filling I really couldn't eat the whole thing so wondering how long it will last in fridge as I'm not planning a red day til Monday....reckon it will be ok in the fridge/sealed container til then?
Tea was mega filling and really nice. Think I felt more stuffed than when I have spaghetti with it. I find red days easy if I'm working but think when I have the same days off as OH I'll have EE x

yeah, it should keep ok...i make mines and if i'm working i use my HE's on other stuff so only use one or 2 bits a day...so mines is usually there for a few days.

i've done a red day today too but gonna do EE tomorrow i think x

Good morning diary,

I feel really 'off' this morning, a bit of belly ache and a bit sick :-/ got to take my OHs heavily pregnant sister to their grandmas house today as estate agents are coming round to start valuing the house. I just hope she doesn't do anything crazy like go into labour on me! She's due on 31st but her midwife doesn't think she'll make it that far so I'm nervous she'll pop!
Anyhow, I start nights tonight and don't finish until Saturday morning (doing one extra for overtime and holiday money) so I'm planning on going back to bed this afternoon for a few hours. This means my meals will be all back to front for a few days.

Red day
Breakfast
1/2 SB carrot cake and 1 alpen light (HEX B1)

Tea
Pulled pork in a wholemeal pitta (HEX B2) with salad of lettuce, peppers, spring onions, carrot sticks and cheese (HEX A)

tough week for you this week chick....but worth it for the extra money i guess!

i'm sure today will be fine....fingers crossed anyway lol.

hope you feel better soon....maybe your wee sleep later will help x

Hi diary!

One night shift down, 4 to go....that sounds depressing!! The shift itself was fine but I didn't sleep too cracking again and feel like a zombie lol. Also I'm absolutely ravenous today and doing a red day so can't resort to an emergency mugshot lol.

Back to front menu for Red day....

2am cottage pie topped with carrot and swede

6am- fruit salad of strawberries, watermelon, grapes, pineapple and satsuma

13.00- scan bran pizza (HEX B1 and HEX A)

19.00- gammon shanks with broccoli and carrot and swede

Will probably have a Special K chewy delight as second HEX B or maybe some museli during handover if I'm still hungry.

Syns- I've had a time out finger and 3 mikado for 6 syns

poor you on the lack of sleep huni...i don't envy you although i've worked nightshift before and it was my favorite shift....as long as you get a sleep eh!

food for today sounding good...is it the gammon shanks from tesco you have? x

Yep it's them ones. It was gorgeous! I ended up having 100g of parsnips with it which is 1/2HEXB and having second half now (17.5g museli sprinkled over blackberries). Yummy tea!

I like nights as they're quieter (I've probably jinxed myself now saying that!) but they're very antisocial lol. X

hopefully you've not jinxed yourself!

i've had those gammon things before...i thought they were nice...but much prefer a big gammon joint to have with all the trimmings.
mmm glad i've got one in the fridge...that'll be getting scheduled in soon me thinks ;) x

I love gammon but my OH hates it, he finds it too salty. At least these shanks come individually and I can just have one. Bloody men!

Hello diary!

Good morning....kinda! 2 down 3 to go on the night situation, they're just soul destroying lol. I'm looking forward to finishing (especially as its also payday!!) and getting back into normal mode. I've been doing red days and one thing I have noticed is that I am far more hungry when I wake up than I am on EE, think the lack of carbs catches up with me having not eaten anything but fruit since 3am. Might start having a slice of toast when I get in before bed and see how I feel then.

Menu

3am- cottage pie with carrot & swede

6am- fruit salad of watermelon, tangerine, grapes, pineapple and blackberries

7pm- Thai 7 spice chicken, stir-fried with peppers, jalepenos and onions. Having this in lettuce wraps with WW pitta (HEX B), cheese (HEX A) and carrot sticks.

10pm- 2 x alpen lights (HEX B2)

Not sure on syns- thinking hoops and crosses (4.5), and a cornetto for 8.5 taking me to 13

Evening!

2 more left awoohoo! I'm not sure why I find this exciting as its still 2 more days of being back to front but feels like the end is in sight! Weigh in is tomorrow morning, my first at home one. I've had a good week but no exercise and *week has reared it's ugly head again so we'll see. Got another 100% week ahead before the hen weekend so I'm staying focused

Red day menu

3am- carrot and swede topped cottage pie

6am- blackberries, watermelon, pineapple, tangerine and grapes

7pm- chilli con carne (3 syns), with roasted pepper and WW pitta and cheese (HEX A & B)

10pm- 2 ryvita with low low spread (rest of HEX A and second HEX B)

Syns- hoops and crosses (4.5), chilli mix (3), time out finger (4.5) = 12 for the day
