FUNCURLS FOOD DIARY, BLOG and CHIT CHAT!! New target set!!

Hi hun, the moussaka went down a treat, both with myself and dh, which is always a great litmus test!! I would recommend you grill the aubergine slices well before assembling the dish, and make sure you have plenty of potato slices! I made the topping with 3 egg yolks, v.f.f fromage frais, nutmeg and chopped parsley and it tasted lovely Did you see the quorn moussaka recipe on the SW website? I'm going to try that way too!!X

I'm doing Red Days until Monday, so will try to make a mini Moussaka just for myself with Quorn (don't have any extra lean mince around) and maybe syn the potatoe. Need to have a closer look at all the Moussaka recipes and make it either tomorrow or Sunday as my aubergines will go off soon! Thanks for the tips and topping suggestion. Have a great weekend!

Cool! Hope you're having a great weekend hun! I was working a long shift today, but I'm off tomorrow, then back in Monday 7.30-3, then nights Tues and Wed and then a whole 14 days off!!! Can't wait!!! I hope you enjoyed your mini moussaka if you made it !! I think I'm going to do a king prawn, butternut squash and chilli risotto tomorrow!! Trying to work through the contents of my freezer at the moment in a bid to cut our food bill down a bit and trying to be a bit creative and use what we've got in the fridge and in the cupboards!! Speak soon, if we don't chat before Monday, good luck with WI!! I weighed on scales in work today and was showing a 2.5-3lb gain, which is the worst thing I could have done because they are probably completely different to the scales at SW, and I've been so 100% on plan I'd be very disappointed if it were true!! Shouldn't have even bothered as getting myself all worked up now!!!XXXXXXXXXX

Didn't get a chance to make the moussaka as I have guests over and can't spend a lot of time cooking. Let's see if I get a chance today as I'm babysitting 3 of my friends kids, so have 6 kids to keep entertained today. The king prawn BNS rissotto sounds lovely!
Don't worry too much about the scales hon. I did the mistake of weighing half way through this week and it showed a gain too (but not surprised as it's my * week), but have just kept the scales hidden in the loft as I just want to enjoy my food and I know if it's not this week, then next week the weight will come off. We know the plan and we know it works, so why stress ourselves so much.
Lucky you 14 days off...any plans???

I don't even own any scales at home (apart from my kitchen ones!!!) I don't want to be an obsessive weigher!! But curiosity won me over and I couldn't help myself yesterday!! Boo hoo!! You're right though, sooo silly to get hung up over that, it's about the whole picture and the main thing is I'm still bang on track and WILL eventually get there!!! And so will you hun!!

I'm not going away anywhere during my time off! Maybe a couple of day trips, but generally seeing it as me time and hubby time (although he's working during the week)! I'm going to do lots of walks, meet up with friends, clean, read, watch films, cook nice meals!! All the things I don't normally have enough time to do!! Should get stuck into some gardening too but unfortunately not too passionate about that one!! Got any plans for the next couple of weeks yourself, some nice family trips out? How old are your children?X

Is 2.5 syns high for a biscuit then? I don't eat them often, so I don't know!

Hi Clairey!! Well a plain digestive biccie is 3.5 syns so it's not all that bad, but they are quite small so you're not getting a lot for your money! Makes me realise how many syns I was consuming pre-SW!! I would probably have been able to have about 10 without even thinking about it!! 25 syns- Urrrgghh!! Had a good weekend hun? X

I was working all day yesterday- 7am-8pm! But off today- yayyy!! Spent this morning at home chillaxing and then went off for a lovely walk with my friend Gail- down to the beach, up and over cliffs, along more beach, over dunes, up and over hills! About 8 miles I think! Next Sat off out into town on a work night out!! I'm panicking about what to wear!! May have to buy something new, but haven't got a clue what to look for!!XXX

I shouldn't complain, it's fab that my clothes are getting too big for me! Fantastic infact, but we're on a tight budget at the moment! I've given hubby hell about spending so he's agreed to clamp down and now I'm panicking about how to get around the inevitable shopping spree!! LOL! It's payday Wed so that's my justification for getting a new outfit!!LOL!XXX

I'm the same, clotheswise, but I'm a hoarder, so I have loads of small things from before, which are fitting again. Mind you, I was moaning at a friend on Saturday, saying that everytime I go out, I buy a new outfit, and I just don't get the wear, and then what do I do? Go and order a new top for a gig we're going to! Duh!!! It was in the sale though, that's my excuse!

Hoarding comes in handy in these situations!! Unfortunately I'm a throwerouter (well giverawayer in the case of clothes) and I'm kicking myself as I spent so much on clothes when I got down to a 12-14 years ago and I got rid of them all, and I know for a fact I'd still like a lot of them and would wear them in this day and age!! Grrrwww!!X

Week 40- Day 3 (Thurs)- Extra Easy- Day off.

6am (still on night shift)- Thai Mugshot (0.5 syns).

At home- 9am- 3 clementines.

Went to bed.

On getting up- 2.30pm- 3 quorn sausages and a tin of Harry Ramsdens mushy peas.

Had haircut 4.30pm and got caught short as had to go straight to choir practice from haircut which meant no food til late!! So nipped into Spar and had 200g pack of Bernard Matthews wafer thin turkey thinking it was free (6 syns- uughuuuh!!).

After choir/pub at home-10.30pm- 1/2 small sweet potato microwaved and mashed with a tin of baby carrots and petits pois with Mayflower curry sauce (2 syns). A choc/orange HIFI bar.

Total syns 8.5 (But no HEXa- whoops!)

Oh no, what a pain! My problem is that I don't like a lot of what I'm fitting back into but I'm not gonna complain if it's for work, so long as it fits and looks smart enough!
