I've done about 18 months Cardiac ITU, but not really my cuppa tea! 20 odd years of general ITU! Oh dear that makes me sound so old!!!

How did you make the sweet potatoes- just like a normal baked potatoe? Might try that as I have 4 sweet potatoes waiting for me to do something with them!

20 years!! I think that's going to be me!! I'm half way there- I started in Cardiac ITU 10 years ago Tuesday just gone, at the tender age of 23, after having worked my first 2 years qualified on a neurosurgical ward! I could never go back to ward work now! I sometimes think about gettting some GITU experience to broaden my horizons but the one in our hospital isn't a very nice place to work in terms of management- too serious and too many rules! Our unit is nice and relaxed in the right ways but patient care is excellent- I think we have the balance right and I have so many great friends there I don't want to leave so am happy to stick with it! How do you find SW with shift work? I think I've got it sussed now after much trial and error!! Little and often on 12 hour shifts I think is best and trying ones hardest (sometimes with little success) to avoid all the chocs and biscuits on the desk!!! Appreciative patients and relatives will be the death of me lol!!X

I think Mistress Heather had a glass of champers with her posh smoked salmon and eggs this morning and had to go for a lie down he he!!

Haha oooh the cheek of it!! If you must know I was busy saving lives whilst many of you were tucked up in bed!! Back in the land of the living now though and getting ready for the family descending on us tomorrow, that's if the snow stays well away!!X

Hi Meli, I just microwaved the sweet potatoes- I really enjoy them like that and they're so easy! I don't like normal potatoes done in the micro though! What's really nice is cooked whole SP with sweet chilli Philly and roasted vegetables!! Yum yum in my tum!!X

Week 63- Day 3 (Thurs)- Extra Easy- Sleep day/day off.

Early morning in work- Friend Angela's chocolate cheesecake (10 syns). Angela ALWAYS makes cakes to bring into night shifts and I can never resist- I'm usually very good at having just a tiny taste but sometimes it's not so easy to stop!!

At home after waking up- 1.30pm- 2 slices brown Nimble toast (HEXb) with baked beans. An orange and 2 small clementines.

Early evening- 5pm- Chicken and mushroom couscous Mugshot (2 syns, but didn't realise it was synned at the time grwww!!). A raspberry fat free Activia Snackpot. An apple.

Week 63- Day 4 (Fri)- Extra Easy- Day off.

My parents and my brother, S-I-L and 4 littluns are descending on us today for the weekend so it could prove a little tricky foodwise but I'm going to do my very best to stay on track as much as possible!

Plan:-

Brekkie- 2 Chocolate Weetabix (HEXb + 2 syns) with sliced banana and 200ml skimmed milk (4/7 HEXa).

Lunch- 3 egg scramblette with smoked salmon. A peach Activia fat free snackpot (0.5 syns). An apple.

Tea- Turkey meatballs in tomato sauce (from Nigella's Kitchen book) Contains a minimal amount of parmesan and breadcrumbs but making a big vat so will say 2 syns to be on safe side). Served with spaghetti. Fresh pineapple.

To be continued......

Grrrwwww food diary abandoned!! Things went haywire what with the family here and everything!!!
