FUNCURLS FOOD DIARY, BLOG and CHIT CHAT!! New target set!!

Hey hon, how are you feeling with that gain? Did you have a fab time doing it? How was Christmas? Hope you had a good one? Well, in the last 2 weeks, I gained 3 pounds, 1 of those was over Christmas weekend, so I'm happy. Was meant to be starting to shift those pounds today, but I was up all night with D+V, and can't keep anything down. Even had to phone in sick at work, which I NEVER do!! So will get back on track as soon as I can!

Hey chick, sorry to hear you're poorly!! Lots of nasty things going around!! I was looking after someone with swine flu today in work...aaaaarrghhh!!! Ooh well done for the minimal gain!! Very managable in terms of shifting it again!! Mine's a bit more of a challenge! Can't wait to say goodbye to it!! Hope you had a great time and Happy New Year!!!XXXX

I'm sure you will get rid of that easy enough hon!:)

Ooohh, nasty swine flu, hope you are all vacinated against it and don't catch it!

I went down to Occupational Health in my break to get the jab during the shift that I was looking after the oink oink man!! X

They jabbed me over a year ago now, still haven't had the pleasure of the lovely full head gear and what not though. Back to work on Sunday though bank shift on respiratory so you never know...

How's work been over the festive period? Heavy or not to bad? I'm doing 52 hours next week, for my sins lol.

Xxxx

OMG that's a lot of hours!!!! Our unit has been pretty quiet but that's because we mainly look after people who have had elective cardiac or thoracic surgery and they weren't operating at usual speed!! So as usual we were used as the critical care bank and ended up helping general itu which we all hate, especially at Christmas!! They have lots of patients with swine flu over there so I knew it was important to get jabbed!! They recommend that even if you had the jab last year you should have a booster so do consider it! The gear isn't too bad, it's a facemask and a long sleeved blue apron and of course gloves- it's very claustrophobic and it prevents ones ability to breathe, but apart from that it's fine lol!!X

I'm new here but just noticed your starting weight is similar to mine, and you're exactly where I want to be currently! How long did it take you to lose the weight you've lost? You're doing brillliantly!

Your post also reminded me to sort out my flu jab (it's long overdue) but I should really as I'm a student nurse. Naughty, good luck with your weightloss for 2011! :D

Ooh hi WP!! Welcome to SW and MMs!! Wow thanks! It's taken me 14 months- I started on 26th October 2009! Seems like a long time I know- I HAD lost 61.5 lb (4 st 5.5 lb) up until 2 weeks ago but the festive period put pay to that!! Hoping to get that 7.5lb off ASAP!! So anyway, the past 14 months has absolutely flown by and taking that first step is the best thing I've ever done!! It hasn't been an easy journey and I've had lots of ups and downs during it but if I could give 2 bits of advice it would be to 1) see it as a long term thing and not a short term fix- just work through the downs without beating yourself up about it, draw a line under naughtier moments and carry on, and 2) allow yourself breaks but ALWAYS nip it in the bud and get back on track again for example after holidays, Christmas and family occasions! It's what you do over the long term and how you pick yourself up after the bad days/weeks that counts! I really do think that doing it slowly has allowed me to learn good habits and change the way I think about food! OMG I sound so corny!!X

At what stage in your training are you? Are you enjoying it?X

Wow, 14 months is brilliant, thanks for the advice, it really seems that losing the weight is possible after reading your story and reading others experiences of SW, exciting! :)

I'm just beginning 2nd year of my course and absolutely loving it, just find if scary how quickly the course is going!

Happy NYE! :D

Of course it's possible! A lot of people lose it much quicker than I have but it's also fine to just chip away and for me personally that's better because it means I can still have loads of treats and eat quite big portions!X

Good girl! I say every year that I'm gonna get the flu jab done, but don't. Paul and Jason get it done cos of having diabetes and asthma.

Well to be honest hun I'm sure you don't really need to! If you don't suffer with asthma etc you don't fall into a high risk catergory- I only have it because of my job X
