Gaga's Bulging Epic Battle......

I know my bmr is only about 1400 kcals

Thanks Dusty- will be sure to read up and come up with a plan of action....

Lol there are no vits and mins in nutella :) fish and greens for you missy ;)

Would a fillet o fish and mint aero mc flurry count then lol?? (can't stand either so truly am jokin!)

Here's a wee BMR calculator thingy...
Just put in your details, then calculate...
Then you have to go onto the "daily calorie needs" to work out your BMR...
You will probably have to work it out on doing no exercise/sedentary, as you will have to rest post op :)

BMR Calculator

Thanks again Marge xx

So my BMR is 1718 and my daily calorie needs 2068. So based on this are wesaying I should be aiming for 2000 calories per day post op and all should be good to maintain?

What kind of things would be good to eat? Can I go for low GI so perhaps special K for breakfast, pitta and salad for lunch and then protein and veg/ salad for tea as long as within those claories?

Gotta be worth a shot me thinks. So much to darn think about isn't there! Just been reading through some books they gave me today and appears I have to notify my travel insurance people as it affects the policy! Something else to pay out on now!!!!

As for the new car- I have decided sod it I deserve a treat so will go ahead and deal with it accordingly!!!! Need something to make me smile at the end of this week hey!!

Yes definitely hun x

I would think low GI would work well, so long as you don't try and scrimp calories too much as well; it's really just lots of healthier foods. Hopefully that will help your body heal well too. Glad to hear you feeling a bit brighter today, and have fun choosing the car!

:( :( :(

Sorry to hear your terrible news chick :(
Jeezo I'm so crap with words I dunno what to say :( I've been trying to think all day but as soon as I think about ya I cry :(
Don't stress too much about the diet, just try your best to eat healthy but the most important thing is that you get better quick so if it takes a jar or two of nutella so be it ;) and if you need someone with an extra spoon to help, I'm here for ya xx
I know how you must be feeling about your holiday, but just remember that you could've been going 6 stone heavier so how amazing do you look considering?! I know it's still hard tho x

Your an amazing woman gaga and such an amazing support to me, I hope everything works out good.

Love ya chick xxx

Thanks ladies and sorry if I have caused upset with my posts- that's not what I intended- am just being honest and find it so cathartic (get me with big words hey!!) to express it on here!

So today has beena struggle again but for once not diet wise lol! Still haven't slept which when working nights is a major struggle, My eyes even feel sore now which I haven;t had before. Every time I close my eyes panic sets in and disturbing thoughts so I really nee to regin focus and positivity.

Told my boss and a couple of work friends today who were stunned but soooooooo supportive which was lovely. I'm really sad my boss leaves in a couple of weeks as will then have to explain it all to her replacement. I had to decline the job interview too as felt it was just too much this week which is gutting as really wanted it but guess a new job right now just wouldn;t be the best thing. Cat's booked in for leg-off on Friday too then it's new car o'clock on Saturday to cheer me up. Had thought of cancelling the agreement but then thought sod it- I need a treat! te gits in the garage have cocked up ad wnated to withdraw the free servicing plan they offered with it costing £350 so I went mental and said I have enough crap to deal with this week. Have now had an apologetic email and got it thrown in again for free hehehe! No one better mess with me this week hey!

So exante got back to me and said I need to be off diet for 2 weeks pre-op and up to 12 weeks post-op to allow recovery. Divster made a very good comment on my other post about letting the hospital know about my weight loss too which I hadn't thought about because of larger blood vessels. Thanks Divster- will mention it when I go in for sure. So I get the ehole bing out of ketoss for the op thing but do not get being off it for 12 weeks post-op. Have decided to go with my body and my brain and be lead by that.

Really surprised with myself as thought with this news I would have gone straight to the biscuit tin but haven't had anything- not even protein! I actually am worried sick about having to eat!! How stupid is that?? I will wait for my official surgery date letter then plan what to do around that. Am already thinking in my head to do one week of normal healthy eating pre-op then take life, cake, chocolate etc (for medicinal purposes of course!) for the week post-op then regain composure.

Sorry for all my ranting- sometimes good to think out loud. Thanks for all your support- it truly means a lot in these troubling times. Big love xxxxxxxx

I think its much better to come on here and rant and moan, or even be happy if you wish, than keep it all in :)
It is cathartic ;)
We are all like minded, doing a similar diet....
Most people that surround us in real life are not doing this diet, and dont know what we are all thinking or feeling.
Sometime you just need another opinion from someone you know is going through a similar diet experience.... to hear their take on it :)

Its wise to wait until you have your op date, then go from there :).
You definately sound as though you are determined to be healthy through this whole process Gaga.. which I think is wonderful :D

Much love
Marge

Cheers Margie....you guys reall are the best. Everyone I break the nes to is jut saying well come off this bloody diet and get some cake down your neck or booze or lets go out for dinner! Like they are telling me food is the answer.

I know the old-Jo would have done this and would have resorted straight to food but I've been there, done that and certainly have the rolls to prove it.

All I wanted when I started exante was to feel good in my own skin and to be proud of my body when taking hubbie to Jamaica. I know now this isn't going to happen which is heart-breaking for me and makes me even more determined not to un-do all the hard work I have done so far. I know from expereince that as soon as I come off plan I struggle to get back on so if I was to break it now I don't believe I would get back on it until after surgery. Why 2 weeks of eating is recommended I simply don't get. Surely if you are out of ketosis for a few days then this would be enough? Obviously guidelines recommend this so I am not endorsing otherwise.

So I will allow myself some treats post-op as feel I would have deserved them byt then but all will be in moderation. I cannot be a bigger beached whale in Jamaica and must weigh a maximum of 14 something when I get out there- no excuses gaga xxx

I shall become the Jackie Chan of skin cancer.....:asskick:

hehehehehe!

Clearly my night brain has taken a firm grip of me tonight and madness prevails! Time for a bar me thinks as sugars must be low!!!
