Gobolino's Food Diary - converted to ww now!

How frustrating. But sounds like you are in a good place ready for a great 3rd week and fab that you have a plan of attack for this saturday. I LOVE TOBY CARVERY.

PUT the scales in the loft, i am going crazy today not weighing but if i can manage until weigh in at group tomorrow i have managed a full week :) Then i think it will get easier ...i hope.
Sounds like a good size group for a new group took me ages to get that many and mine was a takeover but we are up to 45 now and fingers crossed for 50 tomorrow. Is your consultant a new consultant or just new to your group?

Well done on the not weighing. I've not managed to get to the loft but I have just put the scales out of the way in the spare room!

Fingers crossed for your class reaching 50 tomorrow, thats really good going. I bet you'll get more this week after your leaflet drop. Our class is completely new and I think our consultant is too. Her class is nice, I just wish image therapy was something more than going around to see what people have lost and what they want to lose next week. A WW class I used to go to the consultant used to take her camping gas cooker and demonstrate a recipe for us -I really enjoyed her classes!

Fingers crossed for you tomorrow :)

Week 3 - Wednesday 26th Jan

B- weetabix(HB), milk (HA), banana
D- cottage cheese, large salad and pickles. Prunes 85g (HB)
T- quorn bolognese, wholewheat spaghetti and green beans
snack- I have an orange, grapes and plums with me today

My plan is to stick to between 8 and 10 syns weds, thurs and fri and then that gives me a little to play with on sat/sun, then back to 8 to 10 mon and tues. We'll see how it goes!

sounds like your determined and have a plan . It is bizarre but I actually do better when i have set myself a syn limit because I am saving up for something. Like last week staying below 5 was easy BUT on days when i had not given myself a limit or a reason for a limit it is easy to just have a little of this or a little of that (or a chunk of christmas cake!)

As for your group as you get to know each other better hopefully the going around the group and asking people how they have down will turn into the sharing of ideas with a bit of prompting from the consultant. I try and get fav meals, new food, recipes found etc from my members but I am finding it hard with the new people. Last week i gave out 3 packs of scan bran and some recipes and asked for volunterrs to try a scan bran recipe which we will taste tonight. Also next week we are having a whole group taster. It is a balance between keeping it interesting and following SW guide lines :)

I see where you're coming from with sticking within sw guidelines, it must be a little frustrating if you have good ideas of things to do in class!

Here's what I really had today:
B- weetabix(HB), milk (HA), banana

D- cottage cheese, large salad and pickles. Prunes 85g (HB), 2 packs of M&S sushi snack selection (1syn)

T- quorn bolognese, wholewheat spaghetti and green beans. Later on I had 28g cheese (HA) with 3 small aldi digestives (9syns)

snack- plums, a lentil pakora (that a lovely lady in work made! Online a mini veg pakora is 2syns and an average one is 4.5syns. The homemade one I had was quite small so I'm saying 3syns)

Today has gone ok, not brilliant but I'm doing what I can. I have confessed to my consultant earlier that I had 6 (yes 6!) Hifi bars last night when I came home..... I asked her advice and she recommended taking the 36syns from this weeks weekly total. So thats what I'm doing! I'll work out what I have later and decide what to spend for the next few days.

105-36=69

69-(wed 13syns)=56syns for the rest of the week - oh dear!

With 60syns the week will look like this, so I'm going to save where I can (to try to hit the 56), but will aim for the following:

thurs 6
fri 12
sat 18
sun 12
mon 6
tues 6

Hmm you have a tough week ahead and I would worry that that kind of restriction will have you go crazy and go off plan so take that into consideration. Do make sure you are eating lots of free food you love.So you don't feel deprived.

Stay strong and do the best you can.

Teresa

Thanks Teresa, I know what you mean restriction is never good (especially for me)! I'm bearing it in mind and to be honest if I dont hit 6syns and I end up having 15 thats sooooooo much better than going over 6 and thinking I've blown it. I'll take each day as it comes and try my best.

Thursday (green):

B-yog, blueberries, raspberries, grapes,
snack- banana, scan bran (1syn)

D-salad leaves, tom, cucumber, cottage cheese and a jacket potato

snack-apple, blueberries, milk in tea (HA)

T-Leeky mash (mashed potatoes with plenty of leeks, herbs, 40g smoked salmon (3syns)) with 28g cheese on top (HA), green beans, sugar snap peas

snack- 80g prunes (HB), 2 small digestives (6syns), 28g cheese (HB)

10syns total :)

Why don't you follow green days and only have 1 HexB per day to make up for all the extras? Then you can still have your syns so won't go crackers depriving yourself... and you can always use your syns for a second HExB if you want to :)

Ha ha - dont get too excited, leeky mash is just lazy mans homity pie !

I suggested losing a HB each day to my consultant and she wasnt fond of that idea. I also suggested forgetting all about it and starting this week afresh, but she suggested just to take the syns of this weeks total instead.

So, just a reminder for me:
post weigh in treat (36syns), weds 13syns, thurs 6, fri 12, sat 18, sun 12, mon 6, tues 6

So far thursday: 1 scan bran (1syn), 40g smoked salmon (3syns), 2 small digestives (6syns)

Oh I bet you'd enjoy Homity Pie. I think it was in the sw magazine around September time, but also someone has written it out on here, I think there was a thread in the recipe section. Its highly recommended :)

Meanwhile, I jazzed up my leeky mash and it was beautiful! Made enough for two servings. I boiled then mashed potatoes with some skimmed milk (from HA choice) and quark, salt and pepper. Then stirred in 2 chopped leeks that I'd 'fried' with frylight, fresh thyme, dried mixed herbs and 80g of smoked salmon trimmings (5.7syns). I put this into a small oven proof dish and added 28g (HA) cheese per serving. Popped under the grill and it was lovely.

I've started taking pictures of my main meals this week so encourage me to make more effort, so I'll post a picture at some point!

Syns so far this week: post weigh in treat 36syns, weds 13syns, thurs 10syns = 59syns.

Syns remaining = 46syns.
How to spend these ? fri 10, sat 16, sun 10, mon 5, tues 5

Tomorrows food plan:
B- fruity couscous with rapsberries, strawberries and apple
D- leeky mash with cheese (HA), green beans, sugar snaps, pickled onions, gherkins
T- sake and wasabi prawns (HB) with herbs and spring onions and jasmine rice. Will put some syn values to this later.
snacks- clementines, banana,

Apart from tea, I dont have any syns planned but family are coming for tea so they may bring something. I'll save syns for the evening just in case.

For tea, per person it'll be 2 tablespoons sake (2 syns), 1/2 tablespoon wasabi (1 syns), tsp garlic oil (2syns), prawns (HB), plus veggies to go with it, so not too bad :)

Currently we have lots of M&S goodies in work. Some are not suitable for veggies, but some are....... the extremely chocolatey chocolate mini-bits (like a mini-roll) are there. I think they are 5syns, but really would be a one bite wonder! I'm not bothering :) I surprise myself how I can be very restrained in work, I just get it in my head that I wont eat any and before long they are all eaten by others and I dont need to think about it anymore. Saving syns for my evening meal..... much more enjoyable!

Go YOU !!! ignore all those M and S things, i can sometimes be saintly around other people, at work though it is just me and the kids or just me ... not so easy to be saintly but I have stopped baking with the kids for a while, they don't need homemade cakes etc every week .

Teresa

Well I did resist :) And as predicted in a few hours they were all gone anyway - he he!

Today has gone well, I enjoyed my meal with family (more to come this weekend!) and did well on the syn front. Not to my little plan of fewer syns, but I'm not beating myself up over it. Will go and edit my menu and add in the syns. Have a good weekend all x
