Now the challenge begins..... tomorrow we are going to a house warming party and will be having wine and food. Well I say having food I have no idea what will be there so will have my evening meal before we go! Sunday we are going to our neighbours for a cheese and wine night, so will be spending all healthy extras on cheese I think. So, meals I am in control of will need to be little or no syns :)

Sat: green
B- egg, beans, tomato
D- stalk and stilton soup (HA+2syns) and then possibly a rice salad or something else
T- wedges and salad with quark and garlic dip
snacks ???

Sunday: green
B- egg, beans and tomato
D- ???
T- cheese ( HA HA HB HB), hopefully veggie nibbles, wine (2 glasses 12 syns ??)

Well the party last night was great. I cooked a guinness chocolate cake to take and at 22 syns per slice that would have been a big dent in the syns. But the people we took it for, didnt actually take it out of the box!!!! The baker in me was offended but the SW-er in me was very pleased - ha ha! I'm hoping they at least send a text today to say it was yummy :)

So yesterday:
B-beans, egg, toast (HB), banana, strawberries
D-stalk and stilton soup (HA+2syns), slither of cake crumb from the top of cake (syns ?? will say 3)
T-red lentil and chickpea soup, Hi Fi (HB)
snacks- 4 glasses of red wine (24syns), couple of spoonfuls of veg curry (drained of juices), rice, 2 slices of garlic bread (the small baguette slices, will estimate 5syns)
snack when we got home- red lentil soup, quite alot of it!

Syns 34
Walking-20mins with the dog, 30mins to the train station and part way to the party, 15mins from train station.

Hope yesterday went to plan. Also hope you got a text from the the people you made the cake for, I keep thinking about it and as a baker I also would be most offended.

good luck with weigh in and 'see you' next weekend.

Teresa

Thanks Teresa, Sunday did go well, I managed to save 3 lots of healthy extras to spend on cheese and then the rest was counted as syns. So, I'd only spend 25 between weds-fri, then by the end of sat/sun I was at 107 total syns. Monday I had no syns and then yesterday was really grumpy with it all - I gained 3.5lb. Did ok on the exercise front too, I spend about 1 hour walking on monday and an hour and a half on tuesday.

Anyway, I'm sorry I missed you before you went away. Hope you had a lovely time :)

Wednesday - wk 21
B-28g oats +1 scan bran (HB), berries, yog, banana, 1 scan bran (1syn)
D-quorn bolognese packed with veggies (carrot, onion, celery), jacket potato, cucumber. Strawberries, 2 apricots, HiFi (HB)
snacks- apple, milk in tea (HA),
T- butter bean, barley, BNS and carrot hot pot perhaps with brown rice.

exercise- debating whether to try a walk/run ??? After an injury with my knee last year I should go on the treadmill but I just feel like going outside. I should be ok as long as I dont do hills. I'm debating whether to keep my leisure centre membership paid for a whole year or just pay as I go when my membership finishes.

Not feeling great at the minute, I seem to be a complete yo yo :(

You may be disappointed with this week's result in which case don't be too disheartened, your Consultant is there to help you overcome whatever the problem is. Or it may be you're OK because you're aware of what's happening. I know it can be difficult, but either way, try to remember that there really is no shame in a gain or a maintain.

I hate seeing this all the time, I wish they had a few different ideas etc when you've had a gain. Its the same message each time online!

Thursday 2nd June
B-28g oats+ 2scan bran (HB+1syn), yog, berries, apple
Snacks- 350ml skimmed milk in tea (HA), apple, banana, melon
D-hot pot butterbeans, BNS, carrot and pearl barley, strawberries
Snacks- egg on scan bran (1 syn)
T-aubergine bake (2x 57g light mozzarella (HA HB))

Oh poor Gobolino! That's such an unfair WI after all your strategising and having done so well at your social events  I totally agree that the very vague advice about not being disheartened is crap and doesn't hit the spot when you're feeling so low. In fact, it's better not to read it at all than to be faced with something so ineffectual, it would just p*ss me off tbh.

Has your consultant offered you any more useful advice? To gain 3.5lbs is obviously one of those weird body fluctuations which is unexplainable as there is surely no way you have eaten enough to gain.

I really don't know what to suggest ... is it worth trying a fishy week? I saw that you ate fish and have heard people on here rave about their success when they try it. I know it's a bit out of your comfort zone, but maybe that would be a good thing? I guess you just need to hang in there. I always hear that you will be rewarded if you just stick with it, but that must sound very hollow to you right now.

Chin up hun, you usually sound so chipper and I'm worried that your teeny writing in your last post is indicative of how down you are at the mo:hug99: . What are your thoughts on the week ahead? Are you going to be able to stick with it and put it behind you? Sorry I'm not able to say anything particularly useful, but you're not alone - I was down last week, you see it on here all the time. The SW journey is full of ups and downs, I guess the trick is to make sure that the downs don't take over because that won't make you happy in the long run. Take care you x

Hi Beegee,

Thank you so much for your message, I am back to my chirpy self now :) I had a message from my consultant too to say that I really didnt have that much to lose and as such I should be sticking to 10syns a day, she also said I shouldnt label myself as a yoyo.... plenty of people have given up and that I am still going and have the guts to ask for help. That made me feel alot better too. I am coming to terms with the fact that I have a 10syn limit !!

I managed well yesterday and had 9 syns in total (6 for a hifi, 1 for a scan bran and 2 for a hot choc). Tuesday I had one syn during the day for a scan bran and then the rest were spent on a stuffed butternut in a restaurant.... it was served with salad and the mozzarella on top was counted as my healthy A.

All in all I'm feeling alot better now. I do just need to plod on :) But I'm very happy to do that!

Here's today:
B-2 boiled eggs, baked beans and a tomato
D-hot pot (butterbeans, BNS, carrot and pearl barley) topped with potato mashed with quark and spring onions. Strawberries and a diet coke (treat :) )
T-cheese and crackers with salad. I seem to have been really busy in the kitchen, cooking meals all the time so I wanted something easy for us to enjoy in the garden tonight. Cheese will be weighed (2 HA, 1HB choice) and crackers will be ryvita wholegrain crackerbread (6=HB). It takes alot of planning to make the rest of the day free foods but so far so good :)
snacks- no tea (as I'm saving my HA for cheese tonight), banana, melon, raspberries

((Here's to a good weekend ))

Tea was actually 28g cheddar, 28g stilton and 42g camembert with 2scan bran and 3 ryvita wholegrain crackerbread (HA HA HB HB). Oh yum ! This was followed by raspberry chocolate pots and a chocolate teacup (all in for a good 8.5syns).... this is a ww recipe made with dark chocolate, the chocolate teacup is 6g, very cute and just 1.5syns.

Time for a syns review:
Weds 10syns, Thurs 9syns, Fri 8.5syns

Nearly half way through the week and I'm managing my new 10syn limit - woo hoo :)

Ah you sound much more like your usual self now. Thank goodness! Good idea to go for 10 syns max, lets hope you get a result next week. Well done on getting straight back to it. You sound a bit like me, have a moody about the injustice of it all then get back in the saddle. What other choice is there. Good for you hun and best of luck for the weekend x

Thanks ! Its almost like we stamp our feet realise that doing that isnt going to get us anywhere fast and then just get on with it ;) (well thats me anyway).

Here's today:
B-strawberries and a few raspberries with yog, eggs on toast (HB)
snack-banana
D-quorn sausages, baby rosemary roasted new potatoes (fry light) and big salad (leaves, cucumber, spring onions and pepper)
snack-HiFi (HB), cup of tea (part HA), small bowl of lentil+veg soup (speedy speedy)
T-wholewheat pasta, h/m pasta sauce with parmesan (28g HA) and leafy salad
pud 1- pineapple
pud 2- hot chocolate made with 200ml of 1% milk (HA), 40g belgian chocolate, 1 pear and 1/2 a piece of crystalised ginger (could very well just go over 10syns for this, but it looks like it could be a nice recipe to try).

Exercise- 1 hours walk

Oh how frustrating for you. Well done on sticking to your new 10 syn limit. I hope it works, you may find that one HEA is enough (on red or green you can have one or two but sometimes cutting back to 1 is helpful to give you a boost)

Fingers crossed for a nice big loss this week and your consultant is right how many members have you seen give up since you started in january? You are still going!

Hi Teresa - nice to 'see' you back, hope you had a lovely time :) I had indeed seen alot of people give up, so I'm pleased with myself for keeping going! Oh one step at a time with scaling down the healthy extras though - he he.

Today has gone well.
B-beans, egg, potatoes, pear, hifi (HB)
snack- vlf fromage frais, hot choc 2syns), milk in tea (HA), banana
D-lentil soup, large salad (leaves, cu, tom, sweetcorn), 2 filo feta parcels (made by hubby with butter but made my ones with fry light and they were still yummy) (6 syns for filo, HA for feta)
pud- vlf fromage frais, hot choc (2syns), quark, hifi (HB) - all made up as a cheesecake :)
T- melon followed by BNS, carrot, barley and butterbean hot pot.
pud- 1 low syn chocolate cake muffin (2syns)

total 12syns, 30mins walk

Total 51 for 5 days :) Come on, just 2 more days to weigh in, I cant wait to see if my 10 syns a day limit (roughly!) is going to give a great weight loss. I have to say though 10 syns a day does make me seem more balanced, which is great :)
