GREEN DAYS ONLY - systemas diary

ho wnice to get tofu that is not soaked - you dont need to drain that and get the water out - I press mine over night I fold teatowels put in a colander and then put a plate on the weights - then I slice it the next morning and again leave it on teatowels to draw out more water - that way it can take on lots of flavours

well its quorn for dinner for me tonight - something you most likely cant get where you are - unless you want to pay a fortune for it

nearly dinner time here and I am having a roast dinner but with a quorn peppered steak - according to DH tastes nothing like a decent steak - me its so long since I had a steak I cant remember :)

That dry tofu is very nice - you can just break bits off and eat it, it does have some taste.
Sorry but I would not eat quorn if they gave it me free with a gold clock. I did eat it once and it made me ill, terrible stomach pains and other side effects  Being not quite sure if it was quorn I did eat it once again and had exactly the same and I have not eaten it since. Looked it up on the net and other people have had the same reaction to it. I bought R. Conley FAB diet book for my Kindle and sent it back as she is obsessed with it for veggies.

Yes I am glad I can eat quorn - I am lucky not to have a reaction to it but I dont eat it often its nice for a change
today I am having ricotta torelloni and ordinary dried pasta with mushrooms and spinach in pasta back -honestly its so cold here it is still comfort food weather :):)

typical of son wanting the laptop - when I go away I dont take mine and I also wont use my mobile phone for the net - its lovely to not use it at times. I do of course use the phone but only to keep in touch with my daughter sometimes I dont even answer it just send off a text to say I am away :):)

so today the sun is shining (its not warm) but at least the sun is shining :):)

I find that QUorn gives me gut rot too, hvent had it fr ages, must give tofu another try, only had it once years ago and found it a bit tasteless but that was cooked for me, maybe I could give it some flavour if doing it myself-cn for for example make curry or stir fry with it ?

Just been watching Paul Hollywood's Bread series and could eat everything he has made. Was going to order the book from Amazon until I read the reviews - not that many bread recipes in it, alot of the recipes are the accompanying food to the bread and not veggie stuff so would be a waste of money. Just had a look on BBC website and most of the recipes are on there anyway
Don't know if it is our TV but he does look like he has been left in the oven as long as the bread, very very tanned. :)

You can buy them on line - will have a look later and post back.

good morning (yes late for me)
hope you are doing well - the peppered tofu will be on my list - I have tofu and I have pepper so guess that will be made before the weekend - I am thinking if baked it would also be good cold for a picnic - thinking of doing one for the weekend but it looks like it wont now be warming up till next week - so it might have to wait until nex weekend

I have a good bread book will find the title after my LS walking and report back to you it has recipes for different areas so some niche breads which I love

Hey

Had a look for panch poran in the specialty section in sainsburys but no joy :(
I looked at your pintrest link, the food looks so good on it! I like the look of the cauliflower steaks and vegan albondigas

You will have to have people looking out for it for you :) Found one site Curry Recipes, Curry recipe, Indian restaurant style curry recipes which said it delivered free to Northern Ireland but when I looked at the price they are charging - it is normally around and about £1 for 100gms and on there it is £2.50 !!!!
Those cauliflower steaks are brilliant - I made them a couple of weeks ago but as we don't have an oven had to improvise a bit and boiled it lightly and then put a little oil in a pan with some fennel seeds and cooked it over a high flame until it browned. It was lovely. For the albondigas I am going to use the frozen veggie meatballs from Asda which I like.
