You guys make me chuckle with your talk of smear tests, I'm lucky that the nurse I see is so good it takes about a minute if that and then we chat! Good news is if this ones clear I might go back to regular screening yippee x

Hey hun, hope you had a lovely holiday, will check your diary when I can.

Have got the first available date to see a Dr so it's next Monday, don't want tramadol, want to discuss options, want something I can take just when it's really bad rather than something I take everyday, sounds weird but don't want to rely on tablets even though it hurts everyday x

I know I popped on yesterday but didn't write what's been going on last few days, I've been physically drained with what's been going on at work so just been getting home and chilling and not coming on here.

We've got some new people at work and let's just say they're not very conscientious, on Monday I was editing, the work on that desk is pretty full on at the best of times but I had a shadow and was showing her what to do so had asked a colleague (only been there a few months but quite an attitude) if she wouldn't mind watching my printers so we could get on with the work. She was a relief person so basically sit there until people want a break and then cover their work so they can go.

Now the printers are virtual as we used to get paper spewing out all the time so basically you watch them and just print out something if you need a hard copy if not you just action and delete. You have to keep on top of them though as there's so much stuff coming through.

I'd asked her to watch them at 8am and at about 1pm I had a look at them and there was 250+ on one printer and just under 250 on the other! 500 things that hadn't been actioned! I couldn't understand why as she said she was looking at them so I was really confused as if she'd been looking why were they still on the printer?! Then she admitted that she hadn't been looking, I didn't have a go at her all I said was if she didn't have time she should have told me so I could have done them (I wouldn't mind but at one point I'd seen her reading a magazine! Hardly busy!), I then started printing them out and said out loud that I'd have to hand them around the office and get everyone to do some as there's no way I could get 250 aircraft changes done, I asked if she could do some and she said she was eating her lunch! Now if I'd realised I'd cocked up I would have put my lunch to one side and got on with the work being really apologetic..

I was feeling fuming inside but didn't say anything, however she then turned her back and started talking quietly to some one and said "there's someone in here I wanna punch" and I heard her! I still didn't say anything but was so cross and then the Duty Manager who was sat opposite me asked what was going on as there was mounds of paper work, I just said they hadn't been looked at for 5 hours she was really annoyed and then I muttered about her threatening to punch me thinking it was pathetic, but the DM took her out the room and had a word with her.. Not what I wanted as hate confrontation!

The girl burst out crying and went to the toilets. I asked the DM what had happened and whether I could go after her as the last thing I want is bad feeling in the office. I found her and said we needed to talk, at first she was upset as she said she hadn't said it and then she said she was upset as she couldn't believe someone had grassed her up and she couldn't trust anyone in there! Make up your mind, you either said it or not? Why would you worry about someone grassing you up if you hadn't said it?!

I said no one had told me as I'd heard her but she said I must have misheard, I think she was upset really as she'd been caught out!

We had a chat and I just said that I care about my work and was upset that she hadn't done what she said she would even when I asked if she was still checking them she said she was. We got it out in the open so hope everything will be okay now but I think deep down it affected me more than I thought.

Anyway enough of my ramblings! On a happier note we've booked a holiday for November to St Lucia to use my free ticket, so excited. I am worried about All Inclusive though as I have no self control. Look at how much I put on in Turkey and I still haven't lost it.

I've asked Mark to keep me in check but he said "but we'll be on holiday, relax!", what I'm hoping though that being Caribbean there'll be lots of fish and salads that I can opt for I've jut got to be careful with drinks though as they had no diet drinks in Turkey so I was drinking full fat coke and fizzy orange. My friend whose just got back though said the food was amazing and they ate all day!

I really feel we need a holiday though, catch up on sleep and have some quality time together.

Today's plans were to clean the house but weather looks quite nice so might do some gardening to get it prepared for winter as looks like loads of weeds at the moment! X

I totally get you on that colleague front, I hate confrontations too, but sometimes it has to be done, and it sounds to me like she was more upset at being caught out than by anything else... I would if I were you keep your dealings with her to a minimum as I think she might be the more faces than the town hall clock sort of worker... It does drain you working with people like that, but you have to remember that ultimately its their problem and they are the ones who are putting themselves at risk with their job by being so slapdash... Concentrate on the fab holiday booked, and don't worry about the food until you get there... You will be fine for diet drinks out there as I went (many years back) to the Bahamas and they had diet pop, but to be honest all you want is water as its so hot... There are plenty of good choices, but as Mark says you are on holiday... Have the break you deserve it... Work hard at your eating before you go and it might encourage you to choose better, but if not it isn't the end of the world... I hope things improve at work, as I know what its like... Hope wi goes ok if your going... Have a better day today... Hugs... Chelle...xx

What an awful work day! She's lucky she didn't get suspended - if you think about it she mentioned punching a colleague !!!

You managed really well x

Yay for the holiday - there's always sparkling water ;)

She needs the punch, if you ask me. What is she there for? Sorry but I think you were right. I'd have said a lot more to her and have done it publicly as well. Probably the wrong thing but she would have got the message. Must remeber I'm a civvie now I can't just lay down the law? LOL

I'm sure they will have diet drinks when you go on holiday, remember, loads of americans go to that area as well, they're always wanting lite this and that?

Thanks guys, Chelle you're so right about the difference faces, she reckons she's a gangster and has a "gang" then text me later saying she might come across tough but really she's not!

As for losing her job Lisa, the manager was so annoyed at her threatening to punch me even though I knew it was just talk she said as she's only on secondement she better me careful.. Oops!

Steve I would love to have confronted her outright but I like to keep the peace at work and hate bad feeling in an office environment as you can't avoid someone.

On Tuesday we just smiled at each other but didn't talk but yesterday she had to ask my advice.. Bet that took some guts lol!

As for drinks sparkling water sounds good, I always forget about that when I'm away and now I don't drink coke I struggle even more working out what to have, I plan on trying to keep control before I go, I'm out tomorrow night and Saturday but need to try to eat mindfully rather than stupidly.

Thanks everyone xx

Sparkling water with a wedge of lime is a good one in this country as well.

I have it if I'm driving. Make sure it's a wedge of lime though, you can squeeze it into the drink. Oh and it's normally free! :D (They charge if you have the lime cordial)

I'm not tight, just thrifty at times.
