Helen's quest for good health!

Here's to Day 3 100%.. I can do it! So in the last few days I have resisted chocolate, gorgeous looking cheesecake and fruit cake.. What can be offered to me and left by my desk today?!

Going out for dinner for my mates birthday tomorrow and already wondering what I'm going to have as want to stay on plan for as long as I can, I'm going to offer to drive and stick to soda but will have to try and scrutanise (sp?) the menu and try and find something on plan x

Not sure if the above link works but that's a menu from the restaurant, it may well be different but if its not what would you choose?! X

Wow, that menu looks lovely. I would go for the Terrine of braised Chicken Leg to start and then for mains I would have the sea bass with crab chowder! - I am not a desserty person, but if pushed (and being really naughty) it would be the cheese board! What are you thinking??

Thanks for having a look, it does look good doesn't it, I thought of the terrine but never had it before, isn't it quite jelly like or am I imagining that?! Was thinking maybe salmon or scallops and for main I would want the chicken in cream sauce but I won't be having that! So perhaps the fish like you said or perhaps the stew might be okay.

As for dessert hopefully I'll be able to resist! If I try to plan a day with no HE's and no syns (if I can rack my brains about what I'll have!) then perhaps I might be able to tweak and have the cheeseboard as you don't usually get loads or maybe share with Mark (not that he'll want to share and he does have a sweet tooth!) x

I'd have the Scallops to start followed by the Sea Bass

that's quite an impressive menu ...sounds well yummy Helen
Where is The Dinton Hermit ? Haha

Personally I wouldn't be able to choose, what a great menu... There is only one really good restaurant in Burton The Winery which used to be the Abbey, beautiful building, but out of our price range atm... Charlie has paid for us to go a couple of times he has been here... I hope it is a lovely night for you Helen, let me know what you have... xx

Just a quicky as got home from work and need sleep!

Thanks for all your replies on menu for tomorrow, we all sound like we'd go for the same things! Sea bass sounds great but guessing the chowder might be creamy but if staying syn free all day should be fine.

Talking about syn free.. I've managed one today! But does that mean its not 100% as supposed to have between 5-15? When I said I'd managed it, it wasn't intentional but felt full, didn't even want the pineapple I'd cut up and only had the crispbread to get my HEB as didn't need it.

Thursday 18th October (L1) - Green

Breakfast: mushrooms on toast (HEB) with worstershire sauce

Lunch: jacket potato, 45g rf cheddar (HEA), beans

Dinner: bns risotto (HEA), salad

Snacks: Dr Kraag crispbread (HEB)

Drinks: black coffee, squash, water

Total syns: 0.0!!

Helen, I wouldn't worry about not using your Syns, yes of course they are there for a reason, but I have learned that it is more important not to eat for the sake of it, if you want the Syns use them, but if you don't need them leave them... There are always days when we perhaps go over so I think it balances out... The big thing I am learning atm is to eat only what I need to rather than thinking, oh I have so many Syns or hexb/a left... Just pat yourself on the back for doing a 100% day... xx

Morning Helen ....

Like Chelle said ..... It's more important that you haven't ate for the sake of eating
I do feel sometimes some of the rules on SW are silly ( not all, I'm not knocking it )
just some lol I'm waffling

I agree. Both healthy extras and syns are allowances - so have them/don't have them. They are available to have :)

I'd still ask if they'll grill the Seabass? My aunt always asks and the chefs are usually happy to oblige :)

Thanks girls so that was Day 3 of 100% yippee x

The solicitor sent me a report from consultant at Harley Street, it's really informative and interesting to read however the bit where it says Mrs Pearce is significantly overweight wasn't great lol! Normally that would send me spiralling into a eating frenzy this time it's not, I'm going to laugh about it and just carry on with what I'm doing.

I'm on Leave today, tried to cancel it earlier in the week but the DM on duty at the time said no (think he couldn't be bothered to email employee services!) however yesterday they were trying to talk me into cancelling it as they are so short today.. Go figure?! It might seem like I'm cutting my nose off to spite my face but I'd psyched myself into having the day off by last night and hadn't prepared my breakfast, lunch or clothes for today so said no and now I've been getting texts all morning begging for people to go in.. Oops!

So today is going to be spent getting some more Christmas shopping as want it all done ASAP, we went to Milton Keynes last week but today is online shopping day for me so haven't even got out of my PJ's yet! X

Well done saying no to work. That'll teach em not to faff!!!!!!

Also well done not spiralling - just laugh as its all changing anyway x

Well so much for my idea of staying on plan and being super organised picking what I was going to have..

My super disorganised mate whose birthday it is forgot to book Dinton Hermit so her boyfriend booked The Angel, quite expensive but said it was her birthday present as she didn't know what she wanted so it was all on him and they wanted us all to have a few drinks and enjoy ourselves!

My arm was easily twisted, had a glass of prosecco before we left, had 1/2 bottle of white wine with dinner, a brandy Alexander martini afterwards followed by a whiskey and ginger so so much for not drinking!

For starters the four of us shared a seafood platter and a meat platter for 2 so had a little bit of everything.. Prawn, scallop, salmon, Parma ham, pate, chorizo, a couple of other bits but can't remember what but there was only a tiny bit of each but it was lovely.

For main I thought I'd be good (even though was tempted by the other dishes!), had a trio of tiger prawn, salmon and grey mullet with cherry tomatoes and sugar snap peas and a ginger glaze, very nice.

Then couldn't resist dessert! Sticky toffee pudding with vanilla bean icecream.

You choose your meal in the lounge area before being seated and when we came out despite it being really late we saw a guy with a girl in the lounge who my friend thinks was Gethin Jones (who lol?!) but he was really nice!

So although I was naughty last night I hadn't had any syns during the day and I'm straight back on it today which is a miracle in itself! Just got to stay on the straight and narrow all day now x

Oh yes Lisa my super disorganised friend hasn't even booked a hotel for Southend tonight!! She says I'm too organised but if things aren't sorted I fret so perhaps I'm the one with the problem! Lol

Perhaps our idea of all going away next year isn't a good one! X
