Helen's quest for good health!

In agony with back today, it's ok saying I'm going to be getting up and walking around but in an operational environment I can only get up when it goes quiet, the drive is killing me too, it's only an hour but I'm in pain trying to get out the car afterwards! Wish exercises would start to take effect.

Made a SW quiche yesterday, it looked absolutely disgusting before it was cooked, I don't like egg or cottage cheese so verdict is out on whether I can stomach it!

Also surprised myself by having porridge.. Hadn't ever had it until a couple of months ago as don't like milk but magic porridge was not bad and upped my options on what I can have for breakfast (never used to eat it), today I tried it with the kara coconut milk.. It was ok! Wouldn't rave about it and had to drizzle some honey on as if tasted bland to me where as magic porridge is quite sweet but my Mum will be proud when I tell her lol!

For those people in the know.. HEB.. You're supposed to have 1 scanbran with porridge, I don't have any, would you substitute it for a ryvita or have nothing?

Sunday 2nd October (Late shift)

Breakfast:
28g Tesco fruit & nut porridge (HEB), 200ml kara coconut milk (1/2 HEA)
Drizzle honey (1.0)

Lunch: salad, SW quiche (1.0), 1 tbsp italian balsamic dressing (0.5)

Dinner: chilli (1.0), rice, 21g reduced fat cheddar (1/2 HEA)

Snacks: banana, apple, grapes, strawberries, raspberries, twirl (11.5)

Total syns: 15.0

Was craving chocolate so looked in the vending machine to see what there was and then checked all the syn values to work out what was best, had the twirl and savoured every moment.

Thanks you too, isn't it hot making the soaps in this weather? Do you have a website or just sell to friends when you say you have some orders? X
I sell to friends they usually pop orders on my facebook page and I do a stall at Whitby Goth Weekend... As Tesco says every little helps... It is warm work but it relaxes me, working with essentail oils is good for keeping my depression under control... My "workroom" is my oasis of calm, I plug my ipod in, listen to fave tunes, have a coffee maker in there and a nice view over the river...

Re porridge... Have you tried making the way I do? Hot water over the oats, stir well then add yogurt, usually plain with some soft fruit... Nom...

Yes you are supposed to have a scan bran but personally I wouldn't worry if you don't. Don't use ryvita though as they syn higher than scan bran x

I won't have anything else, should buy some scanbran but don't know what I'd do with it! I can imagine it being really dry.

That sounds really relaxing, I've never actually made handmade soap but the smell walking past Lush is so intense it puts me off even though I'm sure I'd love the products I've never been in the shop.

I've not tried that, that sounds similar to magic porridge, might have to give that a go x

We've tried the cakes - my fave is the ginger one. And I've hidden them at the bottom if my hit Weetabix or porridge as the disintegrate so you hardly notice them! My hubby on the other hand takes cheese triangle and marmite sandwiches of scan bran to work!

I don't often have take away these days but when I have done I tend to do it as a flexi day, if you look in the eating out section I'm sure there's lots of threads about Chinese syn values there.

Enjoy!

Hey you two, looks like we're all on here at the same time, I've just posted on your threads!

My Mum came over yesterday, had a lovely day but didn't have time to come on here and be nosy on your threads so hope you both had good days.

Backs been really bad then yesterday when walking it seemed to go "twang" and then eased up a little, got physio this morning so see what happens there.

Was quite pleased with my lunch choice yesterday whilst we were out because it would have been too tempting to go over my syns and have something very naughty but we were both good and then we went to M&S to get Mark & Mum a dessert for the evening, the one I really wanted that they both got I thought I'd use the 1syn/20cal guide as a rough estimate.. 34.5 syns!! Glad I did that quick estimate before buying it.

Monday 3rd October (OFF)

Breakfast: SW quiche (1.0), baked beans

Lunch: jacket potato, cheese (HEA) & beans, salad

Dinner: piri piri chicken, chorizo potatoes (HEB & 9.0), roasted red onion & tomatoes, watercress, 1tbsp el mayo (0.5)
Chocolate moose (4.0)

Total syns: 14.5

Mark kindly cooked the dinner but put in a lot more chorizo than I would have done hence 9.0. Syns!!

Really achy after my physio, I didn't realise they did so much, she massaged me and attached me to a machine similar to TENS, need to go back to Dr's for stronger painkillers as well. Musn't sit down for too long so going to take the next few days off and go back on Saturday, that gives me a chance to see Doctor and also physio again on Friday.

Lunch: baked beans, SW quiche (1.0)

Dinner: potato wedges, beans, 21g reduced fat cheddar (1/2 HEA)

Snacks: 3x ryvita sweet chilli thins (4.5), 25g sweet chilli philadelphia (2.0)
Apple
Options hot chocolate (2.0) with 200ml kara coconut milk (1/2 HEA)

Total syns: 12.0
