Helen's quest for good health!

Evening all, time flies and you don't realise how long it's been since coming on, seems like it was this morning but it was yesterday before work.

Still mad at work, people are going to unions now about the way it was all handled, one guy has been told he might get the sack! Really not good!

To top it off I was asked to act up as Duty Manager today, didn't want to but didn't have a choice as was told I'd been handpicked and they all had to go to a meeting, I was so nervous and every time the phone rang my heart was in my mouth but it was not as bad as I thought!

Also I'm taking part in a squat challenge in February, having done very little exercise I'm taking my physio seriously as the consultant says he can really tell the difference also with osteoporosis you're supposed to do weight bearing exercise which I think squats are!

Today's exercise: 50 squats, 10 mins Swiss ball work

Don't envy the squats! I'll stick to 30 min runs! Lol

well done with the exercise
I will be off for a walk (after the phone call I am waiting for)

your food choices look lovely - I have pork in the freezer and cider in the larder - think I will make that for DH for his dinner
off to the kitchen:)

The joys of working at the airport huh! Helen
I dont know about your company but ours is a case
of too many cheifs and not enough Indians
were having some major problems at the mo
we use to have the majority of the airside contracts
until the nobber at the top screwed it all up
incidently the nobber was escorted off the premises just recently
talk of money going missing, back handers etc etc

I can't multi quote so thanks for all the messages, still doing my squats and Swiss ball work.

Got weighed a day early and lost 1lb, should have been really pleased with that but as I'd been so good I wasn't which is stupid really so went to Tesco and went mad, I pigged out on 4 cookies and pick n mix, way over syns.

I drew a line under it, went out to lunch yesterday, had chicken and salad, felt pleased with myself until hours later getting the train home I grabbed a bag of cashews and then got home and had Freddo bars!

What's wrong with me?! My tummy obviously doesn't appreciate the crap its had poured into it as been in pain overnight and keep running to the loo!

I've got to be back on it today, it's ridiculous.

I've got a CDWM dinner party tomorrow night, it isn't going to be on plan, I had no idea what to cook and it's been doing my head in, was going to cook all SW friendly but the desserts are easy to make so I know I can do them tonight and some SW recipes are hit and miss.

I know it's not sw friendly but what does this sound like? :

Seared scallops and black pudding on a bed of minted pea puree

Braised lamb shanks with crushed herb new potatoes (or mash) served with green beans

Salted caramel chocolate pots

....

I'm looking forward to it but need to get my arse in gear, get shopping, clean the house, at least it's tidy apart from the little room which won't take long and then sort out music on ipod, goody bags I'm making, make the food... Ahh lol!

Morning hun x

Now do you want me to start stalking you like I do Emma? I think you have a devil so maybe I could be the angel on your shoulder?

Have you already bought the ingredients for the CDWM meal? If not then I would suggest making a more SW friendly meal - for your benefit. It doesn't have to be syn free but could be less synnful x

If you don't want to then the morning after you will be 100% back on plan. Right?

Tell me to s0d off if I'm being too bossy but look at the state of your poorly yummy now - it really doesn't like all the non SW food x

Hey yes please be the angel on my shoulder..

I haven't bought all the ingredients yet but have bought stuff for the dessert which is the naughtiest! Just looked at the recipes again and the starter and main I'd have to syn the black pudding, the red wine, a little flour for browning and if I use any olive oil so it's not as bad as I thought it was going to be so might stick with that unless anyone has any other ideas before I go shopping.

I definitely need to be on plan during the day tomorrow and straight back on it Sunday, I've done so well this year that I don't want to get on that slope of letting things slide, I have wrote down everything that has passed my lips since 3rd Jan.

Thanks again Lisa.. Actually I could make a fruit salad as well as chocolate pot and see how angelic I'm feeling?! Thing is I know they're good as made them New Years Eve so realistically I won't be able to resist! X

Well that's ok. Tbh if you had a choice between fruit salad and a naughty dessert - there's no choice really - so what about a more naughty feeling SW dessert?

Can you think of any that don't taste of sweetener? I've bought sparklers to go in the chocolate pots too but could use them elsewhere.. Won't have time to practice so need a fail safe recipe.. Does Elliot ever do desserts? X

Actually that's not a bad idea at all, I really want them to love my food though as it's CDWM so hope I make it okay..

my vote is on the pavlova :):)
you can have what looks like a huge portion as you can make most of it fruit :):)

have a great day
H xx

I don't know what to do now! I'm sort of thinking pavlova but also thinking the chocolate looks really effective and I've got all the ingredients.. Perhaps I'll make both and see what people fancy... Maybe! X
