Helen's quest for good health!

Hi everyone, had a fab party, everyone loved the food which I'm so pleased about and the dessert was perfect.. In fact they were orgasming over it and wanted more.. Even asked for it for breakfast!

Lots of alcohol involved, loads of laughs, was pleased that although dinner and alcohol off plan I didn't snack on popcorn and chocolates like the others which is a bonus and got straight back on track yesterday.. Was very hard with a hangover especially when the others were nibbling and at work there was a gorgeous looking Victoria sponge but have to keep my syns low to have any chance of a sts on Thursday.

Thanks Chelle for the salt, honey, lemon concoction because it actually seemed to work.

Had a horrible experience coming home from work last night (thanks for those who commented on Facebook), usually a confident driver and actually love driving but the snow had come down so fast, barely any snow when I left Heathrow at 22.30 last night but by the time I got to Beaconsfield it was lethal, everyone else had abandoned their cars but I so didn't want to that I put my car through hell, there was smoke, lights flashing and a horrific burning smell as was so determined to get up this hill, I managed to get up it but then took 10 mins to get down the other side and no one came behind me so guessing everyone else was stuck, I spun the car but only 90 degrees and then got it straight, they then shut the hill, thought I was okay apart from being a bit shaken up but got up this morning, called my mum and burst into tears, couldn't stop crying, it's really knocked me, I've had a headache since and can't get rid of it.

Doesn't help that I'd just found the photos of my car in the loft a couple of days before from when I had my big car crash June '96, kept them to appreciate how lucky I am to be alive and I suppose it just all came to a head.

I took today off and will be paying it back next week, just didn't feel confident enough and couldn't stop crying, still got snow and apparently getting more on Wednesday so just got to pull myself together and get back to confident driver me.. Just wish people didn't drive so slowly as they don't get enough traction to keep going, they need to drive sensibly and not at 2 miles an hour, know it sounds harsh but sometimes people cause more problems.

It was so tempting today to slog out on sofa and eat chocolate but I didn't! X

Aww Helen, that sounds awful. My friend lives in Beaconsfield and there are some nasty steep hills round there. Think you had worse weather than we did. She was saying there was a blizzard last night about 8ish whilst it was just rain here. Hope no more nasty weather.

Well done on food front. Sounds like you had a fab time on sat night and well done for getting back on plan. Brilliant.

Hope you can relax tonight and think positive thoughts x

I am just glad you are ok... It's bound to shake you up... Take it easy and go back when you are up to it...
Glad you tried the concoction it sounds fowl but isn't that bad and does work...xx

Glad you're ok :bighug:

And we'll done getting back on plan today soon x

Sorry to hear you had a grim time driving Helen. It has only happened to me a couple of times but I think that loss of control can really shake us up, especially when you've experienced a bad crash. Too much adrenaline and at the time you don't realise it as you're so focused on the car. Lots of other drivers not confident enough in snow drive me mad as well, you need to take it steady in terrible weather conditions, not take it at a standstill! Anyway, hope you feel better in the morning.

So glad your CDWM went according to plan, you absolute star. Well done for getting back on track x

You're right.. serious adrenaline rush.. heart was pounding x

I have been awake hours my heart is pounding, feel so nervous about driving, don't understand why when I didn't actually crash, just feel really nervous, I'm sure I'll be fine once I get out there.

I've got to thank my lucky stars that I'm here, my life flashed through my eyes when I had my big accident, got hit by a petrol tanker and ended up upside down on central reservation, I shouldn't dwell on it but I've looked at the photos again to try and pull myself together.
