Helen's quest for good health!

Hi glad you ok an keeping on track :)
Never thought about having ryvita and cheese spread with soup would make a change from bread. Got minestrone soup planned for next week so going give it a try

think you've got the right attitude about going away you need to be able enjoy hols but at the same time keep one eye on it. Hope you have a good time you going somewhere nice x

Glad you're back in track and it looks like you're doing well food wise :)

I put on 2 lbs yesterday so wasn't happy as all. I know why - a mix of no exercise, too many carbs and being (ahem) bunged up!

I'm back on track now and we'll both do it and LOSE next week x

I didn't dunk it in lol but perhaps I should have done but it makes a change from bread and quite filling.

Haven't had minestrone for years, is that homemade?

We're going to Cornwall next week and then next weekend we're heading up to the Midlands for a Family Reunion.. I'm so looking forward to it, and we're getting the train up there so I'm not sat in the car too long as driving hurts my back and I'm quite excited as we normally drive everywhere so will be quite good to be able to read etc on train.

Only downfall is when we usually stay in a cottage I take lots of my own stuff ie extra light mayo, alpen lights etc so it's easier to stay on track but I've not done any of the shopping and am taking nothing but clothes so no idea what's going to be there... Aahh!

Sounds lovely we love St.Ives . a friend of mine got a tesco shop delivered to their holiday cottage for when they arrived. The minestrone soup is from slimming eats ever since you posted the link I've been on finding ideas. I'll let you know how it turns out x

The other people we are going with arrived yesterday and we can't go until Monday afternoon after our earlies as couldn't get this weekend off so they are having a Tesco shop delivered but goodness knows what they've ordered as they are big drinkers (poor Nicky's not at the moment as she is pregnant but the rest are) and very slim so lots of nibbly bits n bobs I'm sure!

That Slimming Eats is great but haven't tried the soup yet so once I'm back I'll have a look.. Have a good week x

She's my cousin and really supportive of my weight loss, sent me such a fantastic text the other week saying how brilliantly I'm doing and how proud she is of me that it made me cry that I'm sure she will have done x

That's really great :). I haven't told anyone so get mist if my support on here x

She hopefully wouldn't sabotage your trip by ordering loads of crisps and chocolate that you'd have to resist x
I'm sure it will me fine :)

I hadn't told alot of people but hadn't seen her for a couple of months and when she saw me she was so enthusiastic about the weight I'd lost and then that evening she sent the lovely text messages.

You must know crisps are my weakness.. Her husband has been to Costco and got loads! There are 6 of us and I'm the only one watching what I eat.. When we went away in April I had such good intentions however once we were there and the games were out or we were sat around chatting then the nibbles came out and I went mad!

This time I'm going knowing I am going to eat some naughty things but try not to go stupid about it x

Try to not have a crisp. I know it will be hard but I have found that 1 leads to 1000 very quickly!!!

Also I can get ill on crisps. I think it's the fat? So make sure you have some grapes or any fruit to pick on. Or carrot sticks?

Ooh and sounds like there might be some walking in that area so good fir some body magic x

That is so so true.. As the saying goes with Pringles "once you pop you can't stop"... Thank you for your words of wisdom and I will try my best to stick to that mantra.

We went to Portwrinkle last year too and there are a fair few hills which I don't mind but have to be careful because of my back/hip not to push it too hard, nice hot tub to relax in after though! X

Stay in the hot tub can't snack with wet hands ha ha xx

Btw I'm not updating my iPhone until the subscribed threads thing works!!! I'd be lost without it - literally lost!

Snap! I'm completely lost.. It's taking me ages to find the posts, don't really know how to use minimins on PC either and just heading to work.. Wish I'd known about this before I update my phone! X
