Helen's quest for good health!

Had such a fab day with hubby, we didn't go to Marlow as I remembered Wallingford and Mark had never been before, we literally laid a blanket on the ground and read, chatted, people watched and ate a picnic.. Oh and updated our whereabouts on Facebook as he insisted and didn't have his phone on him!! Rest of the time phone was away so didn't get to catch up on here but will today.

It was so relaxing but wish I'd taken my costume, I didn't bother as knew outside pool would be packed due summer holidays but people were swimming in the river and I was so jealous.

We were there for hours and when we'd had enough lazing around on the river bank we went to the pub on the river and lazed some more, it was nice and hot but a lovely breeze as I usually get fed up in the sun and I loved it. We realised we'd been there for hours, thank goodness we'd put in for 8 hours parking and only just made it back!

Mark said he couldn't be bothered to cook the BBQ we had planned so we went to our local and sat in the garden there, after eating healthy food all day I was naughty and had the steak burger but I have to say it was absolutely gorgeous so don't regret it! The only thing that could possibly be on plan was the steak but at £18 there was no way I was having that as we weren't out for a "proper" meal and the salad didn't sound good as it had feta and guacamole so I thought sod it I'll have the burger! Sat there for a few hours and then wandered home so happy.

I love it when we get a day off together to enjoy ourselves, today we're both off and we'll be chilling in the garden, might be too hot though as apparently it's going to be 30c here today and we don't get a breeze so we'll see how long I last doing nothing today.. At home I'm always tempted to get up and do odd things hence why we went out yesterday! X

I saw your post on fb and it looked lovely, it sounds like a perfect day to me, my sort of day out... You might find that strange me being goth but so long as sit in shade with factor 50 on I love it... To be honest my ideal location is a nice old Victorian built cemetery... There is a lovely one in Nottingham that you can picnic in, but the church up the road don't mind me wandering in with a blanket, kindle and snacks... In fact the local vicar has come and had a natter when he has spotted me... He's quite cool for a vicar...xx

I can just imagine you sat in the local church yard! At least the vicar is friendly and doesn't mind, they're are peaceful places however some people are scared of them, although I am too when I walk through at night! Silly I know!

Had another lazy day today, this time in our garden rather than by the beautiful river, the temperature said 33c, not sure how accurate it is but would explain the heat rash!

Did some gardening but the rest of the time I read and I did listen to my slimpods, I managed to stay awake and think that helped, feel really positive.. So on that note I will list today's (if I can think of enough!):

1) I have totally gone off coke, haven't had any for a month, thought I'd try a sip of Mark's but just can't drink it, everytime I try it I think I've got a dodgy bottle as it tastes horrible but Mark is insisting it tastes normal

2) listened to my pods and properly "listened"

3) took my time and concentrated on what I was eating

4) turned down scones and jam when offered and had pineapple instead (?!)

5) haven't turned into a pumpkin yet (Mark says if I don't eat by 7 I turn into one as I get stressed with no food, I'm not hungry so even though dinner is prepared I haven't started cooking it yet)

Feeling really proud of myself today, whilst food shopping I didn't avoid the naughty stuff because I felt I had to, I avoided them because I didn't want them! I only wanted to buy healthy things and since I got home I've only felt like eating fruit, maybe these pods are working again.

Thanks girls, I washed and cut some strawberries up for after dinner but I was full and didn't even want those, Mark had his with clotted cream and I was intending to dip mine in some melted Philadelphia chocolate but wasn't happening! X

Today I am going to see a cognitive hypnotherapist, Jackie recommend me seeing someone to try to get to the bottom of what causes my binges, she gave me a website which lists people accredited, let's hope the lady I see works as many wonders as it has with Jackie, I'll give you an update later x
